Colonel, in the USA what youre doing with freight trams was refered to as an "interurban", usually with combined freight AND passenger service on the same routes. The height of this was probably from about 1900 to WW2, primarily in the midwestern states of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa a HUGE system was in California around L.A. and many of the northeastern states had smaller sytems.
True! and i think that service actually connected with the system around L.A ...The Sacramento Northern was the upper section and Pacific Electric (nicknamed the 'red cars" for the paint scheme they wore) was the name of the major system around L.A.
Just a suggestion for putting road underpasses under the tracks: First destroy the railway line, then plumb the road underneath (make sure there is even Too Much clearance), then replace the railway line (now a bridge). At this point, you can destroy the road again and put in your new gradient road, using (I think) SHIFT+M to make small adjustments to the bridge clearance. Works every time for me. Love you videos by the way.
Colonel, you may already be aware of what I am about to reveal, but I shall reveal non the less. If you navigate to the following "steam\userdata\your ID\local\settings" you will find an option titled "experimentalTunnelAndBridgeMinHeight", set this to true and save. Now during the game, building with road or rail will give an option to adjust the depths or heights of said elements. I have now revealed this and feel somehow more complete.
With the recent update, you can change your bridges by just clicking on them and selecting new type of bridge. You don't have to delete and rebuild anymore ... I'm sure the removal of the need to bulldoze will please you lol.
The mod to adjust height requirements would help the underpass tunnel to be positioned up to the trackbed, making it look like one of those gully underpasses
Blast you Colonel. There I was enjoying my life of retirement, eating bonbons and chasing the servant girls. But oh no, you had to bring up TPF2 and now here I am sweating my posterior off in the jungles of SE Asia building railways to take trinkets to the bloody natives. I wish you long expensive tunnels and steep mountain roads to nowhere.😄
Can I give you one reccommendation? That terminus station at Failurewood is begging to be a two-track island terminus. Even if you don't use the second platform, I personally thing it looks better having the second track. Also please have some massive coal trains running merry-go-ground trains (balloon loops on each end). Distributed power is optional.
I think it would be good to have a station in between Ironforge and Silent hill that acts as a junction between the east and west bank lines, connected with busses or having stations also in the cities themselves
You mentioned the lackif green bridges, iirc "jolly green" from tpf1 has been ported I'll se if I can find the url and post it on discord since yt seams to have a rather pronounced disslike of lind
Yay, crossovers have gotten worse since the update... Not to mention there is no way to build something after holding shift to disable the dumb snapping feature
I’m pretty sure evolution is just how he named this series, because it’s had so many updates since his last transport fever 2 series. If it’s a different version of the game I couldn’t find it, so I’m pretty sure it’s just what he’s call this series
@@colonelfailure I am 78 american, watched many wonderful british old movies, loved the actors, miss them and british humor. I always liked the terms lorry, lift, and torch, seems right. just my crude american attempt at humor.
Map was broken for me to use, the Industry was bugged but will watch when the Colonel realesses too those of ous too poor to donate & see all the videos.
Classic Colonel, spends 6m terraforming to preserve a nice looking road with no buildings on it. Love it!

The San Francisco Bay Area had a big interurban service as well until trucking really took hold.
Good knowledge. Thanks.

Love this new series, Colonel. Thanks for getting back to some TF2.
cool to have the longer intro about what happened in between yt episodes

Cargo trams... Now that is a cool notion.. Mod? I cannot remember seeing that before
Yup, lovely mod. Used it a couple times myself already, works like a charm.
Yup. First time I’ve seen the electric one, though; only seen the steam one before.

"Not if I remove it"
Yaaaay bulldoze gun makes a triumphant return!
Hope you're feeling better.

Gah, I've been doing it wrong - I've been having a good time with trains and playing with...

Should take logs on the ship from Failerwood 🤐😶🙈🙊
And may I recomend the "Flying Hamburger", thats a sweeet silver bullet train 😁 🍔
And rename the town to 'Freight-Yer-Wood"!
I'll get my coat.

Playing along with the map at home!
Zero height bridge mod will help with bridges that you want without terraforming land
Beautification work ... will be done eventually. Is it a lap 2 problem by any chance?😉

Colonel, I'm still perplexed about why you don't use topographical contour lines.

Inspires me to fire this game up again.
Is this the longest its taken the Colonel to place a train line in one of his series?
Hey , anyway we can get your mod list? at least the one used for this one. Cheers
Is the cargo tram vanilla or a mod?
So you're going to decorate with the tree gun? or actually are you going to make effort?.
More like Major Failure...
What is the difference between Transport Fever 2 and Transport Fever 2 Evolution ......Just asking as a maby-new player at this game...?
I’m pretty sure evolution is just how he named this series, because it’s had so many updates since his last transport fever 2 series.

@@ryansnyder7444 Okay thanks
He named the map "Evolution"
It's "evolution" as it started with no industry on the map.
how can you call it a truck when everyone knows its a lorry
Yeah, but I'm not 6.

Colonel, what is the mod you use to keep time on 1950? Thanks for the fantastic video as always!
It's not a mod. Go into game speed (bottom left) and drop it to zero.
@ Genius! Thank you!
