    Really want to thank you for you time and video, was very helpful. I think this was the easiest oil change I have completed outside of resetting the oil light. Purchased MAXIDIAG MD808 Professional OBDII Scanner and it worked well (i could not see the small red box on the number pad to set the date) . I am first time Porsche owner of a 2017 2.0. Thanks Again.

    hey, thank you for sharing your footage, i usually do top-sider way to do oil change on this vehicle, but i decided to drain extra a few old oil from the vehicle this time. my question is did you used the ramp on the front 2 tires of the vehicle or all 4 tires? was going to get jack stand, but i don't know how to jack up the macan.. lol

    • @wilnomadic
      @wilnomadic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just the front two. I have jacked up all 4 corners on the Macan to do the transmission fluid. From what I remember there is no center Jack point in the front. Rear I used the rear diff to lift the rear at one time

    • @robertm1692
      @robertm1692 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pelican Parts has a good video on the lift points and the jack stand locations for your Macan. Essentially there are som e access panes\ls that have to be removed so you can get metal to metal contact for the jack stands. Or the rubber pucks to metal contact if you have them. th-cam.com/video/jV3PeXA6TN0/w-d-xo.html

      Yes, not sure I would not upgrade it because if you accidentally tighten then you will strip the pan. It’s simple to use the plastic version and they do not leak if you replace it every change.

    as a point of reference, crack the oil filter loose, until you barely see the gasket, and open the oil cap before draining the oil. so it all drains at the same time and it helps it drain faster. I advise on getting a hand pump extractor and get the engine oil to operating temp and extract it via the dipstick tube for ease, so you don't have to remove the belly pan and all that jazz every time. Yes, this method DOES extract/removal all the oil from the crankcase. also, on these engines, which VW and Audi use on 90% of their fleet, perform oil changes every 5k miles will save the engine from future issues with timing chain stretch/wear and oil consumption issues. I know this was poster 3 years ago, but keep an eye on the thermostat housing once you start getting into 50-60k miles as they tend to leak.
