I am so impressed by Adele's performance in this film. The breakup sense and the cafe-reuninion are all so heartbreakingly real. I have not seen anything like this for a a long long time.
Yes, she is stunning! And that's an understatement. But in all fairness she should've been nominated for an Oscar. This is one of the best acting performances of all time. She was real and genuine, emotional and superb.
Yes, exactly. I have no idea how she wasn't nominated, it's all political campaigns, or "star" power. Yet, Adele will be a star, she is in her nature, because she is someone to watch.
Brendan Taylor Sadly it was a technicality that she wasn't nominated.Blue should have been i ntheathers in France by september and it was released in october so for a few weeks she missed out on a nomination aswell as the movie missing out on a Best Foreign film nomination and/or win.
She has the most expressive face and stare i ever seen. And also a great sexy warm voice tone like Scarlet for instance, She is very beautiful but it's not this kind of classical beauty. It's more like a girl next door unique charme. She is a peach. I love her. Great future and i will follow her work for sure.
Oh really? Its interesting because i always think shes so classically beautiful. Her face can look classically beautiful even when she just woke up and her hair is a mess
I discovered this movie on Netflix and I'm pretty sure its the best movie I've ever seen. Adele is simply beautiful and from this interview you can tell that her personality is amazing!
RMG DIER Can't wait to see it on Netflix in the Netherlands. Lately I had a chat with Netflix and they still don't know when it will be available. Bummer!
Even with her broken English she's able to explain and answer every question so deeply that it amazes you. She's an extremely talented actress. And i hope she will go beyond our expectations.
Kevin O'Donnell I mean she definitely struggled from time to time but what's important is that she's able to make the connection between words and her obvious knowledge of the English language. She's also able to keep up with a native speaker. The fluidity will come over time but there are those who study languages for years and still can't have an in-depth conversation with a native speaker like she can.
Having now watched quite a bit of Adele it is now clear to me how modest and talented she really is. That's magic in an actor you cannot create. It's a gift and I hope she continues for the rest of her life!
Tom Wood lol 😂 I had thought the same as both léa and Adele's teeth are unique. I thought Gosh what kinda movie is this so unprofessional and not at all glamorous. But I was spellbound by the perfection that seeped deep into my heart. Then I regret why I made fun of this movie. That raw emotions carried me away really.
Finally a film that displays the rawness and relentlessness of heart break after the wonder of intense intimacy without judgement. Such acknowledgement is sorely needed in a society that demands you 'get over' break ups within a few months of them happening and thus burdening the heartbroken with guilt and a feeling of inadequacy for not being good enough, strong enough, smart enough, imaginative enough, 'together' enough to truly move on. I am so grateful for its creation and for the brilliance of Adele and Lea on screen, Viva la France!
God bless who ever casted Adele for this film. So naturally beautiful. Honestly just the perfect example of the celebration of woman. If only Hollywood more actresses looked like her.
I'd lay my hand on the Criterion Edition and finally watched it. Twice within a week. This girl is so humble in this interview. For moments I wonder if she realizes what a great performance she delivered. She raised the bar very high for herself. A actress to reckon with. I hope to see more of her.
Wow. Bravo Adèle. I wasn't expecting her english to be that good! She did a great job especially when you know that we (french people) are not that good in foreign languages!
Yeah, and it's a Latin language, the pronounce is really different and now for your muscles to assimilate. I saw a lot of american complaining about her accent but most of them never even tried learn another language
As Jessica kiang said from the Playlist "This movie is a masterpiece of human warmth, empathy and generosity, because in a mere three hours, it gives you a whole new life to have lived." I didn't want this movie to end and I could have kept on watching Adeles character forever. This is the best performance by an actress in a leading role I have ever seen and she should have been nominated for an oscar.
What a stroke of good fortune for Kechiche to find her. She has a remarkable and captivating on-screen presence. She's a pleasure to watch whether in real life or on film. Her intuitive ability to grasp the meaning of those questions in English belie a certain intelligence. Her English will improve, especially if she gets a chance to make a few movies in English (I hope someone is working on that). A very beautiful woman.
Adele: A true talent, and absolutely gorgeous! I love Blue, from start to finish I was captivated. The chemistry between Adele & Lea is palpable, intimate and intense. The best love story I've seen in MANY moons! Brava to ALL involved.
11 years later I think it’s safe to say that this beautiful love story still resonates with me as I think with tons of other people…as any great masterpiece usually does☝🏼👏🏼I guess it’s the simplicity of its storytelling that makes it truly timeless. And Adele was pure revelation in it♥️
Thank you Adèle, for not changing your beautiful Greek name to fit in in show biz. But then again, considering it's France, I guess you don't have to. You shine on screen and in this interview (despite the fact the interviewer is really creepy and pronounces your name wrong).
After I had watched this movie it dawned upon me that I might have just watched the no1 greatest movie of all time. The Palme d'or awards and others were very much well deserved.
Jane March gave what I've always thought was an incredible performance in the Lover, back in the 1990's. She was 18 at the time. But the reaction then was rather sad, with her talent smothered by smut-bothering prudes. Thank heavens times have changed and this film today and the actresses got the reception and the praise they deserved.
Great interview! Charlie Rose makes really interesting questions regarding the filming, the overall experience and not only focusing on sex scenes. Beautiful girl and artist.
I am so impressed by Adele. She handled so well all these very delicate questions by this guy, defending very well the film, the experience she has been through, naturally, without any effort and any confusion. Many questions were aimed to discover whether there was any mental abuse or manipulation on the set, and she dismissed it very well, explaining the artistic aspects of the method of acting they had. I am amazed by this film even more now, if that even was possible at all, for the excellent choice of the actresses, and excellent results.
Oh wow, I didn't know that she was that young! I can't really say that though because I'm the same age, haha. She's just very mature well beyond her years
I went in not expecting to like this film specifically because of the sex scenes but was blown away by how real they both made it seem and how it wasnt the main aspect of their relationship, just another act people in a relationship would do. This is now genuinely one of my favorite films
People talk and talk about Oscar snubs. Adele absolutely should have been nominated for an Oscar. Her performance is one of the top 5 best performances I have ever seen.
She is gorgeous and what a brilliant movie. Yes theres sex but its way more than that. Its about love, growing up, experiencing! Great performances from both the actresses.
I'd say one of the best film i've watched but for me it's THE best. Haven't seen any film like it before. their acting are just....words can't express it. it's just wonderful. It's more than the graphic explicit scenes tho those scenes are beautiful and so real and raw. it's just the best. well deserve of the gold palm d'or. She's super adorable btw and i've watched Lea Seydoux's other film and you can tell she really is a great actress because her characters so different
It's so weird seeing Adele or Lea with makeup on and their hair done, because in the movie they look so natural. Either way they're incredibly beautifully and most importantly talented.
This movie was 3 hours long but I didn't want it to end. Felt like I was there with them.
your pic man
ikr. awesome film!
I am so impressed by Adele's performance in this film. The breakup sense and the cafe-reuninion are all so heartbreakingly real. I have not seen anything like this for a a long long time.
Same here. The breakup scene was chillingly real. It was heartbreaking to watch and made me cry like a baby.
I felt exactly the same way even made my parents watch it just so they can experience those amazing scenes.
I LOVE HER. ❤
The breakup scene made me cry.
True absolutely
Yes, she is stunning! And that's an understatement. But in all fairness she should've been nominated for an Oscar. This is one of the best acting performances of all time. She was real and genuine, emotional and superb.

