    That’s an interesting engine, considering most US heavy trucks have in-line six cylinder engines. You just don’t see V-8 diesels that much now except in European trucks. The only V type engines that used to be popular in the US were the Detroit Diesels. The E-9 has a distinctive sound too.

    Wow you caught the bar just in time. Would love to see pictures or video of her restoration.

    I love the look and sound of this truck, I’ve seen you on Matt’s channel hauling stuff for him. Can I ask from an enthusiasts point of view, why does it sound like it has a miss, I know there would be a reason but I don’t know it. Maybe you have covered it in another episode, if so could you reference it for me. Love what you are doing with your channel, your content, commentaries and camera work are a credit to you.

    Smart bloke and a very neat Superliner, worth a fortune here now in Australia, well done.

    Sam what I use to do on the old E6 engines to get more torque was to take that 5/8 nut off the rear of the governor housing take the right size allen wrench fish it in that opening and back that screw out 1 to 2 turns and see how that does and you can always open the rack later if you want 😉

    Sam, you and Matt need to go on a trip with the bulldozer with grandpa’s with your grandpa’s old truck and it’s super dog and y’all should go to a job site. It would just be a cool video I don’t know if you’re really wouldn’t know.

    Looking for some wisdom and insight. Have a 1979 v8 Mack that doesn’t run right. Info on where to source a ambac injection pump would be great.

    Nice truck beautiful engine 1 of my favourite all so notice it’s inter cooled is that original V8 super liners in Australia were never inter cooled to my knowledge

      Thank you! All of the E9s I have seen in the states have been air to air intercooled. I think the older ENDT 1000 was the non intercooled version.

    Beautiful! Very detailed on the timing setup. Thank you. What electronic fuel pump are you using?

    beautiful truck and love the v8 power how come you had the timing so far advanced are you running bigger injectors and turbo or were you just seeing if it would make more power that way keep the videos coming of the mack!

      Thank you! I had it cranked up to 25 degrees trying to lower the EGTs. While it did help with that I did not like how it ran. I am running a borg 475 and marine injectors. It made 800 hp at the crank when I ran it on the dyno before i put it in the truck.

    Whats the torque rating on the E9 500?

    • @ScrappyIndustries
      @ScrappyIndustries  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      From the factory, the 500 hp units were 1660 ft-lbs. With the torque limiter cam removed and the fuel turned up this engine was closing in on 3,000 ft-lbs on the dyno

    How hard is it to remove the v pump.!

      Idle jumps all over,and it's a pain in the butt to get it started,it sounds like it's trying to run away sometimes.!!

      I’m having similar problems lol I bought an inline P Pump hoping to install this winter. The pumps are not physically hard to remove. The problem with the Ambac pumps are parts are getting scarce and people who know them as well
