Something positive from 2020... I got to see my brother, nephews, and baby niece! It had been a full year, so it was nice to spend time with them and see how the children have grown. :)
I retired after 37 years with the same employer, bought some watercolors and books (including yours) and am finding a new creative energy. Bad year in so many ways, but this journey has been my saving grace. Painted 63 thank you cards for former coworkers.
The best thing that has come out of 2020 for me is that I’ve discovered how much I thrive on creativity. I’ve had a long time love of succulents, but it was only this year that I found the time to really focus on design and plant a well thought-out succulent rock garden. Then as my body was getting tired I needed to switch it up to an indoor activity and I’ve discovered art. I started with mixed media thinking it would be easiest since I’m not great at drawing, painting, etc., but now it’s got me wanting to learn as many art forms as possible! Thank you for the great tutorials!
One great thing about 2020 and this year of the lockdown and pandemic is that I found my inner creative child. I live with and take care of my dad and he suffers from dementia. It was hard when this pandemic hit, but slowly I discovered things I have always wanted to learn to do and did not have time to do. So I have learned so many things and I feel so creative. I have made lemonade out of lemons. I have learned the art of quilling and I have learned to love watercolors. I took a class through zoom and I absolutely love watercolors. I have even sold a few of my paper quilling jewelry and I have taught a few of the neighborhood kids one on one, the art of quilling and a bit of watercolor fun. This creativity has helped my mental state and I am not stressed because of how hard it is to take care of my dad I found I have more patience now and I am a much happier human being. Thank you for your lessons.
The best thing that happened to me this year was the birth of my third Grand baby, Jensen. And I am very fortunate that all three of our grandkids and their parents, live here with us so there is never a dull moment in our house. It definitely made for some interesting times during quarantine! Your videos have been so helpful for us to help teach the little ones watercolor, thank you! This year my daughter got married. On the bright side it was very, very small, so not a nightmare to arrange. More time available to watch your great videos and paint.
The best thing thats happened for me this year is learning how to be creative with art, specifically watercolors! My best friend was always trying to get me to paint with her so I finally painted with acrylic and I liked it but I didn't feel like it was the right "look". So for my birthday I asked my boyfriend to get me some watercolors. Typically with hobbies I jump in and then slowly stop. But I immediately fell in love with the way pigment bursts into water and how its totally unpredictable. The first day I pulled them out I watched your easy watercolor flower tutorial; since then I've completed 2 full workbooks and I'm working on my third! Watching your videos and reading your books has helped me so much with learning watercolor and its technique. I'm so happy I've found a hobby that makes me feel such joy and a way to express myself. 💛💚💙💜
This year I made the personal choice to pay most of my attention to the left side of my brain (that had been neglected for most of my life). In that process, I rediscovered watercolor and discovered your chanel. Thank you 💙

Honestly, the one thing that has happened to me this year was discovering watercoloring! I started near end of 2019 but it has been my joy all year. I also thank you for being my first teacher. I'm happy that I came across your videos and books. I rediscovered my mother's passion for watercoloring. I had a heart attack in 2018 and I discovered Jenna's book and videos which helped me get through and find peace that was actually healing. Thank you, Jenna. Look forward to more.

Empty head space away from my intense work as a community mental health nurse for the elderly happily working through the pandemic😊 I celebrated 34 years of marriage a week ago, and we even managed a socially distanced meal out.🥰
Something good that's happened in 2020. The opportunity to go somewhere I've always wanted to came up this year and I'm doing it! Have been planning for 5 months, and in two weeks I'm on my way to the pacific north west! Everything has worked out as planned even a new apartment. So during a year that has truly been very rough, I'm grateful and Blessed. 💜💜 Thanks for sharing the poppy video! It's really pretty and I found the brush directions for the petals really helped my technique. 😊 can't wait to watch and try your other videos.

