That isn't how you install/remove those balancers. To remove: use your screwdriver to rotate the cam and raise the balancer up. Unhook the top then tilt the balancer horizontally. Rotate the balancer towards you 90 degrees so the ears on the shoe are vertical and then pull it out of the track. To install: Hold it horizontally and rotated 90 degrees so that the spring is facing towards you. Push the shoe into the track and then rotate the balancer so that the spring is facing the track. Tilt the balancer into the track and put the hook into the top hole. Then use your screwdriver to rotate the cam and pull it down to where you want it. Swisco (where you probably got the pivots) sells a replacement 795 series balancer. Looking at how that housing was bowed, you might get a call to replace them both. I couldn't see the top hole but if it's square they have a plug for it so you can screw the top of theirs in. If it's not a square hole, you can contact them. Make sure the shoe is the right width when ordering. Get pivots to match whichever shoes the new ones have. Good luck
