Onision's rap sheet is such a blast from the past. It's easy to forget how much of a monster he was since he got banned, but it really blows my mind how little TH-cam ever did to him. They're happy to fuck random people over nowadays, but it took them YEARS to finally boot Onision...
That's the bit that might stick. If they go through all the available stuff both of them said/did in videos, all Onion's stuff others covered and all the complaints TH-cam got yet did nothing about until years after he was losing relevance and likely no longer making them good money, they just might have a case to answer. Depends on how strict the court chooses to be. Because I can imagine TH-cam: "YT gets 1B videos loaded a day, we can't keep track of it all". But years of complaints about him and all his false copyright claims staff manually overturned will show up somewhere.
Is it true he bought shares in youtube early, so that gave him some sort of protection? I remember hearing that at some stage over the past few years, but no idea if true or not
There were actually several hundred videos (some by popular content creators, such as Blaire White, MrRepzion, Repzilla, Edwin's Generation, and iNabber) dedicated to calling him out. I actually ran a blog about him (OnisionHurtsPeople on Tumblr) for (roughly) a decade. His videos also got reported hundreds of times. I reported some of them myself; and I've seen other commenters say the same. There's absolutely no way that they didn't know about this. I suspect that they just didn't bother doing anything about him because he made them money. He ultimately only got banned (temporarily) because Chris Hansen made them look bad. 🙁 (Although he has since been un-banned). There's just no point in covering his bad behavior anymore.

i remember i was 12 years old, binge watching onisions videos and seeing him tell young girls they should lose weight cause their love handles are too big. he would tell girls who werent overweight that they were fat and should go vegan.i started comparing myself to these girls and wondering if onision would find me attractive so i posted a picture of myself on his forum and he put me in his video and just made fun of me. i tried to go vegan and thats honestly when my ED started. i wish this never happened and that onision never existed.
I did the exact same thing too. not fun. was literally just talking to my friend the other day about how we felt groomed by onision through youtube and all of his videos. he new how to draw people in. I went vegetarian also developed an ED.

As a child of a Vet, Onision misleading people about his military career has always been a huge point of contention. He knowingly conflates an honorable discharge to a general discharge under honorable conditions. It's NOT a dishonorable discharge by any means, but it does mean that his conduct during service wasn't the best.
I don't know how it is in America but doesn't discharge under honorable conditions mean you didnt break any major rules/laws? It's literally the standard discharge in the services or am I missing something?
Honorable discharge means you have a good record whilst being there. General discharge under honorable conditions means you weren't kicked out for doing something majorly wrong. At least that's how it was described to me in England so I don't know how it is in America.
@@Subarashii_Nem Basically the way it works here is that everyone gets an honorable discharge. A general discharge is more in the middle. Sure, you did your job, but your conduct wasn't great (even if you didn't necessarily break any rules). Think of it as like the equivalent of getting a D or D+ in US public schools. You passed, but only by the skin of your teeth. As far as benefits go, you're still entitled to them with the exception of education benefits.
He actually stripped naked in his military boss's office. I don't think that's "honorable". 🤔 Edit: He did this after less than 6 weeks in the military, incidentally. But he still wants people to "thank him for his service", even though he never served. He's also made videos where he was dressed up in a military uniform. Allegedly.

Yeah I’ve heard someone make the point before that Kai/Lainey/etc. will be what gets Onision caught. Greg/James knows how to do this stuff and largely slink away from the law, but since Lainey was originally a victim of his, they don’t know how to groom people as well as Greg himself does lol. It’s almost like having a henchman below you who’s meant to help but due to their own incompetency they end up making things worse
Now of course I’m really glad that Lainey was overt enough with the grooming to be caught with irrefutable evidence, and they weren’t that bad of a ‘henchman’ seeing as they still got minors involved in Greg’s web, but you get what I mean (hopefully lol)

It's not really about knowing any better. It's more to do with critical thinking skills and the ability to discern reality from internet bullshit. About the same age and all the boys in my class seemed to be able to peg him for a piece of shit but the girls were oblivious as fuck to it even after we pointed it out. I still don't understand as an adult how girls could be so utterly blind.
@@isThreeman I’m no expert so take what I say with a pretty big grain of salt, but it truly feels like girls in their teens and pre-teens are a lot more susceptible to manipulation from people like Onision.
Maybe it’s a societal thing conditioning them. Maybe it’s just they care what a “celebrity” thinks. Maybe they just think he’s attractive and therefore can do no wrong. I really couldn’t tell you.
All I can say is that pre-teen and teenage girls tend to fall victim to manipulation a lot easier, and predators know how to exploit this and use it to their advantage. It’s why they always target that demographic.

