@mike smith the way I like to think of it has been expressed as follows "salvation is a gift to the guilty not a reward to the righteous", and this is the way I hold it. What could I possibly do to add to Christ's work at the cross. I truly believe that is the case.
Once you come to the realization that the Bible in fact is real and should be taken seriously and literally and in proper context then understanding what it means will become clear.

Thank you for that breath of fresh air. Finally, a minister who is willing to tell it like it is. That is the first sermon I have ever heard concerning the Wide and Narrow Gate. The narrow gate is a path of hard self reflection and a crucifying of the ego. A stripping away of the ego, to reveal Emmanuel. Our true light that we hide under the basket. I was amazed at all of the slack jaws and horrified faces, when they were told that they were damned to hell if they didn't enter through the narrow gate. Personally, I am tired of people telling me that they have their ticket to heaven because they are a believer. Utter Nonsense. The Gospel of Matthew really speaks to me. Jesus is pointing out the road map for us, but the readers are to captivated by his miracles and the nice stories to even notice it. Jesus was not talking about a kingdom that you reach when you die, it is a kingdom that can be reached and enjoyed while you are alive in this body.

Is the reason so few go through the narrow gate is because one must experience the first four beatitudes...1) broken in spirit, 2) mournful, 3) meek, and finally then thirst after the truth and righteousness. Then and only then we can enter the narrow gate. The next four beatitudes are how we are to live our life in Christ after being saved.
The only way to heaven is believing in the death , burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ!!!! If you believe in him and except him as your lord and savior , your sins are washed away... does that mean it’s ok to keep sinning because I believe upon Jesus Christ as my lord and savior ? The very fact that people so fervently try to 'prove' that theres no God shows that there is a true God. Their conscience is seared to the point of trying to reject plain truth.
You don't need proof of God. God has given to us through creation and gives everyone some knowledge of God, but whether you accept the truth and believe is another thing.
Can someone help me. I believe in Jesus and I read the bible day and night, I ask forgiveness almost daily for my sins weather outward sins or thoughts that are flesh based. I get tempted daily and sometimes slip up. But soon after I see my error and ask forgiveness and for God to help me Am I on the narrow path? And at what point am I saved? This message leads me to think there's a certain works required for salvation
You must repent. Bible says you must repent or perish. Matthew 7 says not everyone who says to me Lord will enter the kingdom but who do the will of my Father. Confessing is a thing you must do when you sin and God will forgive and cleanse you of all unrighteousness. (1 John) Pray to God for godly sorrow and that He grants you repentance. It's hard too say if you're on the narrow path. But bible says you must examine yourself if youre in the faith. What do you think? Bible says that the spirit testifies we are children of God. Sin shall not have dominion over you for you are under grace. When you sin is it habitual? If it is that's practicing sin. Matthew 7 Jesus will say depart from me you workers of lawlessness. 1 John lawlessness is sin. Jesus said if you love me you will obey the commandments

Tired of seeing people use scripture to divide people. The gospel is about LOVE, In defense of a compassionate God...It can also be taken in scripture as eternal being forever, meaning death as opposed to torment forever. @Aron Jackson John MacArthur is a great teacher, and I have listened to all his sermons and agree with him 98 percent of the time. If you are preaching according to scriptures you should not be afraid of hearing comments from other Christians. I know it can get heated at times, but to question and debate is not a crime or sin. I really love John MacArthur. His book The Gospel According to Jesus is one of my favorite. But him and R C Sproul and other Calvinist are afraid of debate or discussions about Calvinism. Freedom of speech is very important. And Almighty God believes in freedom.
@Aron Jackson I do not mean that the Scriptures should be up for debate, but for so called doctrines of men that is and should be up for debate. If for example you have a scripture that says repent and be saved, and another that says believe and be saved which one is it? Or is it both. In my opinion if scriptures say both then it is both, even if there is a present contradiction.

You are correct. I have the same issue with MacArthur. And if you listen on his own station you are not allowed to comment. As most Calvinist do not allow comments. I wonder why. The Bible does use the terms election and chosen by God, yet it also says that we choose. How can this be? Nobody knows. In Romans it says that Gods ways are past finding out. I look at it this way. I'm not responsible for what God does, but I am responsible for what I do. So I concentrate on what the Lord requires of me, and leave the rest in his hands. But he does not mention the twin truths when talking about Calvinism. Also I have heard him change a word in the Bible during his sermon just so it would better fit his Calvinist view. He should just go by what the Bible says and leave Calvinism out.