About a year ago, I bought your watercolor book, “Everyday Watercolor “. Because of that book you have helped me get back to my artwork. I love watercolors so much, but have always been so afraid to delve into actually doing watercolors. I have all my paints, beautiful papers, a nice collection of brushes, some really great books, yet I grit my teeth to actually start something. I have watched so many of your videos and I have actually found myself picking up my paint brush and painting!! It’s a miracle!!! I am elated by the fact I have actually painted some things!!!! You are a true inspiration to me and I love your work and style. You are an incredible artist and I thank you every day for getting me to actually paint. The first thing that comes to mind of the many blessings in 2020 is a new bible study at my church for the emotional and spiritual healing of women who are post abortion. I feel so humbled to be a part of their journey to guide them thru their process.
It's been a not so good year for many people. However, I'm grateful that for three things - that I'm able to be with my family (and my dog) after staying away from home for the past 8 years. being able to independently support my family financially... That's has been a big blessing! And realising that I want to be a creative business owner and working towards it!❤️

Yes 2020 has been very very negative but it has given us enough time to enjoy with family to spend time with them which we have forgotten about due to work and stuff. It has given us time to understand what we want for ourselves. To understand ourselves better, to find peace for ourselves and love.. Most importantly given us time to breathe.. ❤️
The greatest thing that happened in 20/20 is that I became a great-grandmother for the first time! A beautiful baby girl named Charley Anne. I adore her. And thanks for having us concentrate on the good of this year. I'm sure we've all got a ton of sadness. Thanks for shining a light on the good.

Was at the organic market today and they had THE most gorgeous poppies!! The best thing about this year is that spending time alone gave me a Chance to get to know myself and really build my relationship with God. Oh, and I have a third thing: Starting to paint and draw and seeing my skills improve - more than partly thanks to your videos tbh! I hope it's okay I ask a question unrelated to the give-away: If my budget doesn't allow for buying as expensive a scanner as the one you're using, what would you say minimum DPI is in order to get good results? I've found a 1200x1200 DPI scanner that's more within my budget, but if that's not gonna give me proper results it'd just be waisted money, so I wondered if you have any thoughts on this?

I had successful heart surgery in June (originally scheduled for late March!). as so many people have commented, my creative side has blossomed all over the place, beginning with sewing moving to creating my own fabric and now painting. you are an inspiration, Jenna!

1. We were able to fly back home to Japan after being in lockdown for 4 months in the USA. 2.it has been a joy to see my daughter take such courage in going to public school and learning everything in a second language and for her to pick it up and begin to understand it in a second language as she is learning the second language.
With so much time at home, I have finished a lot of my half-completed quilting, knitting, and crocheting projects. I’ve also made presents for my grandchildren. Next up is more time for watercolor. You make it look so easy!
First of all thank you for your beautiful tutorial. This year has been an amazing adventure as I watch my new granddaughter develop and grow. No matter what she always brings me joy, laughter and the feeling my heart is growing with incredible love! I love that my art work lines the wall above her crib so a part of me is always with her.
Love it! Great thing that happened this year...... because of the virus we have spent a lot of time fishing this year. We even bought a fishing boat and the fishing has been amazing. We found this great spot and I couldn’t believe how awesome this fishing spot is. we go with our son and the Large mouth bass are huge... it’s our secrete place. 🎣💕😊😎 love your painting... always bright clean colors. BTW... I bought all your favorite paint colors.
Dear Jenna, this tutorial is SO NICE. I feel like you really showed the strokes and placement more closely for us mobile users (yay) and I am confident that I can do it too! I've recently painted through everyday watercolour and it's so amazing! I painted almost everyday and it has given me so much peace of mind. So if I am thankful for anything in 2020 it is that I discovered watercolour, making the choice to paint more (or at all!) and having found peace amongst the madness. Three great things have happened this year: 1) My youngest daughter (who has lupus) and her husband bought a house only 5 minutes from us so now I can help out more, 2) My other daughter is getting married this month, and 3) I FOUND YOUR CHANNEL in 2020 and look forward to each and every video. 2020 has been rough, but the circumstance has allowed me to reconnect and rekindle some hobbies...baking...painting...gardening...just finding new appreciation for the small things since we've all slowed down a bit.

there's a few good things that happened this year . almost of my medical appointment have gone vrirtual ive joined a support group for my vision loss and have started volunteering with the institute for the blind as a way of giving back to an organization thats helped me and others with vision loss live a better life. there are other great things that have happened but those are the highlights 😊

