Yeah, I just turned 49. I appreciate the advice about entering the fifties as well. I've learned that, although I may have been there/done that with a lot of things, those were my experiences, not someone else's. Everyone's experiences are going to be unique to them and them alone.
As a 23 year old, recently graduated, recently single, and unemployed (Thanks Covid), thank you for that outro. It wasn't aimed at me, but it's advice that I needed right now. Thank you, Colonel, helped me more than I can explain in words.
Happy to help. It took me a very long time to stop being an angry young man, into being a happy middle aged man. The only secret to it all is how you choose to interpret the crap and recognise the good. It all gets better when you start letting go of the pressure you put on the world to make you happy.
These are all opportunities to change where you are heading as when you get employed, it's very hard to change jobs in my experience (out of sheer competence of that job. it's "easy" to stay getting paid, even if you hate that job) So you are now in an ideal timeframe, I was also unemployed at 23 (by my own accord) and it now got me to do freelance stuff along with the same job I went out of but on a better deal (a year later). They only needed to realise I was actually quite good at the job! Graduate? you are ahead of me already. I never went, probably never will now. Then again, never say never. So this is a plus on your CV, employers will look for this if its in the right area for them etc. also your guaranteed to make more than a employee who started where I did (A levels). I had a good grin at the whole transition from "Don't make the same mistakes over and over again" to "OK, dating advice." Yep. Took me a good 37 years to get down to a low enough repeated dating mistake count to, you know, not fail. Yet, anyway. And now there's a lot more riding on not screwing it all up again. Jeez, man. And also, the thing about just letting people think you're wrong.
You don't believe it is good to just let people think, or is it that you agree with the idea that you should just let people think you're wrong without caring? haha. English makes that difficult to interpret the context.
@@TheCriminalViolin I agree. Be ok with not being right in someone else's eyes. The argument is almost never worth the effort or the damage it can cause to a relationship

Long time Lurker, Colonel, but I wanted to give a here-here for the Life Advice.. very solid. If you start a B-channel with occasional real-life stuff, I'd watch it.
As far as turning your PC off when not in use for a longer period - it made sense to leave your PC on 24/7 when drives were still mechanical and the boot-up time was like 2 minutes. Since the advent of SSDs, the boot-up time is like 10-15 seconds, so turning off one's PC is now quite feasible.

16:12 I do still think (without playing the game though) that having "hubs" with direct lines going out to each built up area would be better (sort of like a star shape) and then having a tram to connect them all together in between going in rings. Then your transcon idea doing further out from that connecting all the hubs together. I wonder if the city grows at all? I am guessing not.
Did someone say Los Angeles - Mexico City non stop? (If only he would build San Diego - Los Angeles and Guadelajara - The other place in Mexico, then he could run non-stop).

it may not be worth it due tot he speed reduction, but weirdly I've found it cheaper to just build micro-viaducts instead of overpasses. Those overpasses add up, although personally I try to only use this method for when I need multiple overpasses.
