  • In this video I am going to test Pebeo Setacolor black fabric paint.There are 2 kinds of fabric paints Pebeo produces: for painting on dark and for painting on light clothes. Pebeo opaque black color for painting on dark clothes is problematic. When you work in a specific technique it is washing off. So in this video I will explain when the problem can appear, what is the solution and also I am going to test different black fabric paints to see what will happen with them after washing.

    I LOVE your videos! I used Jacquard Neopaque for painting over tiedye. l like the opaqueness since the dye shows up under the paint. After one washing, in the machine, it becomes more opaque. I'm still testing long term. But for what I am doing the see thru of the opaque is very nice with Jacquard Neopaque. But I'm definitely going to try pebeo! Thanks!!

    hi! I'm from Spain and I have had the same problem, so its not a Rusian problem. I painted a sneakers in manga style, and it was raining and the black opaque paint above another color was ruined (and I put a water repellent too!) I have thought about using black angelus paint or a black marker for fabric to solve this.

    Thank you for the review. Very helpful. In fact I was about to buy the pobeo opaque but I wanted to make sure if it's wash-resistant.
    I want to use detailed stencils on clothes, and I am not sure which better brand to use as good quality paints and not washing off. Any recommendations?
    And have you ever tried Tulip brand fabric metallic paints?

    • @Dariacreative
      @Dariacreative  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you will use stencils on white clothes and you need black paint, pebeo opaque will work. It doesn't work only when you apply it on top of other layers, as a third or fourth layer. Also for stencils you can buy spray paint. It also will work great and it will be easier to apply it. Fabric paints I can recommend also Jacquard, Arteza

    I used them on a shirt, 100% cotton, then I used an iron for 5 minutes and wanted to give it as a gift right away, but I thought it would be nice to find out first that they are durable, so that there would be no disgust that the recipient would be disappointed after the first wash. Well, and after washing them at 30 degrees I am disappointed, because the paints are not durable at all. What could have gone wrong?

      I have never tried but I guess you can. I saw a lot of videos of people customizing their shoes with hydro dipping technique. But they were using acrylic spray paint. So if you can find a way to create such effect using fabric paints of course it will be even better as your artwork will be softer

    • @Dariacreative
      @Dariacreative  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It mostly washes off on black clothes , because you have to apply at least 2 or 3 layers of paint. But if you want to make multilayered artwork on white clothes you can face the same issue. So better buy Pebeo black color for light clothes, which will not wash off and more appropriate for white clothes

Пожалуйста , помогите разобраться с Pebeo - джинсовую одежду нельзя назвать ни темной , ни светлой - брать трасперент или опаг ? У меня есть опаг Жакард ( Jacquard )- он мне не подошёл . I used opaque yellow. And no I didn't fix yellow with an iron. I just let it dry. And normally that is the right process when you apply many layers. Let each of them dry (you can use hairdryer if you don't want to wait) then apply next layer

Depends on how many layers of paint you will apply, clothes you will paint on (denim holds paint better) , technique you will work with. My advice is paint with black opaque, then wash and see. If it won't work you always can fix it by applying black color again, but the one for light clothes (artstore where I buy opaque color has pebeo for light clothes as well)
