The wallet canvas part is an amazing idea for people who use their art travelers journal for EVERYTHING... You diffidently made it completely functional for all day, everything use, just what us artist need in their art journal!
I like it!!! It's 'simple' ... and yet, "EXTRAVAGANT"!!! I have been " making " - ' INSERTS ' and TN - Covers, during these last few days, and to tell you, I have been "enjoying" it, to the expense, that, I even "created" my own business's "logo", yesterday!!! I have been watching Dyan Reaveley's and Jane Davenport's Mixed Media craftings and artworks, and is now "totally" entwined with them, that I make it a "habit" of 'drawing' & 'painting' " Whimsical - Faces" on my A5 - TN " Inserts " that I made myself!!! Waiting for Dyan Reaveley's Journalling Notebook for the First Time, I'm so "excited" to receive it, and start making "crafts" and "arts" with it! I also bought a 1,5 m x 1 meter , 200 gsm drawing paper, that I'm going to make a huge book for "crafting" with, aside from the Reaveley Book!I am in "what a planning"!!!! I wanna make a business with this, and call it my own "FIRST BUSINESS"!!!! I hope it will be fine .... Your "DIY" is really so good!!! TFS
I've been mesmerized by your videos and skills. I won't have the resources to get into woodworking/dyi crafts in the near future, but watching you is so relaxing!
Great DIY. Very Informative. Great Instructions. I like that you not only made the travelers notebook, but also the paper inserts. Thank You for taking the time to make this video. Good things to you.
Yep, I'd like to have specific secured places for the pen pencil and fountain pen as well as a place for small geometry instruments , ruler protractor.
You could probably whip one up out of additional leather and attach it one of two ways - either tuck it beneath the elastic and have it removable or rivet/contact cement for a permanent solution. Cause I was thinking the same thing; need a place for pencils etc.
Sounds like a winter project for me and possible Christmas gifts. ALSO: meant to mention this is in your painting video. Invest in a brush/roller spinner.
This is the first time I've seen your channel, and I just subscribed. I love this notebook! Am putting this on my Christmas list! Looking forward to watching all of your other videos. These look like really cool projects. Thanks for sharing this!
How do you process a deer hide? Can you suggest a book or some form of instruction please? I hunt deer and elk but have never saved the hide and would love to stop wasting the hides. Thank you for any help
Linn, thank you for this video. I've needed something like this for years, because I must have 15 composition books around the house for when I gather an idea. this notebook will be a great addition. that's a great looking doughnut By the way! I'm a Maple French Crueler kind of guy, however that looked real good.
Great but you should use a Speedy Stitcher sewing awl. It will do the job for the insert booklet but also for the fabric insert. it not as fast as a sewing machine but lot cheaper and can sew boat sail or leather. Got one to repair my leather sandal...
I love your craftswomanship!have you ever messed with a wood burner on leather it really cool.i used to go to our local flea market and get leather scraps cheap .ive made some small knife sheaths and keychains with the leather and burned the edges and right whatever you want on them it permanently burnt.thanks for sharing. stay safe
Hey, I really love this video you just posted because I’m creating notebooks myself. But I’m so curious what is that donut or that treat that you were eating?
is there a specific template you used to make the lined paper and/or does anyone know what the "standard" spacing is if i make it with a spreadsheet style program
Project ElectricEye that's the whole point of being a vegan. they are against every form of animal abuse. So, if they wear leather then they are the biggest hypocrites.
Hi. Love this idea and really want to give it a go. What are the dimensions you cut the leather to?And also the 5 holes, what are the specific measurement for these? The middle one I get (it's in the middle) but the other 4?
The paper size should be : 180mm x 240mm Not 118mm the notebook wouldn’t be very tall, I’m a bit late but just stumbled across your Channel I’m making a travelers notebook cover and inserts. Love your cover and inserts.

What a wonderful gift for someone. I know a lot of writers, now I know what to give for Christmas this year.
Wonderful and a fun video.
Thank you
I think these would make wonderful Christmas gifts too!

