Lockdown is a strong word considering that Finland hasn't really had a proper lockdown compared to other European countries. Also regarding spring - it hasn't really started yet. Just wait until late April and especially May and then it's gorgeous when everything turns green in just a couple of weeks. That's one thing I love about Finland in that we really do have four distinct seasons and you can appreciate the good moments when they come.
I get what you mean by lockdown, but it’s anyhow lockdown. That’s how government and media called it 🙂 and yes, it hasn’t been as bad as in Croatia for example, when people couldn’t leave their homes last year. About the spring.. I know that it is a sensitive topic for Finnish people, but I consider spring starting in March, as it starts like that in my home country where we have a bit more proper 3 month of each season per year. At least in Northern part of Croatia where I’m from. 🙂 We always have the same discussions with my Finnish boyfriend at home, so I get your point. But this is just my perspective :)
@@TootsieBlabber well see Finnish media likes to use big words so we'd feel we are part of the gang of Europe ;) "Oh we don't have so bad situtation that we need to restrict movement but we have to do it because it's done elsewhere!" Finland has had always need to "fit in" in Europe/EU. To be in nuclear of EU. I also had to ask.. 3rd lockdown? Isnt this 2nd time restaurants have been closed in? (Sorry I live in very covid free part of th county) And terms of spring. March is spring month. We have four seasons so Mar, Apr, May are spring, June, Jul, Aug are summer, Sep, Oct and Nov are autumn and that leaves Dec, Jan and Feb for winter. I once talked some Americans who talked January as "spring". It's always funny to see weather reaction. I was in Prague two years ago in early April and it was +20 ( aka normal summer in Finland) and there was no A/C on in stores/restaurants because "it's cold and spring" My husband really didn't like this "excessive heat" and first thing on Monday morning we had to go buy him shorts (he only had jeans with him). In Munich cafe did not sell ice coffee "because it's too cold". It was +17c. Again normal Finnish summer weather.
@@duckeh1952 Yap, it’s interesting to see how we all look at the same world, same life situations, even weather or lockdowns with different eyes. That’s the beauty of life 🙂
The spring is just getting here. Birds are returning and any day now new leaves are starting to bud. Everything is so vibrant. Around Mayday (Vappu) is my favorite part of the year. You don't need any jackets but it's also not too warm that you need shorts etc. while outside.
I've been depressed for the past 9 months for many reasons and desperate in the near future what come to life... but watching your positive energy video, sharing your tips how to keep yourself in good mood and feelings... it helps me, thank you a LOT... and it make me smile how much you use your hands when you speak... don't never ever stop that... looking forward for your next videos... goodnight 😴
Awww I’m so happy I shared my positive energy with you!! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We are all in this together, the whole world. It will pass, soon we will go back to our old routines 🙂🙏 And yes, I won’t change my hand movements 😂 that is sooo me. Haha! Glad it makes you smile. 😆
You put a smile on my face and a lot of agreement in my mind, and a big warm hug in my heart! Do you know the concept of "kävely-meditaatio" - put a rain-coat on over warm snuggly woollen (!) clothes, and you will be ready for april-weather in Finland. If it starts to rain or snow while walking, shift into a child's mind-set - try to catch drops or flakes on your tongue - keep warm by increasing your speed (slip carefully). Sing your favourite songs, nobody will mind or even hear! When you come home, do something nice like having a cup of warm soup, or dancing the "Git up!", or making summersaults on the bed. April in Finland is nevertheless the return of the light, of marvellous sunsets to document in pastel or with your camera, a last chance to learn some star-constellations in the evening, because in the summer-nights it will be difficult to see them. And Northern summers come so slowly, that you have time to learn the names of many flowers, birds, and bumble-bees - as they don't come out all simultaneously! Knowing the names makes you feel closer to nature for ever, most Finns know a lot, but it comes kind of effortless growing up. Surely the climate is friendlier in the Mediterranian region, we have to accept that, and each of us may love our home-land the most, it is nothing wrong with that. Just write home every day and express your huge love for your roots, don't keep it pent up all inside. Any sort of love is an enourmous power for good in this troubled world! Thank you for sharing your video that shows you care more than you hate! Wow! Love and peace! Looking forward to next video!
To me this winter's lockdown wasn't any problem at all. I broke my ankle so i had to stay inside anyway (sort of positive side to the accident). I am with you on supporting small businesses. I intend to visit Brooklyn Cafe this week, they have had so much bad luck that i want to support them even if it is in my small way. I shall visit Happy Waffles too. btw. nutella should be banned from existence. Spring is coming along nicely now. I enjoy this period of spring the most when the dust has been washed away and the colors are coming out and the sun is more than just light. Pasi
Oh no. I hope your ankle gets better. 🙏 Spring is finally here, hopefully it stays this sunny and warm for a while.. I agree with you on Nutella and on Brooklyn Cafe. I LOVE their little cafe. Have to support them as well as soon as possible. 🌸
You are amazing love your videos....btw Finland is one of the few countries in Europe that didn't impact [so far] (badly) from Covid-19 so you are good.
Hello from Tokyo, Japan! Helsinki is my most favourite in Europe indeed so it was a bit sad to see shops being closed, though I think Finland was dealing with Covid better..Btw, the waffle you had is originally from Hong Kong, I suppose. Hong kong style waffles use a lot of eggs but not so many toppings like in Europe. I did not know they are so popular in Finland now. Keep it up!
Hello Ken from Tokyo! Wow, happy you landed on my channel. ✨ I wanna visit Japan really bad. It's probably on my Top 5 list of places to visit. 😍 Helsinki is indeed beautiful and being empty like this makes me quite sad. About the waffles, had no idea that it originates from Hong Kong! They are quite popular and yes, we do add a lot of toppings to everything. 🙈
@@TootsieBlabber Thanks for such a nice reply! Yeah, I was searching for some updates on Helsinki, as I will be visiting it first after Covid. I have been to your home country Croatia once, to Dubrovnik as part of a tour around the Balkans. I just felt people there are so warm and more hospitable than those in Western Europe. Keep up the good work!
@@kenfromtokyo3546 Oh lovely! Welcome to Helsinki!! Hopefully, very soon. Dubrovnik is one of my fav places in Croatia. My godparents live there, so I’ve spent my every summer vacation there. ♥️

Actually you should talk about climate and not weather, which isn't the same thing.
Climate is more relevant in terms of seasons.
Probably true and thanks for the comment, but all I can say is tomaYto, tomaHto 🤷🏻♀️🙃
