This class and the 2 wheel drive trucks are my favorite classes to watch, just can't beat the sound of blower whine and zoomies.
I like the more various types we see here in European tractor pulling modified classes. Lots of V12’s and radials also.
Blown Hemi’s are delightful to watch, but the stomping feel of 3 x RR Griffons is unbelievable.

Got to love America motorsport, if it can use fuel, no matter the type of engine it will be applied to do something spectacularly crazy with, these are amazing.

Well, they were such a pain to start up, and so heavy and powerful, it wouldn't do much except...look nice, a guess? Beside, they're not meant to accomodate a drive shaft, and even if they were, the power output would most likely snap them in half like twigs. But it's still a nice image to have in mind, though ^^

Look up “The Most Smoking Tractor Puller In The World” and you’ll see a twin diesel with a blown alcohol V8 on the front. It’s quite interesting.
@@X3Andy Those are Allison v24 and they can run on darn near anything you feed them. A few pullers in the states still run them mostly on alcohol these days.

So, um... What's up with those dangling hoses? They seem to be crank case ventilation, but at the end of several pulls, they seem to be venting Nitrous. So, I figured that maybe they were using extra nitrous as charge-air coolant and this is some kind of discharge, but then I saw one of them dripping "milk". Is this some kind of clathrate formation, or what's going on here?

Thanks friend. When i was a kid, dad an me went to pulls all the time. He is 85 im 60 an they just dont have em as much no more. But we go to the one in ocala fl every year. Its small but at least we gets our fix 🤣

Yup been to many tractor pulls as a kid and now an adult. Some of these super modified class tractors have 5000+ HP!
What’s causes them to just start spinning at the end?
Watch the thing that they are pulling behind them. The farther they get down the track, the more it shifts weight from the wheeled machine onto a sled that is on the dirt. The farther they get with this constantly increasing load before exploding, loosing traction, or (heaven forbid) running out of power, the higher their position in the competition. ...and that's pretty much everything you need to know about tractor-pull competitions. The rest is spectacle.

Why r they using superchargers instead of turbos
Obviously, Turbosuperchargers would be superior in every conceivable way, since the load increases over time. This leaves one probable answer.: They don't need turbos to meet some power requirement for this competition, and it's too mentally challenging for their pit crews to keep ahead of that many variables for competitions that don't last much longer than it takes a big turbo to spool.
From what I understand, there are different classes of this sport, and the ones that end up with a lot of diesel tractors sometimes have 2 or three stages of turbocharging to get the desired 700PSI of intake plenum pressure.

🚜 What's the financial makeup of these events? How much do the tractor owners pay to enter and how much do the event sponsors pay out to the winners and losers? With the high costs (tractors, parts, crews, travel, etc), hard to believe there can be any money in it for the tractor owners.

Some of them are engine builders. Some own trucking companies and other various businesses. Some do all that plus also farm in addition to that. They all work their butts off essentially.
