Michael Bishop thank you for your words. You were in my favorite line up the band had. During those high school blurry drunken smoking strange times. Glad I got to meet you on tour. You signed my buddies Beefcake tattoo and drew a sword around it (at our pleading). I had to retrace those lines for a couple days before he got it tattooed on for life. Love ya bro,N8knox
I was a sophomore in high school my friend Andy play me a Gwar VHS tape . Not only had I never heard anything like them I certainly never seen anything like them. Here I was Country Bumpkin kid in Bryan Ohio getting turned on to Gwar. I got to say it kind of changed my life, it certainly changed the music I listen to and how I sought out new music. Thanks to all the members of the band
Michael, thank you for sharing these memories of your amazing friend . What a wonderful tribute this is. Thanks for posting, and thank you Dave Brockie!
In the words of Randy Blythe, "Dave wasn't an addict, he was a dabbler", he rolled the dice on using heroin. He lost. The world lost one of its most brave and fearless lyricists ever. RIP Dave Brockie.
I'm not that familiar with gwar but michael bishop had me engaged with every word, powerful speaker and a powerful topic!!! Bishops speaking made me feel like I know brockie and bishop, I will watch this 1000 times over, impressive!!!
When I joined the Total Slavery Club in the 90's (#1660!) Dave handwrote a note with my membership card & certificate & a killer shit-brown gwar work jacket he threw in for good measure. That handwritten note is one of my most prized possessions.
I listen to a lot of music after experiences in my life I lost a love for the main stream greats then i found GWAR and the fun the nonsense's and a new like for music came for me along with a standard of not taking it so SERIOUSLY, good sounds and goofy lyrics that can speak to the right minds make what he did and what the band does mean a lot to me.
Shit made me wanna cry. I love you guys. I love ODERUS I love beefcake. I' love how you felt each other. Its not everyone's experience in life so I hope and think you appreciate it , mike and crew. I look to you guys and I really love that you guys were here at the same time as me. You helped me through alot as a kid /teen. It sux brockie will never know how much he helped people. It was fun but it also was necessary amd it might if just saved sum.of us. I love you guys i always did. And there will never be another like brockie or GWAR. badass and itelectual. Wether ya like it or not . cemented in music History. Thank you guys. You'll never know.
I saw Gwar when America must be destroyed album came out. I was living in Florida. I think I was like 17 years old there’s like 10 of us in a Chevette is one of the greatest nights of my childhood. It was the first time I ever hit a pit and I mean hit because I got pushed in and knocked to the ground and it’s nice guy pick me up he looked at me and said let’s have some fun g war woman blood in my mouth and my mom was checking me for real injuries after I got out of the shower because she thought it was real blood. I love Gwar such a great band.

It all comes full circle he was preparing Beefcake it was him he was going to pass the torch to, david was preparing him all this time🤘rest easy brother🤘
And god fuckin damn Mike Bishop did a fucking amazing job at GWAR BQ 2014. I can't wait to see them flourish! R.I.P Dave Brockie! I know your happy to see them still killing human filths!
It makes so much more sense having heard this as to why Gwar was performing live action combat at Gen-Con back in the day. It was when 2nd Edition (corporate) AD&D was out, and as I recall a very large, very expensive TSR statue was clipped by a weapon, wobbled, and fell over - destroyed. I believe the reps of (corporate) TSR were not pleased, but I certainly remember laughing - a lot. Love this band and what they bring to the table.
What amazes me is that nobody here acknowledges the fact that he died from using HER-O-IN!!! This band should at LEAST address that, and warn about the dangers of hard drugs. I'm serious.
That Patrick Stewart story is too damn funny. I could listen to Brockie stories for hours and never tire of them.
Makes me cry everytime. Dave Brockie was ahead of his time. Truly an oroginal man. "He was a genuis" Goddamn right he was
Man, Michael Bishop is the shit. Those were really great words.
Gwar will never be the same without Dave but Mike is the best man possible to to take his place. We love you Dave

only thing keeps you from seeing beyond the heroize is never let yourself from dreaming what's there.
Would love Dave as my dm
Same here.
just the best!!!!!
I always felt out of place to like gwar and dnd. This video gave me so much closure to know the guys were nerds too. RIP Dave.
Would of loved to see Oderous fraternize with Piccard also btw ,lol
Cheers
Mike Dawson is secretly Mike Bishop.
that's Dr. Michael bishop to he does have a PhD unless u forget
Plus he's the frontman for GWAR. Not too many people can make that claim. There are tons of doctors running around though.
Wow a doctorate in music. I'm just so so so so so so so impressed. Actually what truly impresses me is how creative and talented Mr. Bishop is.
People need GWAR.
Dm...GREAT SCOTT
Hail Lord Blothar 🤘🏽🤘🏿🤘🏼🤘🏾
He doesn't look like a metal guy
What does that look like
What amazes me is that nobody here acknowledges the fact that he died from using HER-O-IN!!! This band should at LEAST address that, and warn about the dangers of hard drugs. I'm serious.
This memorial service took place before the results of the autopsy were released so it wasn't yet known for certain how he died.
Ooops, my bad..lol..sorry about that.:)
It's cool...only took you a year to reply!
Took me a year to notice there was a commen....nevermind, geez.
Jello Biafra did mention it while delivering his eulogy.