Am I on the narrow path? And at what point am I saved?
This message leads me to think there's a certain works required for salvation
You must repent. Bible says you must repent or perish. Matthew 7 says not everyone who says to me Lord will enter the kingdom but who do the will of my Father. Confessing is a thing you must do when you sin and God will forgive and cleanse you of all unrighteousness. (1 John) Pray to God for godly sorrow and that He grants you repentance. It's hard too say if you're on the narrow path. But bible says you must examine yourself if youre in the faith. What do you think? Bible says that the spirit testifies we are children of God. Sin shall not have dominion over you for you are under grace.
When you sin is it habitual? If it is that's practicing sin. Matthew 7 Jesus will say depart from me you workers of lawlessness. 1 John lawlessness is sin.
Jesus said if you love me you will obey the commandments

I think you are fine but i have a suggestion for you. Sometimes i ask God questions and then open ny bible and more times than not my questions are answered. This has happened too many times to ignore. Just believe and try your best

I'm adding a comment on the recent uploads of Grace church: nobody trusts anybody who won't allow criticism. It's time this man admitted that without the baptism in the Spirit nobody can take him seriously. Our task is to reduce our own opinions and listen for the Spirit's instructions.
alex dahn I agree Alex. Most of your so-called reformed Calvinist preachers do not allow comments on their TH-cam channel. We all know why. This sermon is a direct attack on Calvinism by one of their biggest promoters. John does an excellent job preaching the gospel here, without diverting into Calvinism.
Perhaps then you might start with reducing your opinions and listen more carefully?

Notice, not once does the bible state we must believe in the trinity to get to heavan, yet the church claims it is the 'central doctrine'. Tired of seeing people use scripture to divide people. The gospel is about LOVE, In defense of a compassionate God...It can also be taken in scripture as eternal being forever, meaning death as opposed to torment forever. Not sure about this but nonetheless, I'll fight for the eternal life that's offered and keep the worst of the two in mind as inspiration. It'll help me run harder to Him!

@Aron Jackson John MacArthur is a great teacher, and I have listened to all his sermons and agree with him 98 percent of the time. If you are preaching according to scriptures you should not be afraid of hearing comments from other Christians. I know it can get heated at times, but to question and debate is not a crime or sin. I really love John MacArthur. His book The Gospel According to Jesus is one of my favorite. But him and R C Sproul and other Calvinist are afraid of debate or discussions about Calvinism. Freedom of speech is very important. And Almighty God believes in freedom.
@Aron Jackson I do not mean that the Scriptures should be up for debate, but for so called doctrines of men that is and should be up for debate. If for example you have a scripture that says repent and be saved, and another that says believe and be saved which one is it? Or is it both. In my opinion if scriptures say both then it is both, even if there is a present contradiction.

You are correct. I have the same issue with MacArthur. And if you listen on his own station you are not allowed to comment. As most Calvinist do not allow comments. I wonder why. The Bible does use the terms election and chosen by God, yet it also says that we choose. How can this be? Nobody knows. In Romans it says that Gods ways are past finding out. I look at it this way. I'm not responsible for what God does, but I am responsible for what I do. So I concentrate on what the Lord requires of me, and leave the rest in his hands. All throughout the Bible men are called to repent and believe. So it must be possible or else God is a lair

@@memoryreay2179 John Macarthur is one of the best. But he refuses to let go of his Calvinism. I have listened to all of his sermons, and yes he talks about the twin truths. But he does not mention the twin truths when talking about Calvinism. Also I have heard him change a word in the Bible during his sermon just so it would better fit his Calvinist view. He should just go by what the Bible says and leave Calvinism out.

Jason Stack well if they don’t like the message and are convicted that will be brought up to their remembrance at the Great White Throne Judgement. Every person who crossed paths and presented the true gospel the judgement will be righteous.
He is speaking about the reality of Heaven and Hell. Most new age generation churches these days don't preach this truth because they have become so modernistic, and hung up on appearances and music styles and seeker sensitive that they have forgotten the primary Jesus came to save us and are afraid to warn people of their eternal destinies because they don't want to offend people with the truth.
