- I just wanted to emphasize that you don't need thousands of $$$ of overlanding equipment to get out and experience nature! There's an innumerable amount of products out there but sometimes the best way to find out what you really NEED is to go without them.

I’m sure some people might think it’s an overreaction to have the tent elevated for wolves and not bears but there was a national park in Canada a few years back where a wolf broke through the side of a tent and attacked a father while his young daughters were inside with him. Nobody had a firearm because Canada.
😳 yikes that’s terrifying! Are bolt action hunting rifles aloud for self defense at all?
I’m not exactly sure what Canada’s gun laws say about bolt action rifles but the incident was in a campground and another camper kicked the wolf in rear until it ran away.
Personally I live in the states and carry, a .40 or .44 mag with hard cast lead when worried about wildlife.

Not gonna lie there were lots of noises during the night - glad I decided to throw the tent up there. Probably didn’t help I cooked a filet before bed either 😂

@JoshOffroad I had thought about that - but I think the weight of the mattress and the fact that it was memory foam helped me melt into the roof with a low center of gravity 🤣

Hey- if you’ve got the money for them- I’m sure they’re pretty awesome - but with the economy the way it is - I’m sure lots can’t afford them so just wanted to show that a little redneck ingenuity can go a long ways 🤠
@@Austin_SaintOnge not a roof top tent owner yet I am sure that the RTT has its pluses and minuses. I am glad that someone can just head out in their LC with somewhat minimal equipment and have a decent camp. HDJ81 owner here and someday I will be out there…..fast asleep on the sleeping pad inside the truck. lol. Thank you for posting. Also, are you going to do a Cummins swap into the red LC? 😁
@Ghostrider-71 that’s what it’s all about! Diesel 80s are so cool! And yeah the back of the 80 makes for a perfect sleeping platform!
I’m thinking more built 1fz and boost - but that’s a ways down the road. A house or a shop needs to come first as I’m very limited on a space to do any of that at the moment
@@Austin_SaintOnge yeah, I love the 1-HDT diesel, it was meant to be in the cruiser. Mine is RHD and despite all of the “is that an old mail delivery truck?” 🙄 I love it. I hear you on space, a must for all kinds of wrenching projects. I have an early 90’s house with an attached 2 car garage, not much but it worked fine for changing out all of the front suspension bushings and rubber pieces. I am on the hunt for another 80! Hopefully soon. The addiction is real! 😆😁