I like the way you threaded the elastic, I have never seen it done that way before, and the addition of the inner canvas 'pockets' very good :)
I particularly enjoyed the canvas pocket element! Nice job!

Great DIY. Very Informative. Great Instructions. I like that you not only made the travelers notebook, but also the paper inserts. Thank You for taking the time to make this video. Good things to you.
You could mix pages for projects. Graph paper for plans. Lined pages for notes and unruled for design and sketched details.
Exactly! That's why I made different books.
I like that the leather cover is thinner and more flimsy than most packaged midori style journals that I see. Makes it more flexible to work with
Awesome job! How can someone be that beautiful and smart at the same time???!!! Love the projects! Keep it up...
Thank you so much, I when to Micheals and had a 50% coupon. I bought the leather and string. Travelers note in under $9 dollars.

I like that idea too - in my last leather notebook I added a pencil loop, however I really wanted to stick with simplicity here.
You can do what she did with the fabric thing. Add a zipper to a long pocket and you can slip the pencil and some pens in there.
Love it! Nice job Lynn! I like how the paper note books come together. They look great!
Thanks Chris!

I love the way you stitched your notebook. I will be trying this. Thnx for inspiring.
I can't get enough of your videos can't wait for any new ones
Great project and video, I liked the leatherwork, book binding and sewing.
Looks really good! Nice and clean tutorial also. Idea for next booklets: put some nice stamps on the leather?
I LOVE this idea! thank you for sharing. I think I'll make some as Christmas gifts this year!
Size of Paper
118 mm x 240 mm
I do not understand
mby 210mm ?
what a fantastic gift idea. Thanks for sharing Lynn.
Very nice work, they all turned out beautiful, I think my favorite is the brown leather 🤓👍🏼
Thank you, I really like the idea of using canvas for the insets. Great ideas and video.
brilliant Lynn. I think I may over think this stuff.. you make it look easy.
Perfect timing. I have a deer hide salted and getting ready to turn it into leather. This is what I will make; Books for my grand kids
could you ask one of your children to adopt me please?:)
How do you process a deer hide? Can you suggest a book or some form of instruction please? I hunt deer and elk but have never saved the hide and would love to stop wasting the hides. Thank you for any help
Cool!
Really nice work Linn! ....I have that same utility knife, I will never get another one unless it has that quick change blade feature.
These notebooks are gorgeous ! Congrats Linn 🙂
Superb as usual. As a notebook lover I will definitely try this!
Like the idea of a book for keeping tracks of receipts and delivery noted etc rather than stuffed all over the place in different pockets.
You inspired me to make a similar leather journal. It's pretty sweet.
Very nice notebook you made. It's simple to build and adjustable. I like that!
Thanks Cristian!
Looks great. I never leave home without a notebook.
Me neither :)
we love your work and your way to show it! congrats!
hi Lynn I like the books & am also interested in your other projects too great job and have a great day
I couldn't find a 365 paper journal so I decided to make this..can't wait!
Great directions, I really like the pocket insert!
nice work! was wondering if you could maka pocket for a pencil?
These are beautiful. I have some metal alphabet "stamps". They would be great to personalize these. Thanks for the great tutorial.
I agree, that would add a great touch.
I have a bunch of folders that I’ve tried to turn into actual books but this seems easy
great idea.... was wondering if you thought of making your own paper ... also think could be modified to be a tablet holder.
Diresta inspiration for leather work ? Love it ! Keep going !
I like this idea, may have to try this out.
I love this so much! Definitely going to make one myself! Thank you so much for sharing!
Linn,
thank you for this video.

