- This place used to be a garbage dump. Until it was made into housing for the poor but it is still not enough as the number of people in Manila is increasing. People here make a living by recycling things that can be sold

Thank you friend for showing us these videos. They are very educational. I wouldn't say poor but happy. A catastrophic situation. There must be a gulf of difference between those who have money and those who don't. The contrasts are extreme. How do these people earn the minimum to live? Other videos show wonderful beaches full of tourists. Sometimes thinking wrong gets you caught. Do you see that a little bit is also the fault of us Westerners?
Im so happy about your comments.The wealthy Ones live in gated community and in high rise buildings. you can't go there without permissions.. slums are only in big cities in Manila. Maybe these people comes from provinces to seek better jobs but they fails.I also live in this type of environment once, luckily I found a stable job and now im in good place. I never heard anybody who blame others (government or other nations) about their situations.If you want a better life you should take actions, that's Filipinos' mentality.

Make it known to you JOHN WALK TOUR, even the US of A which is a developed and rich country in the world has an incidence poverty among some of citizens there. There are so many homeless of their citizens living on tents and mobile vehicles seen them on the sidewalks and alleys in the major US cities. Don't single out the Philippines.

Poverty is the reason of laziness.
We should not judge other by their situations. These people are very hardworking, we don't know why they end up in this situation.we don't know what they've gone through.

Insurgency in country side is also one of the factor. People lived in these community in countryside prefer to get out in these areas affected by the insurgency and want to relocate and live in the urban centers.
