“Did you have anybody else on your books?”
“Did the agent take a cut?”
“Did the agent phone you to let you know they’d got the job?”
“Did you ever fall out with your agent?”
“When you decided this charade had to finish, did you take yourself out to dinner and tell yourself you were letting yourself go?”
    “Did you sign a contract?”
    “Are you still in touch?”
40 seconds of absolute chaos there

I like that Lee jokes he's never done charity and Rob basically confirms that by explaining that he made sure to get paid for the charity gig.

That made me feel certain it was a lie. I didn't believe he'd publicly admit to that sort of uncharitable money-grasping.

I’ve just read about this in his autobiography and he writes: “I remember one time calling a lady who wanted me to host an evening for underprivileged kids. I managed to get a fee for what I now realise was a charity evening.” So either he didn’t realise or Lee was right 😅

Poor Brian was right. He was asking why Rob couldn’t carry on the charade when it was already working. Rob’s argument that it was awkward for him to ask for money, but his “agent” could, just backs that up. He never did actually say why he decided to get an agent - other than the obvious fact of it being ridiculous to continue for too long.
