Just so you know, there is no overlap between the 2020 series and the 2021 series. 2021 is a continuation, not a replacement.
The 2020 series has some different categories and clips so it’s not a bad idea to check out if you want more dc content.
Insomnicsy puts in so much work and provides so much to the fandom, for sure watch more from them
SuSiJi (the sub-unit of JiU, SuA, Siyeon and sounds like the Korean word for sausage) have only done one song together, which was great, but mainly they are THE superior sub-unit for pure entertainment. Their vlives live in infamy in Insomnia canon. For insiders: Elephant pen became a t-shirt at their LA tour and SuA wore it.

you don't miss anything in 2020 THIS IS SERIES (_) but there are different clips there & THIS IS DREAMCATCHER (as a whole) so I would recommend checking that out too. My energy is probably like Dami, we are both introverted, we are both calm but can be loud/crazy if we want too. So Dami.

The Ottoke Song was a big thing back in the beginning of 2021, when it was introduced in the famous K-Drama True Beauty. Before that, it was the popular variety show Weekly Idol which made it famous, by having all it's guest idols performing it. Also, because you kinda asked: In terms of who I feel the most connection with, while I could never choose a bias at this point in DC (when I got into them it was Siyeon), it recently dawned on me that SuA is my ult. Like, overall in K-Pop. From what I've seen, she is just as hardworking and caring and serious when she has to be as she is chaotic, goofy and an absolut talent when it comes to variety shows.
She is what the word idol means in 'real life' - someone who has traits that are worth aspiring to have.
Edit: Wtf, I took the MBTI because all the idols are talking about it and well..welcome to the ENFP club. :D
And of course MBTI is flawed, they try to categorize people's complex psyche in 16 personality types. It's is kinda fun though.
SuA is so overlooked. This is not meant in a mean way towards the fandom bc there's only so much love we can give. But as much as for example JiU is a multi talent but also a mom and a kind soul, I would say SuA has to offer the same qualities. Also I've seen a lot of compilations now where other idols just talking about how SuA randomly befriended them and was just being nice to everyone. Although tbh I always see her more as the dad of the group, regarding her parenting style haha🤣

@@Friedensp4nzer yup I know that one with the family tree haha. I really see Suayeon as Gahyeon's parents, it's just too perfect😂but for the group we have mom JiU and dad SuA (although JiU makes the dad jokes...two dads then maybe?🤔). It's difficult, maybe we could just say JiBo is a parent couple that unites mom and dad qualities in one weird mix.
(Btw I don't wanna say we have to follow stereotypical gender rules but some things just radiate more mom/dad energy like dad jokes are 100% dad energy)
I would love it if you watched the 2020 version as well! They complement each other and give a better understanding of the members in a really fun way! But there's no problem watching the 2021 version first/only, of course 💜 the categories in this version are quite fun! 😂 Confusiyeon was a must! (just to tempt you though: you will miss some extra playful and charming dami moments from the 2020 version 👀)
I personally enjoy the 2020 series better for someone just getting into DC (I feel like it's a little bit better for baby insomnias looking to get to know the girls' personalities more) but both series are so good.
This is 2020 is the OG... so i would recommend to watch that before 2021 but oh well... 2021 is an add on...

Yeah, like others have said, you can happily watch both the 2020 and 2021 versions in whatever order, no overlap, no confusion, no disappointment. Some members get similarly-named segments in both versions, but even then, it's different clips.

I think I’m a mix between Handong, Dami and a bit of Jiu. I’m mostly an introvert but I have my crazy moments when I feel comfortable with the people around me 😊
2021 is fine. It's not like a storyline driven series so you could watch these in any order. BUT if you don't watch 2020 you will still be missing out. Those are just s good and there are eight of those for 2020, and there are only the seven videos for 2021.

Thanks for the video. As others have mentioned the 2020 series are worth a watch as well. It also has a "this is... Dreamcatcher" in that one. No need to react to it if you don't want to, but definitely give it a look.

the first version is iconic and very worth reacting to! there are no repeats between the 2020 and 2021 series from what i remember so you will have a different experience!

2020 and 2021 are must have watch. There are some clips that are the same, but 2020 has clips that aren’t in 2021. And some segments are labeled different. Plus 2020 has a “this is Dreamcatcher” video while 2021 just has the members. Crony Jiu = Dad Joke JiU, Leader JiU= Mom JiU, cute jiu= kid jiu. While SuA and Gahyeon have Loud segments in both, they are all loud. Siyeon has a loud segment in 2020. 2020 has a Fatal segments for the members that just helps to show the duality from onstage to off stage… though they can be fatal off stage too. 2021 uses clips from Dreamcatcher Mind which is something else you should watch. Though Insomnicsy has glorious content- Dreamcatcher montages, Dreamcatcher A mess, unfiltered idols, beasts, things from vlives. There is at least two videos of Confisiyon/ Siyeon.exe. While you should watch all of their special clips, JiU and SuA’s Switch to me is hilarious. Weekly Idol is something I only watch when it’s Monsta x, Mamamoo or Dreamcatcher involved. Dreamcatcher’s “something” that they did on their last weekly idol lives rent free in my mind (along with my house, abracadabra, jiu and Handong troublemaker)
I am a lot like Dami at time. Other times I can be like Handong and Siyeon..guess that is partly why Dami and Siyeon are my biases. I am more of an introvert, but put me with my friends and our own chaotic energy that shows up when we get together causes me to be more extroverted. I agree when it comes to MBTI. While I am more intovert then extroverted, their are towns when I am very go with the flow and other times when i plan.. though I am generally more go with the flow. Sometimes I want to be alone and sometimes I want to hang out, sometimes I am very aware of others feelings and sometimes I am not. Sometimes I go on instinct and others I don’t. .. My go with the flow was might how to be because I am a Sagittarius, but where are some things of a Sagittarius that I don’t feel apply to me.
I would watch the 2020 series as well (even on your own) since there are other things you'll learn about the members not mentioned here
2020 version is definitely one you should not miss, 2021 builds off of it but you could go without it
The 2020 series and 2021 series don't overlap but still the 2020 series include more older clips so maybe you can't react if you want just to know the members more ^^

People are already saying it in the comments, but I'd definitely recommend checking out the this is... series from 2020, whether it's on or off camera. You aren't missing anything by only watching the 2021 version, but both editions compliment each other really well, and the 2020 version is pretty iconic (plus it includes an extra this is Dreamcatcher that the 2021 version doesn't have). Beyond the this is... series though, Insomnicsy has a ton of other content that would be awesome to check out to see more of Dreamcatcher's crackheadedness (and trust me, there's plenty of that to go around haha)