Hello and thanks for your video :) But isn't there a problem with the measurements? The paper seems bigger than the leather
I was checking anime haul and somehow ended here.
Think I need to buy some leather.
Ditto Ar. LOL
I really like the simplicity of these, yet so handy!! Keep up the great videos!
This is a good idea. I appreciate your efforts
Tried and True is owned by some of the nicest humans on the planet. Funny enough I'm working on a coffee specific set of Midori journals! Cheers!
Nice job Lynn, another good project.
Incredible and so simple! A must try
I love your craftswomanship!have you ever messed with a wood burner on leather it really cool.i used to go to our local flea market and get leather scraps cheap .ive made some small knife sheaths and keychains with the leather and burned the edges and right whatever you want on them it permanently burnt.thanks for sharing. stay safe
That looks like a thick piece of leather, how thick is it and what kind of leather did u use?
Nice! You took an ordinary object and made it into a beautiful ordinary object. Now I need one, lol! I may even start writing again...
Good motivation :)
Great work with the leather!
Thanks Gillan!
Really appreciated your presentation and ideas. I subscribed.
Are your measurements finished and folded sizes or sized before folding. Sorry very new to this
Hey, I really love this video you just posted because I’m creating notebooks myself. But I’m so curious what is that donut or that treat that you were eating?
As usual very nice handiwork Linn,
But there was one thing you didn’t mention…
Mmm that goodiegoodiething on the table, an exploded donut or….
is there a specific template you used to make the lined paper and/or does anyone know what the "standard" spacing is if i make it with a spreadsheet style program
Wow ! That looked amaizing really now i want one!
. Hi, very nice midori, I'm pending to make one with polipiel and you gave me a good idea, greetings from Spain
beautiful book! great job!
why on earth would anyone vote this video down ?? she's crafty in a good way !!! :-)
Project ElectricEye butthurt vegans maybe.
Project ElectricEye that's the whole point of being a vegan. they are against every form of animal abuse. So, if they wear leather then they are the biggest hypocrites.
Great and smart and kind and lovely video. 😊 Greetings from northern Germany!
Thank you so much for this idea! I love it ! You explain that perfectly and I did all by myself too!
Es muy buen proyecto, muchas gracias y saludos desde Bogotá, Colombia.
How thick is the elastic band?
Where did you get the pdf for your paper?
very nice work, your channel is such an inspiration. thank you for sharing!
Where can I find the Midori planner design that you use for the paper notebooks?
Hi. Love this idea and really want to give it a go. What are the dimensions you cut the leather to?And also the 5 holes, what are the specific measurement for these? The middle one I get (it's in the middle) but the other 4?
how large can a travelers notebook be? that was a great video
Absolutely love your video!!!!! Mahalo for posting!!
hermosooo no entiendo el ingles pero precioso ese trabajo!!saludos Anahi De Argentina!!!
What are the dimensions of the leather and the paper size and bands?
hey you're video is nice . can u tell which pencil your using this video
I think you would love fountain pens since you like to write so much
What template did you use for the lined paper in landscape?
that is very cool, like the card insert, i don't like to carry a wallet but this might come in handy.
please tell me how thick the leather is you used. 2 or 3 mm?
What ruler do you use?
The paper size should be : 180mm x 240mm
Not 118mm the notebook wouldn’t be very tall, I’m a bit late but just stumbled across your Channel I’m making a travelers notebook cover and inserts. Love your cover and inserts.
Where can I get that blackwing?
Och! Just sat down to make a couple and I'm out of elastic. Hrmpf.
Like this alot, just simple and practicle. good job!
Do you have any recommendations as to where to buy the leather online? Thanks. Love your tutorials.
What's track in the intro?
Really good idea! and so well explained! thanks!!!
I just saw your video n Tfs, your books r awesome n you've explained very well 🤓🤗
genial su trabajo, felicitaciones
would a recycled leather jacket work for the leather it's really soft and flexible
Deborah viner that sounds pretty darn awesome, you gotta try it!
It’s personal preference, most people prefer something a little stiffer for better protection
You could cover thick card/mount board to get the desired hardness if the leather is too soft to make a cover.
Thank you☺️👍🏻its perfect and easy👌
what's this for a delicious cake?
Donut!
where do you order your leather from? online store preferred
This leather is from Tandy.
Looks cool just needs a better place for your pencil or pen...i would lose it just under the string....but like the idea...
You could probably just cut a little bit of elastic or a rectangle of leather and sew it to the side to make a pen loop
Brilliant video thank you
Mmmmm that Blackwing 344 doe.
