"Loving my Starlink! Had it for 6 months so far. Just converted it to 12V and it's been amazing. So much better using your own router over the stock one. It uses a lot less power; not sure exactly how much less, but I think around 4Ah."
@chasingdreamsau sure is my kit is a diy I'm useing a gl.inet beryl Gl-MT3000 and I'm blow away with it so small only uses 5v and the range is insane for size
Thank you so much. Yeah sure would be as long as there is no obstruction it will probably be better than what you have at home currently. In our case it was 4x better. 👍
G’day mate, to be honest I really don’t know much about much. But looking at just figures alone it is making more sense to make the switch to Starlink over the current providers. At a guess i think it’s early days and who knows what this technology will be in another 5 to 10 years.
I am not tech savvy either but I recently saw an ad (that said coming soon) he has now made an iPad size unit that you can carry in your backpack and that will only be $74./month. I thought it said usb re chargeable......haven't seen it again......but the price sounds good for the monthly cost. We purchased the newer version for our travels and it doesn't swivel to re connect itself if the satellite moves......didn't realise I could lie it flat so I will try that next time......that is my negative about the newer one.
Mate it’s hard to keep up with all this new tech isn’t it. Oh now that sounds awesome! I haven’t seen anything yet but will definitely keep my eyes out for that unit. I have been interested on people thoughts of the newer model so that is really interesting. Thank you so much for sharing that information guys really appreciate it. Hope your travels are going well. 👍
I’m really not too sure sorry. We have found a lot of people aren’t aware of it yet some issues people have had are needing to do the latest update and not logged into the account properly.
Looking into Starlink. I currently have spectrum but I keep having to wire my laptop in order to have other devices being wireless ( laser Glowforge). Keep going offline since I live in rural area. I’m not tech savvy but I know Glowforge need the 2.4 and do not work on 5G; does Starlink has 2.4? Again, not super tech savvy. Can I use my own Netgear 84 modem/router combo or I would need something different? Thank you
@@mariezhitkov3794 to be honest we really don’t know everything about this ourselves. We have heard of others using different routers but that goes over my head. All we really know is that it works great everywhere in Australia and at the time of making this video Starlink had a special on the equipment for Gen 3 at $249.
My sister has starlink it cut fortnite downloads down from 3 days to 30 minutes however its not 100% reliable just yet as it keeps dropping out. I guess they need more satellites still.
The speeds are just unreal aren’t they. Hhhmm only time we have dropouts is when it has some kind of obstruction otherwise it is really great with clear skies. In saying that though we haven’t tried it for gaming and I know you need to look at something called a ping but that goes over my head haha 👍
Yeah fair enough, I am shocked after doing the comparison at how expensive other internet providers are now. Hopefully what you have works well for you. 👍
Just love Starlink.Remote areas works a treat plus where there is no Telstra you can phone with wifi.
Yep, just awesome isn’t it and I’m still amazed at how many spots there are without Telstra coverage. 👍
Thanks!
Seriously, thank you so much for your amazing support. So glad you are loving our journey and being apart of it in a massive way.
Keep up the good work, guys 🤙🍻
Guys, seriously that is unreal. Thank you so very much for that amazing support. You guys are seriously legends and can’t thank you enough. ❤️❤️

It’s a great bit of kit isn’t it.
What kind of router as you using to run it please mate?
That power saving would be awesome. 👍

That sounds awesome, I will have to have a look into it. Thanks heaps for sharing that info mate. 👍

It’s been brilliant to be honest and held up well in the wind which we have found great. 👍
Hay mate
Nice video just purchased one myself and got the 12volt kit from cowfish technology
Its awesome only uses 3 to 4 amps
Stay safe
G’day mate, thank you for watching and enjoying 👍
I will have to check this out thank you.
You too mate cheers
Good run down starlink. It should have been 12 volt from the start. Surely the main market would be people in remote areas and travellers.
Thank you mate, yeah you would think so. I’m not really sure who their biggest market is but there has to be something coming surely.
what home runs on 12v? most people using these are everyday people using it as its better then the nbn
Keep up the good work, guys always entertaining 🤙🍻 enjoy your travels 👍
Thank you guys so much for the support and being apart of the journey. 👍❤️
@chasingdreamsau, no problem, you keep making them will keep watching them 😀 , seen all your episodes. You guys do a great job 👍 🤙
We really do appreciate that so much. So glad you enjoy what we get up to 👍
It’s been amazing and we are just loving the whole ride.
Nice video! Is the network sufficient for two people to work? Like office work/ meetings etc
Thank you so much. Yeah sure would be as long as there is no obstruction it will probably be better than what you have at home currently. In our case it was 4x better. 👍
Gidday Legend...Do you think this has this made the NBN redundant?

That tilt function must only be available for Roam accounts.

Kaon have roof rack mounts for your dish.
They look the goods don’t they.
I haven’t seen any of their products in person but online they have looked so good.

No worries at all, sorry we can’t be of more help. Best of luck with it all and have a great day. ❤️

It comes on promo sales from time to time. I got mine for $250 but the data plan is expensive
