The tank had stopped completely. So, it's not a fail.
When a grenade goes short, never try to run, but lay as flat on the floor as possible, head away from the grenade.
That's the only way to minimize injury in case it will go off.

You want to get as far away and then drop down. Run for a second or two and then drop, if there is nowhere safe to take cover close by
