Who Would Not Love Jayda? She is AWESOME. Very Knowledgeable, Interesting and Easy to Learn From. I was an extreme beginner....now I am a seasoned knitter and crochet person. Thank you Jayda.
I'm a US Navy wife, stay home mom. I do get the majority of supplies especially yarm (some still in original packaging), needles at thrift stores, but where I'm more giggy is when I find super cute books for knitting and crochet. And then HOBBY LOBBY!❤ I'm obsessed with that store. Happy New Years Jayda. Thank you for your talent and spirit.
I live in Georgia and I purchase a lot of my crochet and knitting tools at Hobby Lobby. I am lucky that I have Michael's, JoAnn's, Walmart, and Hobby Lobby all very close to me. So if one store is out of something I need it want, I simply go to one of the other stores. I love watching your tutorials! My first pair of baby socks, I made with you. She was born last week and i can't wait until she can wear them. Thank you for making crocheting so much fun!
I love - and use almost exclusively - Susan Bates aluminum crochet hooks. They are very smooth and light, and the bonus - for me - is the flatter head than Boye hooks, making it easier to pull the yarn through. Even though Boye used to be made in my home town, I've always loved Susan Bates.
You are adorable Jayda! Love your skills. I've bought from Michaels, Joanns, but now Amazon.com is my shop of choice. I get my orders in 2 days as a prime member, and save a lot of time being stores are all atleast 30 minutes away one-way from my home. Love your show!!!
I'm in Texas, i get my products from Michael's and Hobby Lobby. Takes 2min to get to Hobby Lobby, and about 10min to get to Michael's. My husband works for Walmart, and i rarely but any supplies there. I love you channel, you already make me smile!
I use crochet hooks (idk the brands) from Michaels and I buy my yarns from Michaels and hobby lobby and because I sell beanies and I'm 12 and I've made 10 beanies already
Hi Jayda, I live in Park Forest, Illinois USA. I bought my tools from Walmart. I just ordered (2) of the "Pony Aluminium Wool needles from Amazon for $5.99! You are so right I have arthritis and sometimes I have a problems threading the yarn when I need to. Watching you and learning does keep the pain at bay. I also ordered Susan Bates Red Heart Crystallites Acrylic Crochet Hooks. Sizes L11/ M13/N15/P16. I plan on making the scrapghan. Walmart also had roll back prices on a large variety of Red Heart and Bernat yarn. My neighbor moved back to Norway and gave me a lot of 100% wool from Norway (can't wait to make something using it). While at Hobby Lobby (picking silk flowers and others items I needed to make all the flowers for my daughter's wedding this past September I found some wonderful yarn from the Yarn Bee, made in Turkey. I think I am going to use it to make winter cowls for my family. I also bought the hooks you used to make the wash clothes along with the 100% cotton yarn I found them on sale at Hobby Lobby. My favorite place to shop is Walmart and I like the hooks from Boye best. Thank you for sharing your gift with us!!
I knit more than crochet, but I find your tutorials easy to follow despite being used to UK terminology. couldn't resist subscribing because of your personality and infectious laugh. Thanks
Thanks for another fun video. I am in UK and buy most of my yarn online - usually when it is on offer (as I am tight!!) As I have been knitting on and off for over 30 years and crocheting for around 5 years I have built up my hook and needle stock from various places, but still favour aluminium crochet hooks and knitting needles. My mum (who is in her 80s and has been knitting since teenage) has a large stock of needles but most of her original ones are Aero ones, obviously purchased in the UK many years ago.
I'm in NB Canada and generally buy my crochet stuff at Michaels. I love the Boye crochet hooks. aluminum hooks are the best because they hold up when they roll under you when you sit down lol.
Congratulations on 70000 jayda! I just saw this video. I'm very grateful to you and your videos. You basically taught me how to crochet. Its crazy how much your channel has grown. I'm so happy for you. I recommend you to EVERYONE, beginner or advanced. Thanks for also helping me troubleshoot when I've made mistakes. You are truly a gem, and a big ball of positivity and light. Its very appreciated.