Once a cool older person especially an adult shows interest in you as a child with abysmal self-esteem, it's like a drug to you. Finally, your knight in shining armor to whisk you away and give you the life and love you've always dreamed of. Then they discard you like yesterdays' trash and you don't know what just happened because you felt so special to them not long ago. I was even re-"groomed" at 24 and it felt like a super magnet was pulling me into the direction of an oncoming train. At that age, I could finally see what was happening but I felt powerless to change course.

Actually this _does_ involve youtube as well. Half of these complaints are directed at YT specifically because all this was essentially sanctioned by them. This could be really big for everyone involved.
I was thinking this myself. Google/YT has demonetized and disabled accounts at the drop of a hat, leaving creators wondering WTH they did wrong, yet they permitted and enabled this for over ten years!

I actually reported some of his videos myself. I know of several other people who did, too; and I can count several different TH-camrs who covered his behavior within the past decade (Repzion, Repzilla, Edwin's Generation, iNabber and several others). In my opinion, they just simply don't care because he's making them money. 😞
Most think U Tube will cover there arses and his is B.S deep beyond boots! People should have been reporting him all along, paper trail always wins. But i hope all parties go down for what they done and gotten away with.

He can’t profit off of it anymore through anything that isn’t OnlyFans, but he finds ways to get people to despise him and thrive off of it to stay relevant or notorious.
Its possible to make a career off of offending people or being hated, but when you land in legal trouble or start hurting other people? Well, that’s when things go from bad to worse.
In my opinion, he actually (allegedly) starts drama on purpose in order to get people to respond to him.

The true shame is that both Greg and Kai or whatever they call themselves will probably never face criminal prosecution for the planned and researched crimes they committed. This is just one person suing another. This does however make Greg and Kai give a deposition and it will be under oath with penalty of perjury so if they try to lie they can be charged with a crime. Let’s hope those scumbags are dumb enough to try.

Theres documentation and a long history. When there's an investigation they wait years in order to build a stack of evidence against the person. Fools rush in. Thats why its taken so long to get Andrew Tate and R Kelly. They have a pattern of behavior documented over years instead of one time crimes. He'll be prosecuted and face consequences this time. Theres 2 state law firms going after him. Also they're dragging YT, a large corporation , they'll have to take it seriously because they dont want to lose money

@@DTheCritical traveling to another state to have sex with a minor is illegal I believe, and he did it TWICE to two seperate girls (Shiloh and Taylor (at the time)) that we know of. Violates the Mann act I think. The problem is that noone knew that this was a law and whatever statutes of limitations were in place had long expired when it was discovered.
Greg is good at covering his tracks. As an internet lurker for years, having followed Onision for years starting off as a fan watching all of his videos (I was like 13 im 26 now) to having his weird kombucha breakdown, to “it’s Chris Hansen”, this is amazing. I’ve followed anything in him for years and it’s about time something finally happened.
Finally accountability? He should have been charged and imprisoned when his daughter fell out the window and ran to get a camera to film everything.
CPS in Washington is extremely incompetent (remember Josh Powell and what he did to his boys? CPS allowed him to do that) so I'm not surprised they didn't do anything about Onion recording his daughter after she fell
I was one of those young teens (14 at the time) who was easily influenced by the "am I pretty or hot?" style videos, and submitted a photo of myself for the video where he ranked girls who'd been dress coded with "Onision" written across my cleavage and got featured as the "winner". Needles to say, the school was absolutely correct to dress code me for the top as it was a low cut sweetheart neckline and again, I was 14.

Looking back it honestly disturbs me how easily I fell for it. Of course I knew the whole "don't talk to stranger on the internet ect" speel, but somehow he made us young girls feel safe enough to do it. It was disgusting.

That happens with people discovering themselves and what names goes best. I have two acquaintances with trans and gender exploring kids who have changed their names 2 and 4 times.

I was an Onision fan when I was 12-13. The things he said about other people's bodies made me feel like absolute shit about my own. I soon developed an E.D, and I really feel that what he said definitely propelled that. The way he portrays himself as "just honest" can really fuck with someone who's 12/13 and very impressionable. Looking back it's silly now, but when you're that age it can affect you so much.

It’s honestly a shame YT can’t or isn’t being held liable for the role they played in boosting Greg’s channel and career based solely on watch times and rates, because people were reporting him the first day he started uploading pics of underage girls in their underwear and YT continued to boost his content. So many people overlook YT’s complete knowledge of Greg’s actions and choosing to do nothing for a long long time.

