Thanks for this. I did my fluids several years ago and just did them again today and watched this to be sure I wasn't missing anything. I used the new Valvoline gear oil pouches and it was so easy. Highly recommend those to anyone doing this service. You'll have a little left in the pouch, but you can dump it in to one of your other pouches.

I only use Mobil 1 fluids, wish they had the bags.

I say this no every video i watch. Because no one even mentions it. The thing is after you change the oil in the rear differential it’s a good idea to check the vent cap on top of the axle housing. Because if it is plugged up with whatever it can cause pressure to build in the housing and cause the axle seals to leak the diff fluid and that could cause your brakes to go bad. Just a thought.
They are only a few bucks for piece of mind.

What valve did you use to open the line to let fluid transfer into the front diff…Thanks

I planned on using redline 75w90, do you think the gallon jug will be enough?

Those hex bolts are fine. The only reason people strip them out is if they don't clean them out and the socket isn't seated all thr way.

    I vote powersteering.
(I've never actually flushed a power steering unit, just replaced them for various reasons. i.e., noise)

In my case it did not come out so I welded a nut, after that I just changed the oil and left it like that for the rest of its life there welded

Not saying it's a problem, but that's the thinnest 90W gear oil I've seen.

It's all I've used so I don't have a comparison but its been good for 100k miles and 15 years in this truck. Maybe synthetic flows better?
