  • I have seen so many reviews about Olive and June but most of these reviews are sponsored or the people reviewing have received products for free. Here’s my 100% honest review. I’m a fan of some of their products but there’s a few you can skip out on. (Items Reviewed: The Poppy, Top Coat, Base/Color Coat, Brush, Nail Polish Remover, Nail Cutter)

      The review video was excellent - skin color has no bearing on her talent.

    I followed the directions and it is day three and my polish still look perfect. Definitely one of the best polish I’ve ever used.

      The color I showed in this video lasted a while, the darker color wasn't as strong. But I'd say this lasted maybe a day longer than my usual polishes.

    I have arthritis in my hands and the poppy definitely helped to be more steady without wearing out my hands.

      I've seen some people comment this! Is it difficult to take off when switching to different polishes? (color to top coat?)

    • @cwales688
      @cwales688 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nina Thomas no, I just put the brush back in the bottle and pull the poppy off.

    How long did it last on you until it chipped, cracked, or hairline lines? I use opi and they last almost 2wks but I do have to baby them. As a women I hate how companies don’t realize that. We do things/handle things can you make a nail polish that somewhat lasts. I guess gel, but gets expensive. Maybe I should just cave and buy an in home gel kit. Thank you in advance

    UPDATE: I tried the navy color that I ordered and this one was a lot more 'glossy' and easy to put on than the 'nude' color I tried in this video. The consistency of the nail polish color seems to vary but they are both very chip resistant. The darker color did start to chip after 3 days.

    Thank you for reviewing this product. I have not been a huge fan of this polish. It either ends up look streaky or uneven. I realize that it could be me but I don't have this issue with a lot of other nail polishes. The top coat does work great so I agree with you on that. I still use a base coat when I use this polish because it stains my nails, even though they say the base coat is in the polish. I had a green tinted nail for quite a awhile after using the sweater weather set.

    I know this video is from 2020 but I just found it. Polish will be as good as your prep manicure and your care after applying the nail polish. But maybe ingredients wise is not as bad . The poppy is almost identical as the one the Dollar Tree store carries for a $1.25.

    Wow this video is super helpful. Any thoughts on the cuticle serum and the brush? Are they worth getting it?

    • @NinaThomas
      @NinaThomas  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The cuticle serum was nice, idk if it really worked but tbh that's how I always feel with products that need to be used long term. The brush could be skipped. I'd just use any other brush to do the same thing that brush does. It can easily be found elsewhere.

    What's the name of the nail polish color? It looks so good on your complexion.

    My mom is obsessed with Olive and June, she refuses to buy any other brand 😅 It’s just meh for me, the polish gets thick and hard to apply after a few weeks

    • @NinaThomas
      @NinaThomas  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For me that happens after I think a year of a few months. I think because of the different ingredients.

    Thank you for your review! I think that nail color looks great on your complexion! I noticed that you actually used the poppy upside down - the Olive and June videos have it the other way with you thumb on the flatter part. I wonder if that's why you didn't like the poppy? But you also said that you're already good at painting your nails, so maybe either way it's unnecessary. Also, I loved when your dad walked by and giggled when he didn't want to be in the video :P

      Oh wow! I’ll need to try it again and see if I can give an updated review. Thanks for the heads up! :) loll! I think my dad’s secretly loves being featured 😂😅

    Hello , when did you ordered yours ?

  • @lorrainebarrieau6394
    @lorrainebarrieau6394 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I am not happy with the polish I purchased . It really does not go on smoothly; seems to have bubbles in it. Also the idea of the "poppy" is not such a good one when it only fits certain bottles.

    hi. I ordered and it never shipped. costs me 80.00 for everyday box....so annoyed. saw at target and bought a couple shades. Not impressed. thick gunky

    • @NinaThomas
      @NinaThomas  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh man :( were you able cancel the order? The actual colors aren’t so great but the top coat is. And tbh, it was more long lasting than my other polishes. Even Essie. So if you can manage the consistency, their colors with top coat (and the whole buffing method) does work.

    • @angelac273
      @angelac273 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree. Super thick to paint on, had to add nail thinner to mine. It’s like an old nail polish that has gone gunky. Disappointed for $80.

    Your review is just not good. I would think if you’re doing a review you would have researched the purpose of each item, and used each one as suggested, including the poppy - u had it backward. If it’s presented as a system but you don’t follow the full process or all the tools in the system it’s not really a fully accurate review. You make assumptions, such as “something must have fell out” and you didn’t research first. You went back and checked and realized you were wrong but by that point I lost interest. I was actually disappointed with your review.

      I used this as an average consumer who watched a tutorial on their website and who followed the instructions on a pamphlet they gave. I stand by this review. I think it was fair but I am just a consumer, not a nail technician; so feel free to take my review with a grain of salt.