Hi ! something great and transformational happened this year making it an incredibly great year for me! It made me reclaim by brushes and easel after as many as 20 years of long hiatus from painting! I have done a bunch of paintings (acrylics,watercolours, etc) which have been immensely liked on social media by friends and family. I went on to buy enormous quantities of art supplies and connected with a plethora of artists in the art community. And by the way bought both your books and yes have followed all your brilliant advise from your art school, like buying the 6 and 16 number Princeton brushes for doing watercolors. Thank you for the beautiful demo, Jenna. The most amazing thing that has happened to me in 2020 is growing closer to my husband of 9 years. We have had great quality time playing games and discussing world events. I also organized my art supplies.
2020 has brought out my creative side. due to the lockdown, I have picked up watercolor painting, calligraphy and jewelry making with wire. they have all helped me relieve the stress of being confined. COVID will not defeat me. Thanks for your tutelage Jenna
Jenna, I’m an attorney and Covid still leaves a lot of “down” time, unfortunately. However, your art is the first I saw on here and caught my attention. This changed my perspective on the future, as I am closing in on retirement, which I can’t believe, but need to plan so my life remains full, yet different , from work life! My uncle, now deceased, was an artist, in the Naples area. He preferred watercolor!

Because of the pandemic lockdown - I began learning watercolor painting! This is the best thing that has happened to me so far this year! The beginning of the year started off rough as I had to have a below the knee amputation of my right leg! Plus the pandemic started so yes 2020 has been a very strange year! But having a pause gave us more time to spend with family! And of course time to paint! Starting a new creative Journey is very Exciting and gives me something to look forward to each day!

I retired this year from teaching - reading specialist at a middle school - but it started unexpectedly early because of COVID. Started painting with watercolors again after a 30-year hiatus. The first thing that comes to mind of the many blessings in 2020 is a new bible study at my church for the emotional and spiritual healing of women who are post abortion. I feel so humbled to be a part of their journey to guide them thru their process.

It's been a not so good year for many people. However, I'm grateful that for three things - that I'm able to be with my family (and my dog) after staying away from home for the past 8 years.
being able to independently support my family financially... That's has been a big blessing!
And realising that I want to be a creative business owner and working towards it!❤️

You are my absolute favorite! ❤️ You are the reason i love watercolour so much and i just am waiting to have the money to buy princeton brushes.. I never get the strokes from the local ones.. Yes 2020 has been very very negative but it has given us enough time to enjoy with family to spend time with them which we have forgotten about due to work and stuff. It has given us time to understand what we want for ourselves. To understand ourselves better, to find peace for ourselves and love.. Most importantly given us time to breathe.. ❤️
The greatest thing that happened in 20/20 is that I became a great-grandmother for the first time! A beautiful baby girl named Charley Anne. I adore her.
And thanks for having us concentrate on the good of this year. I'm sure we've all got a ton of sadness. Thanks for shining a light on the good.

If my budget doesn't allow for buying as expensive a scanner as the one you're using, what would you say minimum DPI is in order to get good results? I've found a 1200x1200 DPI scanner that's more within my budget, but if that's not gonna give me proper results it'd just be waisted money, so I wondered if you have any thoughts on this?

I had successful heart surgery in June (originally scheduled for late March!). as so many people have commented, my creative side has blossomed all over the place, beginning with sewing moving to creating my own fabric and now painting. you are an inspiration, Jenna!

Hey friend!!!!!! I have to say I have lived this year. So much time to feel empowered. My most positive thing about this year is learning to paint watercolour. It’s made my spare time heaven time. You are my inspiration 🙏
1. We were able to fly back home to Japan after being in lockdown for 4 months in the USA. 2.it has been a joy to see my daughter take such courage in going to public school and learning everything in a second language and for her to pick it up and begin to understand it in a second language as she is learning the second language.
Staying with my baby girl and see her grow and evolve everyday.. this has been precious for me 💕

With so much time at home, I have finished a lot of my half-completed quilting, knitting, and crocheting projects. I’ve also made presents for my grandchildren. Next up is more time for watercolor. You make it look so easy!
First of all thank you for your beautiful tutorial. This year has been an amazing adventure as I watch my new granddaughter develop and grow. No matter what she always brings me joy, laughter and the feeling my heart is growing with incredible love! I love that my art work lines the wall above her crib so a part of me is always with her.

