You are so charming and the love and Joy you bring into your Videos is wonderful... Thank You so much! you are a great teacher and your support of the beginners is so precious.... I weep with Joy when I see your lessons not only for expertise but, all-so for warm and friendly instructions.... Love ya! be well!!!!!
You don’t owe anyone an apology for anything. You owe no one anything, yet you take the time to painstakingly teach down to the finest details this disappearing craft, with great aptitude towards teaching nonetheless. I have been able to get where I’m at because of the time and effort that you have expended towards this, I’m sure hundreds of others are too. Great way to honor the craft and your memory of your father. Thank you!
No apology needed, and as for interest in this. It's great to see people like yourself showing how to do this craft. In this age of computers all these crafts are slowly disappearing as the knowledge isn't getting passed on. I am Dutch by birth and for me it is sad to see the slow demise of the Dutch Clog making. There's only a few craftspeople left doing it and the tools are no longer available. People are using tools that are a hundred years old and if no one starts making the tools they craft will eventually vanish. As for size, I am researching this subject to make shop signs for 12th scale miniatures.
Nice to have you back (no pun intended). Quite impressive to have John Downer on board, he definitely inspired me. John if you're listening, hope one of these days you do a few more videos.
Alger C. Always good to see Darla Dee in action, and I’m very glad she is feeling better. Her block lettering is distinctive. It’s her own trademark style, which initially developed from her father’s tutelage, and later stemmed from a number of particularly American influences. (Not least, traveling carnivals and life as a snapper.) I love the authentic strain of her characters. They have grit.
@@johndowner8025 Thanks for that bit of history and feedback Mr. Downer. I sensed a quality about her "style" and nice to hear you confirmed it as well. I got hooked on your Grocery paper sign style, one of my favorites, and always incorporate it in my regular practice routines with the "basics".
Quick, Darla Dee's back, HIDE the 5 point stars with round points! inspired by the previous videos I have been running in a new brush and practising my manta "Darla Dee says I CAN DO this". best regards.
Awe thank you Darla!! I think I speak for more than myself when i say we’re just happy to have you back at the easel!! Looking forward to more great videos. I have a set of Mack flats I’ve been struggling to get out. Looking forward to all the great tips and tricks!! Keep em wet!! And thank you always. Jeff Sikora.
For my easel I mounted a 2x4 on the wall and mounted hinges to it to hold a 4x8 of plywood. The bottom corners have hinges with 1x1s and a rail on the wall to adjust the angle. On the bottom Of the easel have a 1x1 piece of aluminum angle from Home Depot for pencils razors etc. if anyone has any questions feel free to reach out.
Glad to hear you are feeling better! I love your videos and everything you do for us looking to learn. I am a huge fan of your work and look forward to more videos!
