You have three games on your list that I really love: Dark Souls the Card Game, Warhammer Quest Adventure Card Game, and Legendary Encounters Aliens! If someone ask to play any of these games I am always willing to play! My three card games I currently love playing are: Aeon's End, Aventuria Adventure Card Game, and Maximum Apocalypse!
Definitely check out Its A Wonderful World! Has a brilliant solo play rule set and plays great multiplayer! One of my newest favorite game purchases. Thankfully came out before the Quarentine. Between this and Cthulhu Death May Die, they have been getting the most play!
Great video, given me some food for thought. I'm a relative noob to board-gaming, watching a lot of top tens and how to plays and I've got to say it's nice to see a new UK face in the community, I'm even prepared to overlook the Rams shirt :). Thanks for this and good luck with the channel.
😆😆 literally spat my coffee out at that 😆😆 Who do you support? I've been gaming for about 30yrs now but media content is very new. If you have any questions on games you like the look of, just ask.
@@NinjaGeekGames Used to be a Bears fan back in the Ditka days. My son's a massive Patriot, my youngest daughter follows some little known LA franchise. I just bought Aeon's End and the Asmodee humble bundle on Steam, and I'm failing miserably at digital Twilight Struggle. @@tonyoates1908 that's cool. I actually played Linebacker for Somerset Wyverns (BAFA DIV 2 team) 2 seasons ago, amazing sport! I just finished Legacy for Aeons which was great. Love all Cthulhu stuff!!
@@tonyoates1908 not played the original, but told it's hard. Legacy is tough but fun vutvthen you can add legacy as expansion cards to core games once done. I have Aeons End new age which is unopened, but I think there may be spoilers if you you play new age first.
Interesting, I can see Aerion on your shelves, a single player focused card game, and it's not on the list. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the game.
Hey, thanks for the question. Firstly, it does appear to be correlated towards if you like the console game...if yes, most people enjoy it off the bat. It also depends on what you like your Dungeon Crawlers to be, if a quick hack and slash, with plenty of glory etc., this won't be for you. This is a slow grind, however, there are house rules availble to progress through the game quicker and to tier the equipment deck (as you can pull a load of stuff suited to a character not in the game). It can be a long, long game but I don't mind that. However, the game mechanics are great. On entering a room, enemies spawn and attack based on taunt level and the Agro token, which is a nice touch. As in the game, enemies have 'set moves' so you can predict where enemies will go to, push other enemies or characters around, or tease them to a particular area. The equipment deck (once amende) is solid, lots of unique stuff with really cool abilities. Health and stamina share the same token bar, making you really think about your turn...do you go all in for a big stamina attack, but risk losing health if you don't suceed?? The bosses are also great, played on double boards, with a field of vision type attack and as the deck is not shuffled, you may be able to read the next move...maybe 😁. It's not the best dungeon crawler around, but it does have nice mechanics and game play that others don't. The art work and components are awesome too. The expansions are expensive so I'd stick with DarkRoot first, then maybe another Boss. However, I do prefer it than some other Dungeon Crawlers that are just simple dice chuckers, at least here you have to think. If playing solo, use 2 characters too. Hope that helps.
Great vid. I’m new to board games, I’m currently looking for a solo game (no friends who are interested in giving them a go). Any ideas where I can buy the Alien game from? Is it out of print now?
I'm not sure if it's out of print. I've seen expansions around? There are different versions of the game from Predator, Marvel, James Bind, Buffy etc. Are you UK based? I think Athena games have the Predator version in stock. Use this link and search Legendary Encounters: athenagames.com/?ref=3m9ut4y555 Thanks for watching!
Maybe don't read the entire script from start to end without looking at the camera. Makes it seem like you know nothing about the games you're talking about. Kinda seems like stifler talking about magic the gathering.....
The Dark Souls card game is terrible, and Warhammer Adventure Card game has been out of print for about 4 years, and is never coming back into print due to FFG no longer holding the Warhammer license. Recommending a bad game is one thing, but recommending one that no-one can buy, unless they want to spend a forune on a second hand copy, is ridiculous.
I like the Dark Souls card game, it's even better with the expansions, makes a good game great. What didn't you like about it? Most of the viewers who've commented on all platforms about my selection also like it too. I think you're one of the only ones who seem to dislike it...doesn't make it a bad game. Personally, I think a bad game is one that is poorly designed, with expansions that don't add value and that a majority therefore dislike. If you re-watch video I replicate your exact words...'WHQ is out of print'. Actually, base game for WHQ is cheap, I've seen it for sale for less than £20 on many occasions and mention this. In fact, a couple of viewers apparently bagged a copy cheap and thanked me for the vid which was nice. I'm therefore happy I encouraged viewers to try and grab a copy at that price. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen a sale post for it at a ridiculous cost...ever. It's the 2 expansions that are expensive, but these aren't needed, they just add variety for hero choice. I also go on to say Heroes of Terrinoth is available which is essentially the exact same game from FFG but a different universe. Therefore, snagging the game at £15 is not ridiculous, it's a bargain and cheaper than the Terrinoth version (and WHQ IP is better IMO). Remember, this isn't a video about the top 5 card games people need to buy, it's a vid for the top 5 card games that got to my table during first part of lockdown. Appreciate the comments and thanks for taking the time to watch 👍

Thanks for the video, you've got me interested in some of these that I might not have known about otherwise!
Good to hear

Great video!! Need to play my copy of Legendary Encounters: Alien
Thank you!! Do you have any of the expansions?
Thank you 🙏
Warhammer Quest has a ton of expansion options.
Only 2 were made available...Troll Slayer and Witch Hunter expansion
Awesome videos Sir. Giving me one hell of a wishlist, Keep it up 🤗😎

Yeah, you're right it's a great game, but class it as a dice game a little more than a card game...
@@NinjaGeekGames Ah, fair enough. That makes sense.
Where'd you get the Arkham game mat?
ETSY for the download then Patriot Games in UK for printing
Great video mate! Lockdown vibes 👍
Thank you buddy!!!

It's awful
Great video! If I'm ordering Dark Souls would you recommend I go ahead and get the expansion as well for maximum enjoyment?
Yeah I would. You then have 8 bosses and 6 characters to play as plus the traps module. There is a second expansion but I've not played that yet.