Love it! Great thing that happened this year...... because of the virus we have spent a lot of time fishing this year. We even bought a fishing boat and the fishing has been amazing. We found this great spot and I couldn’t believe how awesome this fishing spot is. we go with our son and the Large mouth bass are huge... it’s our secrete place. 🎣💕😊😎 love your painting... always bright clean colors. BTW... I bought all your favorite paint colors.

Dear Jenna, this tutorial is SO NICE. I feel like you really showed the strokes and placement more closely for us mobile users (yay) and I am confident that I can do it too! I've recently painted through everyday watercolour and it's so amazing! I painted almost everyday and it has given me so much peace of mind. So if I am thankful for anything in 2020 it is that I discovered watercolour, making the choice to paint more (or at all!) and having found peace amongst the madness. Thanks for providing us with all with your wisdom, your tutorials, MILES and laughter.
Three great things have happened this year: 1) My youngest daughter (who has lupus) and her husband bought a house only 5 minutes from us so now I can help out more, 2) My other daughter is getting married this month, and 3) I FOUND YOUR CHANNEL in 2020 and look forward to each and every video. 2020 has been rough, but the circumstance has allowed me to reconnect and rekindle some hobbies...baking...painting...gardening...just finding new appreciation for the small things since we've all slowed down a bit.

Honestly I’ve made a lot more time to paint and my watercolor skills have improved a lot! I also appreciate getting to see my family a lot more.
there's a few good things that happened this year . almost of my medical appointment have gone vrirtual ive joined a support group for my vision loss and have started volunteering with the institute for the blind as a way of giving back to an organization thats helped me and others with vision loss live a better life. there are other great things that have happened but those are the highlights 😊

Best things that have happened to me I’m learning to meditate, spent lots of time tubing down the river with my husband, and celebrating our 24th wedding anniversary.
Hi ! something great and transformational happened this year making it an incredibly great year for me! It made me reclaim by brushes and easel after as many as 20 years of long hiatus from painting! I have done a bunch of paintings (acrylics,watercolours, etc) which have been immensely liked on social media by friends and family. I went on to buy enormous quantities of art supplies and connected with a plethora of artists in the art community. And by the way bought both your books and yes have followed all your brilliant advise from your art school, like buying the 6 and 16 number Princeton brushes for doing watercolors. Thank you for the beautiful demo, Jenna. The most amazing thing that has happened to me in 2020 is growing closer to my husband of 9 years. We have had great quality time playing games and discussing world events. I also organized my art supplies.
2020 has brought out my creative side. due to the lockdown, I have picked up watercolor painting, calligraphy and jewelry making with wire. they have all helped me relieve the stress of being confined. COVID will not defeat me. Thanks for your tutelage Jenna

Jenna, I’m an attorney and Covid still leaves a lot of “down” time, unfortunately. However, your art is the first I saw on here and caught my attention. This changed my perspective on the future, as I am closing in on retirement, which I can’t believe, but need to plan so my life remains full, yet different , from work life! My uncle, now deceased, was an artist, in the Naples area. He preferred watercolor!
So covid has cancelled all my trips, so instead we started camping and it’s been amazing getting back into nature!

The beginning of the year started off rough as I had to have a below the knee amputation of my right leg! Plus the pandemic started so yes 2020 has been a very strange year!
But having a pause gave us more time to spend with family! And of course time to paint!
Starting a new creative Journey is very Exciting and gives me something to look forward to each day!

I retired this year from teaching - reading specialist at a middle school - but it started unexpectedly early because of COVID. Started painting with watercolors again after a 30-year hiatus. I so enjoy watching your TH-cam tutorials. I try to paint every day. It is very relaxing and fun. My husband is going through some recently diagnosed medical issues so I especially enjoy working/playing with watercolors! It is my Zen!

Hi Jenna. Positive about 2020? The best thing is that I was furloughed from my job for 3 months which allowed me to paint. Paint, paint. I've actually been able to perfect my skills and sell some of my paintings! I'm so excited!
