Great video... I just got the multi one loader. I like the avant machine but the multi one was 4 inches lower..That's a big deal with me because I'm able to drive into garages with no problem. I had two Wacker Nuesan WL wheel loaders , A 30 and 32 , similar to avant approx 48” wide loved them in particular the 32 , bought used from rental co with very low hrs , like 200 hrs 35K , what’s nice is in cab hydraulic connect with locking pins for attachments , very easy and quick , heated cab some with air cond , I sold mine to free up cash to buy the JCB teleskid 2TS-2T later this year , i used mine for my rental property business in PA
The flail mower seems to be between a bush hog and finish mower. As for moving branches after I drop a tree, I use a 6' landscape rake on my 37HP tractor. I drive straight into a huge pile of limbs in H1, drop the rake and never stop moving. Sometimes branches will snag the throttle linkage but that just makes things interesting. I can straddle small trees and use the rake to snag the trunk or for larger ones I keep a chain attached to the boom of the rake. The rake is the only attachment I purchased new and for around $500 it was well worth it! Keep in mind that this is in my own yard or sometimes for a neighbor and not for hire.
Those hammer flail mowers do good until the edges get blunt like anything else. They're reversible though and last decent if you don't mow nuggets, well I guess the hammers we ordered were reversible. You'll get one hell of a surprise the first time you shear the bolt on a flail ( i.e the reason it spins backwards) because it will spit that thing out a looong ways!! Then it's an eater egg hunt for the tooth and the bushings for it, I've only ran an old clapped out boom flail and tractor with hammers on our county roads and some forest service roads so you have to angle the boom back a bit when mowing brush so the hammers get pitched out into the woods instead of down the damn road at cars
I'm with you the mini skid steers definitely beat dragging brush by hand but run one all day long and it's like riding a bull for 8 hours the way they buck in bounce in you have to hang on in sway with them Personally I have found a Bobcat T595 with a scrap grapple on the front is about the ideal setup for moving in handling brush the flat bottom bucket allows you to scrape the roads clean and load mulch and rake up as well as get up stump mulch and never have to change attachments. I can pick up sticks out of the grass without messing up the grass once you get used to the scrap grapple bucket And I feed the chipper with it all day long we almost never touch brush by hand anymore The 595 seems to be about the perfect size small enough to fit everywhere but big enough to still handle a good size log or tree top I load the dump truck with it with pulp logs as well. 90% of the time if we have to go through a gate we just set up the Crane in Crane the brush out so getting through a 36" opening is not that important to us
This machine looks pretty neat I would really like to run one and try it I don't think it would fit into our business plan too well but would still be fun to check out
My uncle used to have one of those mowers that was similar but the teeth were more triangulated on each side. Probably 3x wider that he’d run behind his tractor. Gave almost a golfcourse finish.
I'd love to have one of these to replace my tractor I hate 3 point hitches and PTO shafts. And everything is better when your implements are on the front and you dont have to crane your neck around to see whats going on.
I don't understand why you didn't buy the Avanta 650. Not that much more money. Twice as much hp and almost twice the top speed. Having said that, this is a quality machine and not some ventrac crap, for example.
The problem with Ventrac is that they are fairly useless at anything other than mowing and small dirt work. The Avants are a lot more versatile with over 200 attachments.
Mowing that field would have been much better with the Ventrac. Both pieces of equipment have their place. If I had to choose one over the other, I would choose a Ventrac. They are amazing & highly productive. Also, beginning of video where this Avant is spinning in mud, a Ventrac with the dual wheels, would have just floated thru that muck no problem.
If your gonna brush hog with a zero turn I recommend 37hp turf tiger 2 with the pto drive and the thickest blades in the industry. We mow alot of ex hayfields with it. If sapplings over 2inch or crap tons over an inch the flail mower is better. For this application a z would kill it! I still want an Avant though. However just ordered scl1000

I'm looking at an Avant 423. It looks small enough that I could haul it with my minivan and be under USDOT thresholds.

Between the mower and the loader-arm are 3 linkages so the mower can float