I live in Cincinnati, Ohio USA and I have had many of my hooks and needles for over 45 years. Back then I bought my supplies at K Mart. Boye is my favorite brand for hooks and needles. I buy my yarn in store at Wal-Mart and Meijer and online at Herrschners, Mary Maxim, Blitsy and JoAnn's. I get knitting needles, crochet hooks and related supplies from the Knitting Warehouse online.
I am from Jersey Baby lol. I buy my supplies from Walmart, Michael's, Hobby Lobby, AC Moore, and occasionally at a local shop. I love the coupons and rewards program at Michael's. I love it when I am at craft shop and other yarn groupies like me ask for my opinion. We all help each other out. Congrats on your 70,000. I wish you all the best and much success. xx
Hi Stacy, thank you for sharing! I love that you mentioned the impromptu meetings that happen in the yarn aisle! I've found myself involved with other people's knitting and crochet projects in the past and it always turns into an inspiring conversation. I'm always interested in what other people are making!
I am from North Carolina USA. I love my Ergonomic Crochet Hooks. I bought a set a few years ago at Hobby Lobby. They are very comfortable. I usually buy yarn at Walmart, Hobby Lobby, and Jo-Ann Fabrics. Recently I have been exploring new on line sites with different yarns. I love yarn. Thanks for the show. You make me smile 😊.
Emily Smith Hi I'm from Kannapolis NC I love my clover hooks and I also use steel hooks for doilies and table cloths. I love watching your tutorials and craft tips. Your so bubbly and happy all the time. What part of Canada are you from. I'm in Quebek alot with my hubby. Keep up the awesome tutorials😀
Hi Jayda :-) I'm from New Zealand and I get most of my supplies from Spotlight or Lincraft. My favourite hooks and stitch markers are from a place called Knitworld (I think they're a small chain as well). They're the ones with the larger silicon grips as I find I can get a tired wrist from holding thin hooks. They're also super bright and colour-coded ^_^ You were the first person who taught me to crochet, because I found your beginners videos went nice and slow and explained it really well. So, thank you!
Jayda, you are absolutely too cute! I love your enthusiasm! I live in Ohio, USA. When I was a teen I got my supplies from two different stores which no longer exist. Now I get them from JoAnn Fabrics or Michaels. We also have Hobby Lobby, where I have purchased a few things, also order from the internet. Hope it's not too late to comment, I just found you. Stay cute and GOD bless!
Hi Tamara, thank you for watching! It's never too late to comment :) When I'm next over the border, I am going to have to track down a Joann's and a Hobby Lobby. We don't have them up here and they sound like paradise!!
I prefer Boye hooks. I recently got a set of Crochet Lite hooks, and they are really nice too for dark color yarns with the light on the end. I prefer getting my supplies at JoAnns store, or website, and Herrshners online. For gadgets I like Boye or Clover brands.
Hi Sharon, thank you for sharing! I have one of those light up hooks too, and it's great! Especially in the winter months when it's so dark so early, I don't feel like my eyes have to work quite so hard!
im surprised you have never tried inline crochet hooks. They are AMAZING! its easier to handle the yarn. I got them at a garage sale but i do know they sell them on amazon.
Hi Crystal, I understand inline crochet hooks to be a reference to the build of them (many of my hooks are inline), are you referring to some that are made by a company called Inline? If so, I've never come across any!
I live Maine, and I buy my Crochet supplies...hooks, yarn, etc., at A.C. Moore, Hobby Lobby, JoAnn Fabrics, and Walmart...depending on who has the sales...LOL!!
Being arthritic as well, I tried the ergonomic hooks. Love them. I have several sets of hooks, in both metal & plastic. Until the covid outbreak, I shopped in stores. I love feeling the yarns. Since the outbreak, I have done more online shopping. Found some new places, but Joann Fabrics is my favorite yarn store.
I recently bought a large number of skeins from Red Heart.com here in the USA. I had to pay $8.95 for shipping and it took almost a month to get my package, so I definitely won't be doing that again, since it took so long and I live less than 5 minutes from Michael's, Joanne's, Hobby Lobby and several Walmart stores. We unfortunately don't have any yarn shops in my area which should be a crime, LOL. I haven't been able to find the wool needles at any of my local stores, hopefully I'll be able to find on Amazon. Thanks for sharing Jayda, love your channel❣😍💖🖒👏👏👏
BTW I've not seen the Aero brand here, but I use the hooks with the ergonomic handles. Boye has started making the ergonomic handles and they're just as good as the more expensive brands that I own.
