As someone whose parents divorced when I was 2, I'm grateful all the time that they didn't stay in an unhappy marriage just for the sake of "staying together for the kids." You're not only doing right by you, but you're doing right by Aiden, who will adjust to this like we all do. You and your son both deserve happiness, and sometimes that means having parents who aren't together (but are happier for it).
I love how you're not going into details over your divorce because you're being magnanimous by not bad mouthing the other party. This is the part where I doubt I can do that if I'm in your position. A baby really change our life, and also show our partners' (and friends) true colors! My daughter's father's a great guy, but a lot of "friends" disappeared since the baby was born... and when I was pregnant they were like "oh, we're going to be visiting every week", but in 1 year and a half... not once. Stay strong, you're awesome person and amazing mommy! ♥
apparently not everybody wants to include a new mommy and baby to their outings. since I didn't have the option (neither wanted) to leave my baby at home with somebody else, I usually had to decline many invitations because the places they invited weren't exactly baby-friendly. I feel like I'm being entitled, like they had to consider the best places FOR ME, but the truth is I felt really lonely during the first months. also only a few visited me at home (I can really count them in one hand). not all of them are like this, though.
Here's a benefit of doubt for you. Some of them don't stop being friends with you just because you're pregnant or have a baby. It's the way you made them feel; like they're no longer your friend and is not one of your priority. I had a close friend who did that without considering my feelings and did not contact me for months while she went out with someone else and forgot my existence. I realised that she found her new interest so I left by myself. She contacted me afterwards when it was her son's baby shower, but I didn't get back to her. That's one possible reason why they stopped being a friend. Some people are like what you've said, but there are others who aren't. Doesn't necessarily mean they don't hang out with you just because you're a mother now. :)
Momo I mean the one who has the baby doesn't have to make as much effort as you she's clearly busy/ was pregnant/ having a baby. Try being considerate.

Hey Suzy. I started following you when you uploaded the Park Bom make up tutorial so it's been a few years now. I kind of sensed the break up a while ago when you uploaded a video (I think it was a vlog) and you were saying how physically tired you were feeling and mentioned like Tommy and you were having a hard time adapting to the new routine and were arguing a lot. We live in the 21st century and I know for some cultures like Asian and in my case Eastern European you grow up with a mentality of you get maried and you have kids and that's it, but really what's important is your happiness and your child's happiness. A baby really change our life, and also show our partners' (and friends) true colors! My daughter's father's a great guy, but a lot of "friends" disappeared since the baby was born... and when I was pregnant they were like "oh, we're going to be visiting every week", but in 1 year and a half... not once.

why did your friends disappeared though?
apparently not everybody wants to include a new mommy and baby to their outings. since I didn't have the option (neither wanted) to leave my baby at home with somebody else, I usually had to decline many invitations because the places they invited weren't exactly baby-friendly.
I feel like I'm being entitled, like they had to consider the best places FOR ME, but the truth is I felt really lonely during the first months. also only a few visited me at home (I can really count them in one hand). not all of them are like this, though.
Here's a benefit of doubt for you. Some of them don't stop being friends with you just because you're pregnant or have a baby. It's the way you made them feel; like they're no longer your friend and is not one of your priority. I had a close friend who did that without considering my feelings and did not contact me for months while she went out with someone else and forgot my existence. I realised that she found her new interest so I left by myself. She contacted me afterwards when it was her son's baby shower, but I didn't get back to her. That's one possible reason why they stopped being a friend. Some people are like what you've said, but there are others who aren't. Doesn't necessarily mean they don't hang out with you just because you're a mother now. :)

Hey Suzy. I started following you when you uploaded the Park Bom make up tutorial so it's been a few years now. I kind of sensed the break up a while ago when you uploaded a video (I think it was a vlog) and you were saying how physically tired you were feeling and mentioned like Tommy and you were having a hard time adapting to the new routine and were arguing a lot. We live in the 21st century and I know for some cultures like Asian and in my case Eastern European you grow up with a mentality of you get maried and you have kids and that's it, but really what's important is your happiness and your child's happiness. You're a great mum and I'm sure something very good is awaiting in the future. All the best😙

I can totally understand you Suzy! Being a mum is not as glamorous as people imagine. I struggled for 4 years trying to balance my work and my baby! So I quit my long term job just to be a good mum. As a child of a single mom I can say that now (as I'm an adult and looking back on my childhood) my mom didn't have it easy but it made me respect and admire her that much more knowing the journey she's been through. I broke up with my husband as well when my baby was just 2months, it is so hard still, although it is the best decision I've made in my life. Just like you, I imagined it was forever and because of my view on family and partnership my healing is more difficult. Tommy lost SOOO much that he doesnt even know and he never will. I still remember the first video I watched on your channel was your daily make up tutorial with a Korean song from "After School" for back ground music: ) To be honest, I didn't really followed you as much due to the fact I didn't really like the way you put on so much eye make up 😅 But I started to like you once I watched your vlogs. I was so happy for you when I see the proposal surprise he had did for you, your wedding video, announcement of Aiden's exsit，gender reveal，name reveal and birth video etc. I am a fist time mum too，your experience in video helped me so much to go through all the bitter sweet moment after I've gave birth to my son. I was once wanted to name my son Aiden as well because I want my child to be as beautiful as yours. Looking at pictures of how fast Aiden have grown and how beautiful he is，it again shown all the hard work you have done.
I knew something had happened to you since I've realised you haven't been update youtube for over 7 months，but gladly I still see you on instagram so I know you are still safe and fine. I was so looking forward to see you update on youtube，but when I was so happy to see your face again on youtube and click into the video without looking the title，I was so heart breaking to see what you have been through. I've been following you for a while now, from you being pregnant to giving birth to Aiden, and now? Now you're a strong independent woman who doesn't need a man who don't deserve you. Keep hustling, keep it positive and work hard for your baby boy. I know a situation can seem so bad to make the positive things unthinkable, but at the end, is what you want that matters.
I need to be honest, I'm happy for you, happy that you got out of a critical situation for Aiden's future and yours too. And one more thing, I was a little worried when I didn't see activity from you anymore. It really isn't a big deal if you take more time to make videos (unless it's your main job), I feel like the longer a video takes the better the quality. So no pressure, take care of yourself and prioritize what is more important for you.

Big hug Suzy, lately I've been through the same situation and I'm a mother of two beautiful girls, the little one only two when we separated. I have to say it's better to stay out of a relationship which no longer working anymore then suck it all in just stay for the sick of children. It's not easy being a single mum but every time when I look at my two beauties I feel so blessed and proud of myself.
