But now I needed a better setup for my kidding stalls. The panels weren't tall enough and the goats in labor and after kidding would fight through them and when I separate the kids at night, I need a safer and better setup for them.
And this worked! It's all done and sometime in the future I'll take some time to "doll" it up and make it look suitably cute.
We've made a lot of progress on our farm and have done a lot of work this summer so far but there's so much more to do! I'm anxious to get it exactly like I want it but will that ever happen?? There seems to always be more ideas and a better way to do things.

I so enjoy your family. You have taught me alot and you are such an inspiration. Tell Bill that my husband knows his pain with the auger, my husband lost his grip a couple times, they are a blessing to have when on a budget but they can be very dangerous. God Bless you and your family. Peace and blessings.

My dairy girls, I have 5 with starting all over again after a long marriage ended. I saved and saved to be able to buy another one. I so wish I had dirt floor again. I like your milk room, so thinking I can build walls around where my water comes in at. I can heat the room then up to if needed here in Wisconsin.

Wow. It looks great. I'm in the process also of weaning my babies. And its a job. I think the hardest part is having the littles cry for their momma. Makes me sad. But it has to be done if I want to milk. I love all of your videos and they have been such a help to me as I am fairly new to milking and raising goats. I have used your goat binder and I love how much more organized it makes me and keeping records. Keep up the great work your doing. God Bless you and your precious family.

I didn't notice where you place hay? Do you hay your goats in their stalls/barn? Or do they abstain until morning?
I will be redoing my goat barn here, within the next weeks or so as I too, separate kids & dams.
They will stay in other shelters (your brilliant pallet designs that i just love pieces) for the milking season (does by the milking barn & wethers in a smaller pasture away from the house). My struggle is where to put everything! This barn is only in max use part of the year, but it's use is very specific at the same time.
The hardest part of winter, everyone sleeps communally in the barn mainly for warmth, so stalls are always open. They pick the warmest spots. Everyone feeds from one hay feeder & one bucket.
Once kidding begins, they have their individual stalls which stay closed for those tender beginnings.
Then, it's communal until weaning begins. Kids begin sleeping together in a stall and they have a small bucket and just a clump of hay i throw in. I tried a hay bag & they always manage to try unaliving themselves in it. Ugh. Little buggers.
Now I'm milking 2x a day, & I'm ready to get volume. Everyone is castrated & grown up, but that also means...cleaning out all those months of accumulated yuck, and the dusty work of barns.
I'm getting closer to a system that I like, but I'm not there yet. Iknow what i like, but i find myself staring into the abyss in utter confusion. I want them to have everything they need, but also have to work with the space i have available. Hence, yet another reorganization project.

Good luck with the burdizzo. I tried, had a vet do it for me and all but 1 failed. It didn't help that I bought a used one 🤣.
I love your supervisor! She's awesome!

That is a fear of mine that the burdizzo won’t work!
But a lot of people say it does and I did get a new one!
      So hoping 🤞🏻

Great changes!! It will be nice for kidding time and weaning time. The only thing that I feel is SUPER important that I would have done differently is that I would have cemented the posts into the ground. It doesn't look super sturdy. Other than that, it looks great!

I'm curious on how you feel about your Stalls Since you built them , but don't have clear view of them from the entrance to the barn ? I'm trying to figure out exactly how I want my Stalls. I also want to put in a Loafing shelf In as well. I like the height of your walls between the goats. Are they trying to eat through the wall By any chance? We have long winters here in alaska so they spend a lot of time indoors Rather than have outdoor feeding stations Or resting areas. Any ideas that you would like to share

    • @DelcifromALifeofHeritage
      @DelcifromALifeofHeritage  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

The biggest problem I had was during kidding season. The mammas would fight through the fence if they could see each other, banging and banging. Now they can’t do that. They have a private kidding corner now.
I don’t mind the height. My main door is small enough that I don’t have a clear view of the entire inside anyway.
Because we have such cold winters, I’ve considered ways to “close in” the stalls and put a “roof” on them of sorts. We don’t have heat in the barn and that would help trap heat more. I really don’t know if that would work though. They’d need some light in there to see to bed down.
I also wonder if sliding barn doors would be better too. Having not tried that, I’m not sure!

    ● Evidences from the bible:
*1) One God. Jesus (peace be upon him) is a prophet.*
    *• John 17:3*
Now this is the eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
    *• John 20:17*
I asend to My Father, and your Father. To my God and your God.
According to your book, Jesus taught that there is only One God and only God should be worshipped.
    As taught in:
    *• Deut 6:4*
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
    *• Mark 12: 29*
The most important one,' answered Jesus, 'is this: 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
Muslims also belive this as taught in the Quran verse 4:171
*2) Jesus didn't eat pork* as taught in
    *• Leviticus 11:17:*
And the pig, though it has a divided hoof, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you.
And neither do Muslims as taught in the Quran 6:145
*3) Jesus greeted with the words "Assalamu Alaykom", which means [peace be with you]* in
    *• John 20:21* :
Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.
Muslims also greet each other this way.
*4) Jesus always said [God willing]. Muslims also say this to before doing anything* as taught in the Quran verse 18:23-24.
*5) Jesus washed his face, hands and feet before praying. The Muslims do the same.*
*6) Jesus and other prophets of the Bible prayed with their head to the ground.*
    *• Matthew 26:39* :
Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”
Muslims do to as taught in the Quran verse 3:43.

Jesus prayed to God all night Jesus is not God.
      Luke 6:12
One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.
