War is, sadly, inevitable on the basis of human nature alone. It's never a matter if we are gonna go to war again, its when we will go to war again. 20 years of fighting a quagmire war in a forsaken land that has been ravaged by war for millennia, and what did we ultimately get out of it? Less than what we went in with. Sometimes it's better just to walk away.
SOAD helped me with my PTSD since 2003. Soldiers side and lonely Day are the hardest to listen too for me. We all go to war and someone different will come back if we ever.

I may have not gone to war, but I can understand what comes of it. I heard this song first today, and the raw pain it carried brought me straight to tears. it's been a year since you commented, but I hope you're doing well. I am truly happy that you got out alive and that you see what it's about now.

Hey brother. I grew up listening to 2 bands. SOAD and A7X. I have watched every reaction on TH-cam on these two bands. And like you, I’m a Christian republican and hold very similar ideals. It’s the respect we give to listen to others voices. Everyone has their own paths in life, but you and I are so blessed to do what we do and live in this great country. SOAD always hits the right spots in their music, right intensity, lyrics that fit, and in some cases you follow along with the lyrics. They are just perfect. I feel like if I was never introduced to SOAD I would not be whole. My dad gave me self titled album and Mezmerize to listen to when I was younger and I have only listened to more and appreciated them more since then. My dad is so important to me, he even served in the military. He is also so important to me
Listening to this with tears in my eyes, facing the fact that my 17, 5 year old will be drafted to serve this summer, Cyprus and Armenia face the same threat, Turkey and i am wiping away tear's as i listen and sing along to this song.

Love me a bit of SOAD despite some political differences, they’re more of the classical liberal type, the best form of liberalism rather than the liberalism these days, some of my personal favourites are on their last 2 albums, Hypnotize, Radio/Video, Violent Pornography, Question, Sad Statue, Old School Hollywood, Lost in Hollywood, they’re definitely worth checking out.
I don't think classical liberalism is the best way to describe their music. I think libertarian socialist or maybe anarchist would be more appropriate given their views on police brutality, war, health care and prisons

In my opinion "war is unnecessary" does not equal "war could be unnecessary" There's a big difference, and I like to interpret this song as "war could be unnecessary if people all over the world weren't so stupid"

For me, this song hits different. I served, and lost friends so this one is different for me than it was when I first heard it.
