Ginyu at the end can be summed up with this quote from Wreck It-Ralph:
"I'm bad, and that's good. I will never be good, and that's not bad. Cause there's no one I'd rather be than me."
I like Ginyu's self-sacrifice. it really fit him in his regrets and the internal battle of good and evil he has.
Wasn't expecting Ginyu to have some sort of redemption at the end there, but was a good end to him regardless since he went out on his own terms.
That ending is so emotional, Ginyu was wrong. He was a good boy 😭
I doubt Ginyu's alignment changes were planned from the beginning, but come to think of it, the first thing he did when he got his body back was call to revive Frieza. This might seem natural for someone just revived, but Ginyu had been following the group since Namek. He saw their new lives, and still said this. Did he think that they could snap back to evil without worry... like him?

Masako, seeing this made me think in contrast - "What If Pilaf Gang were actual legitimate threatening main villains in original Dragon Ball before King Piccolo instead of just being a running comic relief?" (it may not be just rewriting but actual reworking the characters, slightly their designs and giving them potential powers).
Imagine if you swapped Pilaf with Garlic Jr.

And I just realized how similar Pilaf and Garlic Jr. designs are.

Fun what-if idea: What if Goku had been forced to fuse with Hercule in the Buu saga?
It actually was brought up as a possibility in-canon, albeit as a joke before Vegita showed up. But what if it wasn't a joke and they were forced to do it? What would the fusion have been like personality-wise? How would that have changed each person's outlook on the other when they share memories and mental space? What might that have done to their families since they were marrying into each other via Videl and Gohan?
I figure this is a one-off, but it does have some potential.
Here's my idea.
The fusion isn't strong enough. At ALL. Buu is still struggling with hitting Gokule because of Hercule and with some mockery by Gokule and realizing this is a way to get around the violence issue, Buu absorbs them.
Inside, they defuse and Goku has to protect Hercule while they free Gohan and Piccolo and the kids. Buu notices and still struggles to hit Mr Satan while they are near Fat Buu.
From here, I can see 2 outcomes. Either Buu gets so mad he actually rips Fat Buu out, causing his own undoing (afterwards flying straight toward Hercule until he suddendly stops, realizing what he did and dissolving) or Goku sees Super Buu eyeing Fat Buu very intensly, understanding the cause of the blessing Hercule has and rips it out himself to try and stop Buu).
Outside, Goku probably still saves Dende instead and I'd think they would bring fat buu with them. Honestly, the ending could change a lot if fat buu becomes counscious early, but I'd have to think more about it.
and here I was still holding out hope the 5 of them would one day do the fusion dance, perhaps in the tournament of power
Yes! I want to see Jace train everyone to use fusion in the tournament of power.
There's still a chance (albeit slim).
Well now we need the Jeice Force to all wear Saiyaman outfits and fuse with Gohan and Videl,
Creating the ULTIMATE SAIYAMAN!

How about a series where Gohan studies things like ki, magic, and similar phenomena.
We know he'll eventually write a book about the science behind ki so it would be nice to see foreshadowing for that.
Plus, studying ki means he has no excuse for slacking in his training as it would be necessary to his research.
Maybe a continuation of what if chi chi kept fighting

I just have the image of Gohan and Vegeta sparring and Vegeta is about to land a really powerful punch, only for Gohan to hold up one hand while using the other to write notes down, frustrating Vegeta

I couldn't see Vegeta being willing to pause in place for Gohan's notes, at least not for long. It'd be the third or fourth time before he hears it, stops, and goes on a tirade to Gohan about the feeling of fighting, learning in combat instead of taking notes, and other prideful things.
Only for Gohan to brush it off and call for him to go back to it.

Apparently, according to the movie lore (some insiders, I presume) it was actually Cooler Planet No. 98. :)
"If you lot want to bring back Ginyu...I'll allow it...let him atone. I got my jab at him in." -Vegeta possibly. Also a potential multiverse theory/crossover of what ifs. What if Raditz turns good in Trunks timeline due to anomalies, and winds up with Trunks when they go back post Resurrection F, and stays? A potential what if April Fools gag if you will.

Wouldn't Ginyu be on Buu's body at this point of the story? Maybe I missed something.
Either way, his fate is really fascinating. Never in these what-ifs have we seen a character TRY to become good, only to realize they can. While everyone is capable of becoming a better person, some people struggle more when it comes to leaving their old ways behind.
If I recall, they used the dragonballs to re-swap Buu and Ginyu

I feel bad how that had to happen to Ginyu, but this is what he wanted. He may have made mistakes, but he was still a good person deep down. A real super hero. ^^

I could definitely see the Jeice Brigade/Jeice Force becoming the best Uncles to Pan, and if they are hanging out more on Earth could lead to Gohan training them again after seen how out of shape he is during the Resurrection F Saga especially training with Jeice since they both have the Ultimate Form. Sad that Ginyu doesn't think he's a good guy anymore, but stopping Frieza from destroying Earth and going out with Frieza was a noble move so maybe he becomes a Warren of Hell like Piccolo did in GT. Anyways another really good part, and looking forward to the next part soon.
That actually would be a good point. The hellfighter 17 stuff was pretty cool. Mostly due to not having seen enough. Or just not remembering much of him. Could give hellfighter 17 the Ginyu plus Saiyan DNA too. Durability and power plus the way to improve with forms and heal from injuries. Though seeing it now, could just resurrect Cell tbh. Getting enhanced further with tuffle technology and giving Gero complete control. Probably fuse with his embryo self that actually might be alive still if Krillin didn't KO it.

The most I can see happening is a few beam struggles being changed to Goku pulling a Cooler and dashing right through it.
This is the Resurrection 'F' we deserved, but never got. Cathartic in so many ways, for both this What If series AND the main series.
