    What is so funny is my maternal grandmother collected buttons. I remember teasing her about it. When she died I asked my mom could I have them so I could use them on my crochet project. I never would of thought when I was a kid teasing her I would want her buttons as an adult. I find myself saving extra buttons from my clothes like she did. My mom of course gave me my grandmother's buttons.

    Hi Jayda, I just found your tutorials and it saved my life. Never made a scarf or hat and yet by following your video I was able to make several scarfs and hats to give as Christmas presents. Everyone loved them and more so because I made them. They felt special. Thank you for making me a success. Best decision I ever made. Also I enjoy your quirkiness so much.

    Hi there Jayda and hubby! I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you both for helping to save my sanity. It's been a very rough year as last February I lost my mum to cancer which was a huge shock as she'd only been poorly for a few weeks. Long story short I had to find something to help put the meaning and purpose back into my life so I decided to learn to crochet. After many hit and misses I eventually came upon your tutorials. Thank goodness I did because you make learning from you so easy and fun and I have gained lots of new skills, I crochet all the time now and it's also great therapy, and cheaper too! Each time I watch one of your videos you make me smile and laugh and your giggle and enthusiasm is totally infectious. Thank you again so much and please don't ever stop posting!

    How fortuitous that I should stumble across this video today. We are taking a little trip today to get away! We were going on a longer vacation but that trip had to be postponed until next month. So I am of course bringing my yarn etc with me. All of your ideas are very helpful! One thing I do, as my husband is driving, is to bring an easy project for working on in the car. It is usually crochet but sometimes knit as well. Recently I was working on a 2 row repeat cowl pattern. I enlarged the pattern and taped it to the dashboard right in front of me! It worked out great! I can't wait to go to my favorite local yarn shop and antique store up there and walk along the ocean! Thanks for the great tips. Love your tutorials but more than that your enthusiasm! It's refreshing and brightens my day! Keep them coming!!

      Hi Candy! Ahhh there's nothing like it! Nothing to do but sight-see and crochet :) Doesn't even have to be elaborate either! Sometimes I just toss my favorite hook, yarn needle, scissors and a single ball of yarn into my purse (along with some sort of technology) and off I go! One of these days, I'll do a video on the bag that I pack to take to WORK every day! I make the MOST out of my lunch hours :)

      Jayda InStitches I use a clear makeup bag to hold my tools. It helps me avoid pricking myself when I need to grab a needle or scissors. In addition, I carry my nail file and a tiny tube of aquaphor ointment to moisturize my hands. I also carry hand/baby wipes...quick way to clean hands while working with your yarn. :-)

I found I'm able to crochet without getting seasick *IF* I don't put my head down. I kinda hold the project up at eye level. Lol. Strains the arms a bit, but worth it to be able to crochet in paradise!

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Lorraine Dobbins Hi Lorraine! I must say, I prefer the 4.25mm (or G) for nearly everything I make. I like the small, even stitches I get with it because I (usually) don't want gaps between my stitches. But for afghan making, I prefer at 7.00 mm, because I love the nice, drapey effect I get with it :)

    l put my hand up..l admit that l am a crochet-holic..when l travel l like to have a project at hand to keep my hands busy..though as I'm the one doing the driving, it means l cant crochet and drive at the same time..l use crocheting as a dietary aid as well..when l am sitting at my comp, or anywhere else long enough, l tend to nibble on things that l should not..crocheting occupies my hands AND my brain to not eat when l shouldn't..what l also cant help myself doing is going into op/thrift/charity shops and buy yarn..oh boy, what a stash l have..l have had to start boxing it up to put into storage so l can clean up my craft room and turn it into a guest bedroom, for a few days..but the room truly needs cleaning up anyway..also need to stay away from those shops as well..chuckles..l enjoy your clips Jayda..you are a hoot and a dag to boot (Aussie slang and it's a good term)..must check out what your most recent posts are..have a good week..Carol from down under...

      Hi Aliza, I picked this up at a luggage store (at the mall) a few years ago. It was part of a whole luggage set (which I didn't get...doh!!)

    Hello Jayda, may I ask where (perhaps a website) you purchased your suitcase?

      HI Barbara, I picked mine up at the mall years ago, but someone did say they'd had some luck finding it (or one very similar) on line...the store I got mine at was called Baggery (I think it's a chain here in Canada!)

      +jessica cotton I picked that up at a store in the mall that sells bags and luggage and stuff! I can't remember the name of the store, but that bag was part of a luggage set (I didn't buy the whole set...just the bag!)
