      Can these machines be used/plugged into a residential power setting or they only for commercial building? Any concerns for residential use with power surges/outages, let’s say setting up these machines in a home garage.

      @@NewAgeRanger If you are starter do not buy any printers just buy good press. You can outsource DTF prints for cheap. Learn design that will be more important and also develop good strategy how to sell your product or service. That way you can start from your residence. Also do not believe you can sell easy shirts for $28 that will happen not often if ever most likely will be between $12 and $18 per shirt depend on size of print and how many locations need to press designs. Don't go for DTG it is to many problems it is expensive and it is slow inconsistent and limited mostly to 100% cotton materials. That will be my advice but educate your self and connect to local screen printing shop that will do contract pricing for orders over 100 pieces.

      I wouldn't agree that DTG take much less space than DTF . When you setup DTG printer and pretreatment machine that is almost same amount of space as DTF. In both cases you need press. In both cases you will have fumes or dust, so will need some form of ventilation.

    If you are doing large prints that will cover most of the shirt, trust me, you don't want to use DTF because that film isn't breathable. You going to sweat lile crazy and it's heavy. So its advice to use it for designs A4 or less. Anything larger, go with DTG. Its light, its breathable and it blends with the material rather than stick on the material.

      Great point, it's important to consider the size and design when choosing DTF or DTG.

    Curious to know if DTG works well for 60/40 blends and tri blends?

    • @ricomatv
      @ricomatv  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      DTG can work well on 60/40 blends, but ideally, you want a higher cotton percentage (at least 80% cotton) for the best results. Since DTG ink bonds with natural fibers, the 60% cotton helps, but the print may not be as vibrant as on 100% cotton. Pre-treating the fabric properly can improve ink absorption and vibrancy.

    Everything you said is very informative but missed the fabric required for DTF and DTG , I mean can both be used on 100% cotton or it requires special fabric mix? 🎉 I would appreciate if you reply ! 😊

    • @ricomatv
      @ricomatv  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for your feedback! Both DTF (Direct to Film) and DTG (Direct to Garment) printing can be used on 100% cotton fabric, which is ideal for achieving vibrant colors and high-quality prints. However, DTF can also work well on a variety of fabric blends, including polyester and cotton-poly mixes, making it more versatile.

    Can you address the durability and washability difference between DTG and DTF? Many of us have seen DTG prints almost dissolve after a wash or two which is obviously a problem of customer satisfaction and returns. Additionally, can you address the image quality itself between the two? DTG seems to produce more washed out colors with visible dots and from what I've seen DTF prints are more vibrant and look like they are a more high fidelity product. Lastly, you touched on the flexibility of DTF to apply the prints to various surfaces. Can you expand on that a bit? What other substrates can DTF's be applied to and how?

    • @ricomatv

      Hi Steven, this is a great question. With proper care, DTG prints can withstand multiple washes without significant fading or cracking.
      DTF printing's durability is one of its key strengths. The film used in the process provides a thicker layer of ink, resulting in a print that can handle rougher treatment. DTF prints have excellent stretchability and resistance to cracking, making them a preferred choice for sportswear or garments that undergo frequent stretching and movement.

    • @ricomatv
      @ricomatv  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello! Yes, both Direct-to-Garment (DTG) and Direct-to-Film (DTF) printers use ink. It totally depends on the print and how big the design is to accurately describe the cost of the ink and how often you will need it.

    Would you consider DTF superior to DTG?

    • @ricomatv
      @ricomatv  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Neither DTF nor DTG can be considered universally superior, as each has its own strengths and weaknesses. The choice between them ultimately depends on factors such as budget, the complexity of designs, fabric types, and personal preferences.
