I keep trying, lol. I just can’t get it.
I don’t know if this will help but what I do is I set my tablet on the stand. I go into the settings and slow the video down. I stop at the part of the video I need help with then I watch the next part of the video and do that step, then I start the video and watch the next part, etc. I have to keep going back but I found that this helped me a lot. I also tilt my head over so I’m looking at my feet. It’s easier then keeping my head straight and looking into mirror. That was part of the problem I was having. I hope this makes sense and that this helps you.

I find I make the best messy buns when I’ve had it with my hair being in my face I take a hair tie off my wrist and do it standing up, or sitting on the couch or on a hike. But this morning I tried to do this technique in the mirror and I just wasn’t having it.
I was at work, and a customer and I was talking about buns and I told her about you, she knew just who I was talking about lol ❤️ we are both a bit older but really like your videos

I literally just realized when I put a tie in my hair, the side I twist (therefore the hand) is opposite of the side I hold the hair!!! 😮😂❤

I can get the bun up there, but my hair doesn’t seem to pull and lay like yours no matter what I do. I can do the bun with the claw clip, so I am satisfied. 😊
You might need products to get your hair to hold the shape. Dry texture spray can help a ton!
What if your hair is really long?
For really long you wrap the hair 2-3 times instead of once
