These are a really informative series of videos in plain English so people can understand. So a big thank you for taking the time to film and upload them. We have a yacht, but many of the lessons apply to lots of different boats.

External regs are a pain, I’ve fitted the Victron splitter today and all works well. Not a fan of dynamo’s either lol.

The connectors referred to (the two way on top go the heat unit) are Wago 222 series 32A connectors available at Screwfix. What is the concern over their use?

Hi Adrian, they have no place in a wiring harness on a boat, and should definitely not be an added connection to a Webasto. Every time I come across a Webasto loom that’s been chopped and changed it causes issues. Thermo Top software will shut the heater down if it drops below its minimum set point, and at 12v it’s really easy for a poor connector to cause this issue, especially when the glow plug is active. You’ll never see me use them.

Witch connection.........all of them, me personally I do all on marine side to at least ip56.....if no better.......
Proper service always keep brake downs to a min.

Hi Marc, I hear you but very little is IP58. Think of the back of an alternator or starter motor/solenoid. BSS ensures no connections are in possible bilge water area. Webasto heaters do have seals on the connectors but not designed to be put under this much punishment. Thanks so much for commenting, really appreciate it.