It's just one of these movies, that just blows you away,it left a mark on me.
Same :)
Watched this last week, it was absolutely amazing and moving.
It would break my heart if she ever mastered her english. I love her pronunciations and not quite correct use of the english words. It's the sweetest!
She has the most expressive face and stare i ever seen. And also a great sexy warm voice tone like Scarlet for instance,
She is very beautiful but it's not this kind of classical beauty. It's more like a girl next door unique charme.
She is a peach. I love her. Great future and i will follow her work for sure.
A ripe juicy peach
Oh really? Its interesting because i always think shes so classically beautiful. Her face can look classically beautiful even when she just woke up and her hair is a mess
Not classically beautiful? Then who do you consider classically beautiful? She looks like a human doll.
Half Greek half French. Such a good combination !!
She is so beautiful
I discovered this movie on Netflix and I'm pretty sure its the best movie I've ever seen. Adele is simply beautiful and from this interview you can tell that her personality is amazing!
RMG DIER Can't wait to see it on Netflix in the Netherlands. Lately I had a chat with Netflix and they still don't know when it will be available. Bummer!
La Vie d'Adèle was one of the most beautiful films i've seen in my life. She's so professional for her age. So much talent, i love this girl.
Even with her broken English she's able to explain and answer every question so deeply that it amazes you. She's an extremely talented actress. And i hope she will go beyond our expectations.
Broken English? Definitely not. Her English is very impressive.
She already got far beyond my expectations in Blue is the warmest colour. She´s stunningly gorgeous. I loved her in that movie.
The film is excellent and so is the acting.Very well done and they deserved the awards.
Having now watched quite a bit of Adele it is now clear to me how modest and talented she really is. That's magic in an actor you cannot create. It's a gift and I hope she continues for the rest of her life!
Really really love her performance and admire her as a person!
She looks the even more beautiful with no make up on.
Yes! I've said the same thing. Pure beauty needs none.
She really does!
I've grown so accustomed to seeing her bare face that I prefer her with no make-up on.
Of course, she's gorgeous no matter what.
The movie lasted 3hrs, but i didn't feel it.
Adele is so captivating, her gestures; you just want to see more of her, ALL the time!
I can't believe she's 19. And such a stunning actress.
She is so beautiful
One of the best films I've ever seen!
What's behind her eyes, adds so much to her beauty...the incredible smile, dimples, and rabbit teeth help bring it to life..
Not to mention Adele has bugs bunny's teeth that adds to her charm
The movie was amazing and I'm in awe that she was only 18 while they shot the movie. Amazing job. And than you interviewer for doing such a grate job.

Always a pleasure to watch two very talented people just talking together.

Jane March gave what I've always thought was an incredible performance in the Lover, back in the 1990's. She was 18 at the time. I love this girl. And Lea. I hope to see them in many more films :)
I’ve never seen a movie like it. It would definitely go in my all time top 10.

Great interview! Charlie Rose makes really interesting questions regarding the filming, the overall experience and not only focusing on sex scenes. Beautiful girl and artist.
Loved the movie and this actress...

People talk and talk about Oscar snubs. Adele absolutely should have been nominated for an Oscar. Her performance is one of the top 5 best performances I have ever seen.
Love this interview
i love how she says "one people" instead of "one person" lol :-)
How many languages do you speak? :)
3 :)
Good for you. I know you meant it in a good way. She is young, her English will improve, you will see. Not Kechiche's English though. :)
yeah i just found it funny but it was not an insult :) i love her
I pretty much love how she says everything...
She's as adorable in person as she is in the movie...