I'm also glad that Lainey/Kai features a lot in this. I've seen too many Onision documentaries which paint Lainey/Kai from the perspective that they had no idea what they were doing and Onision was the puppet master when there's this entire laundry list of sexual crap they've done. Even if Onision was taken out of the picture, I'm not convinced Lainey/Kai wouldn't be a danger to minors, so I'm glad it's not being swept under the rug here.

Just ask anyone with internet in the 90-00s 2) Regina isn’t the only victim and plenty of others DID get physically assaulted. If Regina is the only one with court worthy PROOF of CSAM then it’s important for the others that this goes to court 3) Greg is all about “honesty” so if he loses he either has to claim that the courts had it out for him, Regina lied even with her evidence OR has to admit he finally got caught

Firstly, this isn't a Federal, or even State, prosecution ... it's a civil case ala Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard.
Unless the plaintiff has a team of equally good - meaning expensive - lawyers, as Johnny Depp did, civil cases are, paradoxically, harder to win, for the plaintiff, as the defense can often bring in expensive lawyers of their own. If Google _and_ TH-cam are both named as co-defendants, that means they will bring in their own in-house counsel which they likely get easily six figures for this kind of stuff.
Where things get interesting is if, as the wording suggests, Greg and Kai are named separately. That may mean that they can't share the same legal counsel.
The other thing is a request for trial by jury. Having sat on two jury panels myself, even though this was in 2001/2, I still remember both cases pretty well ... I remember shaving the morning I had to attend court, looking myself in the mirror, and somehow trying to reconcile, in a criminal trial, that whilst the person whom was the alleged attacker of the victim - who was pretty bruised up - there was simply not enough evidence to convict, but enough circumstantial evidence to suggest the accused _did_ attack the man. Those of a certain age who knows the play, and film, 'Twelve Angry Men', will understand that dilemma ...
The other issue with a civil trial is the most that can be done, if the plaintiff wins, is award damages. Where this a _criminal_ case, bought on by either the State, or, exceptionally, Federal Government, then sentence passed usually ends with a prison sentence. I haven't heard of a single civil lawsuit where that is even a possibility ...
The best outcome is, whilst Google/TH-cam will not be held legally liable, that if, and only if, Greg, and Kai/Whomever, are separate defendants, each may have to pay damages, usually compensatory - to pay for all the plaintiff's legal costs, plus in lieu of any harm done - and putative, which, in addition to the compensatory damages the jury decides, is the only punishment that can be given out ...
In short, don't rejoice just yet, or even at all, as, depending on how deep the Onion Family's pockets are, will determine how good their lawyers are ... although I _can_ see old BoiledRedOnionBoy defending himself ...
Keep the sparkling grape juice in the fridge for now, as a) this many take weeks, or months; and b) there maybe little chance the planttiff will win ...
Personally, this ought to be a criminal trial, not a civil one, where the individual State is the Prosecution, and is able to bring in their full weight ... including search warrants for _all_ their computers, phones, etc, and perhaps even the physical server on which ol' RottenRedOnionBoy had his 'forum/s' on ... especially the one with the requested photos on, to be 'rated' ...
That may still be possible with a civil lawsuit, but I'm very doubtful ...
The TL;DR is this won't be over, until it's over; neither Onision, nor Kai will be given the proper prison sentence they both deserve; and any damages they maybe faced with, could possibly be fleeced from what audience they still have.
It’s crazy, I totally understand the argument they’re making in court. I’m 24, so I was a young teen around the time onision was popular and at one point I was a actually a fan of his. It wasn’t until I started watching your videos at the time that was able to see just how fucked of a person he was. then it was just entertaining watching his complete down fall and all the drama that came from it but I’m even happier now that it seems he’s actually going to face consequences for his actions. he definitely deserves it.

It could be thought of as a bigger deal this way. If it was criminal against onision and kai then yay you got 2 predators out of society for a few years. But against google it could actually force them to take more responsibility for protecting children on their platform. And it then would likely have a ripple effect, because the other social media platforms wouldn't want the same to happen to them.

I believe a “non-neutral algorithm” would be referring to an algorithm that clearly chooses content based on a User’s interests, and-more importantly for TH-cam’s sake-what the algorithm/company feels would be in a User’s [best] interest to view…so they’re basically [outright] saying that content provided to Users is not strictly curated based on a User’s past views/interests, but also curated on what TH-cam feels would gain and continue long stints of viewership…not to mention redirecting Users to their highest Ads placements.
I sincerely hope the others victims join in including Sarah, Billy or many others who were harmed on TH-cam or essentially trafficked, abused. Sarah keeps having their quantities projected on her and they keep lying that she is an r word when clearly they groomed her. The level of slander from Onision and publicly torturing his victims or anyone who criticized them with private info that was clarified to be private.
