The final wave was made out of resin and the wave made for the silicone mold was made out of styrofoam/ the stuff one of the comments was used as insulation
I have an idea for a sculpture!!! You should make the inside of a water silo. like a super tall one with a monster at the bottom! one of my biggest fears is swimming in a silo when the bottom is pitch black. i feel like that would make a really cool phobia episode!

Even though "I crafted it" has a different ring to it when it comes to the shark and the surfer, how you did the wave/water itself with the effects is amazing and the painting skills are great!

It’s only a 10 minuet ride but it’s so unsettling. That could be your inspiration for one sculpture one day!

In this case specifically the manner in which you molded the wave. You used a rubbery substance on the exterior of the sculpt and then enveloped that mold with a mesh/adhesive. I would greatly appreciate even general materials please. Take care.

The wave is made out of 2 part epoxy(resin), if that’s what you’re asking.

This is a heater. It's called Penoplex. This is how I insulated my house during construction
The final wave was made out of resin and the wave made for the silicone mold was made out of styrofoam/ the stuff one of the comments was used as insulation

I believe they just used a 2-part silicone mold mix first, then added a layer of plaster cloth on top of the silicone for rigidity.

Nobody does this kind of thing without lots of practice. If you try long enough you could get really good at it. I know from experience.
