Sir, I have a question. My product cost of mfg is Rs.30. I add my 80% profit which is Rs.24. And add some Misc costs such as packing, transport, labour, etc. I have set my MRP to Rs.105 and give a profit cut of 25% of MRP to shop keeper. Here I don't do the RLP = MRP -marginxRLP. Am I wrong in doing straight forward calculations? What's the loss in not doing RLP way of calculation? Is it too big a loss? Thank you
Thanks Sir for sharing the valuable information with us 🙏 I have one request for you please make video on modern trade . Keep it up this work & God may bless you 🎉👍
Sir.. Looks some corrction required on the calculation of RLP after FOC. Let us put FOC as 2 in 22 pieces.. So retailer will get 24pieces for 28.57x22.That means he get 24 pieces for 628.5 which means 26.19 per pc. This difference came up when you calculate 2/24 which is not equal to 8..This fraction will make the difference and the retailer will get crazy when he see his margin is reducing... 😄 😄 Retailer is always keeping a sword to fight with us.. 😄 😄
Sir pls do make a video on how to calculate comapanies budget spending on scheme (Pro rata) ? And pls explain why companies give some sort of fixed discount?
3:24 Calculation :- MRP - MARKUP%= RLP 20 - (8% x 20) = RLP 20 - 1.6 = 18.4 NOW FOR THE SCHEME RLP X 2% = FRLP 18.4 x 2% = 1.368 FINAL MARGIN = 1.368 + 0.368 = 1.968 Kindly tell me where is this (1+8%) coming up
Let me clarify (RLP after scheme- 06:58) RLP is Rs.28.57/- (Total to pay - 22 pcs*28.57=628.54/-, 2 pc extra, hence 628.54/24=Rs.26.19/- is net price) According to your calculation (26.28*(22+2)=630.72/-, ie, 2.18 rupees extra) Please clarify
What shall be DPL when Trader and Scheme Discount both applicable. Will it be on RLP deducting margin or RPL after deducting margin and scheme discount
DLP or the Distributor Landing Price does not change with Trade Schemes. Trade Schemes are for Retailers. Only in case the Company provides some Primary Scheme or Temporary Price Reduction to Distributor, will the distributor's margin increase temporarily
Sir I am little confused profit is calculated from selling price means mark down example profit=MRP-landing price/selling price then figures will be different in this example I am asking you because it's bit of confusing for me
Most companies in FMCG use Markup margin. The difference in Markup and Markdown is explained in the video. Let me know if you have any specific question/confusion
excellent explanation sir. I have a small doubt. Retailer landing price after scheme is mentioned as 26.28 while RLP before scheme 28.57. Now, you have calculated DLP based on RLP before scheme which comes to 27.20. Now if the distributor is selling to retailer on scheme, he is making a loss. Can you please explain how it works. Thank you

Sir what is 1.15 or flat 15 percent margin If product's MRP is 20 Then some company says to retailers there is 1.15 margin means 20/1.15= 17.39 will be RLP While 15 percent margin will be 20*0.15= 17 will be RLP
I got this question if a retailer gets a product which is 80 rs and he sold it to 90 how much percentage margin gets to the retailer.plz hel p with a formula.
Usually, It is not in practice. It only complicate things. But there are few companies, who deducts the GST from PTR and applies scheme % on the balance amount.
Can you please post the same video taking GST input credit at both at the retailer and Distributor level? Presume GST to be 5% and the MRP of the product at Rs.99. If the retailer margin after adjusting input GST credit is 18% and the distributor margin at 10% after adjusting GST input credit. With GST in place, we need to take the input credit into consideration.
Sir, please mention approximate Retail Margins for product categories. Without mentioning company name also it would be fine since we just need basic information.

Hi Sir, there is an error in the calculation method used to find the landing price of the items with free SKUs. The free SKUs have been split on a base of 24, while it should actually be split on a base of 22, as the retailer is not paying for the 2 free items. In this case, the RLP would be 28.57 - 9.09% (which is 2/22). The sell-in rate turns out to be Rs. 25.97, and not Rs. 26.19.
The scheme is 22+2, in other words, on 24 pieces he gets 2 pieces free. How do you calculate Buy 1 Get 1 Free? this is 50% discount because 1/(1+1) = 50%, What is Buy 2 Get 1 Free? This is 1/(2+1) = 33% discount. Same way Buy 22 Get 2 Free = 2/(22+2) = 8%. Hope now you have understood the calculation
So confusing to understand better sir you should clearly explain the concepts with simple example so that peoples can understand the concepts easily anyway thank you for information

3:24 Calculation :-
MRP - MARKUP%= RLP
20 - (8% x 20) = RLP
20 - 1.6 = 18.4
NOW FOR THE SCHEME
RLP X 2% = FRLP
18.4 x 2% = 1.368
FINAL MARGIN = 1.368 + 0.368
= 1.968
Kindly tell me where is this (1+8%) coming up