Red Heart is currently advertising free shipping with a min. $35 order; probably still slow, but could be useful for yarns (or specific colorways of a yarn) which the big-box craft stores don't have in stock. The nearest Walmarts are a 20-minute drive from me, and the nearest big-box craft stores are more like 45 minutes-1 hour away, so I do order online occasionally, or plan yarn purchases for when I can travel to a town with a craft store.
I live near Portland, Oregon. We have a Craft Warehouse here, it’s my first exposure to hobby supplies. I also use Amazon, but I like to see and touch before buying, so Amazon isn’t my usual choice. I just watched Paprika’s second video. As she was learning crochet, you became her teacher and hero with the crochet hook!
I am in Australia and i bought my Clover crochet hooks online. I love your show Jayda, you always make me smile and I have learnt so much thank you Caz
I buy mine at Wal-Mart or Michael's. I think you are great, fun to listen to and watch. It's easy to following along with you. I think 70k subscribers is fantastic! Thank you from Jacksboro, Texas.
HI im in Florida. west palm beach. i buy my stuff in vary places. Michael's, Hobbie Lobby . Wal-mart, pretty much all the things i made was watching you. I had several blankets with your tutorials. one of them was for my own grand baby. thank you so much. and congrats on your 70.000 subscribers .
I buy a lot of my stuff at Hobby Lobby. This store has thousands of ideas and gets my creativity working into overdrive. I always carry a pen n small notebook with me to take down future crafting ideas including all materials needed to complete projects. Hobby Lobby has a 40% off coupon every day to b used. Tons of cool ideas available. If I cant find what I am searching for there, I go to AC Moore. Here they have a 50% off coupon. Again, I take my pen and notepad with me. I am also a Chocolatier. I make 800 types n kinds of candies. Sales are a crafter's best friend. Take care and enjoy your week. I look forward to seeing more awesome patterns. Thank you.
Ohmygosh, yarn and chocolate?!?! * passes out from sheer delight * I also carry around a notebook and a pen (everywhere!) you never know when an idea will hit you!
I get my crochet tools at Joann's and Hobby Lobby, as well as Michael's. Thank you for sharing about your tools and tips! I really enjoy and appreciate your videos!
I just like your sunny attitude. Every time I watch you I get a laugh, your dances and jokes are cute. But your knowledge.... I'm truly happy I found you. I'm new to knitting and crocheting. I love the craft, right now I'm more into knitting but am trying to learn to crochet as well. I like to buy my yarn, needles etc. from Michaels, Wal-Mart and Amazon. I do research other sites to see what's out there as well. I have three large totes of yarn thus far. I'm fascinated with all the lovely colors and various textures. Thanks again and have a fantastic day.
Hi Valincia, welcome to the Big, Crafty Family! The available textures in yarn keep getting more and more varied! I recently found a giant ball (made by Bernat) ... can't think of the name of it ... that is all sorts of textures attached together. I think they intend it for making blankets, and it's like sensory overload! I'm considering purchasing a skein and giving it a go!
I was born and raised in Idaho, US. I have 4 stores that I acquire my tools from- WalMart, Hobby Lobby, Michael's and Joann's. I have just recently started my own shop on Etsy and found a few of the shops on there that either same in price or far less expensive with better quality items. MadewithGramsLove is the name of my shop. I love your channel Jayda.
I love your little giggle. You sound like you belong in my family. haha... I'm so glad I was recommended this video (even though it's over a year old now). I'll be watching more "Jayda InStitches". :)
I usually go to Joanne's or more rarely Michael's. Like them both but my one complaint is that they stick the yarn supplies way in the back and since it's hard for me to get around it takes forever for me to get back there.
I'm in Albany , Western Australia, and I get my stores for crochet at our local Spotlight store or Textile Traders, and I really enjoy your tutorials, you have taught me to crochet, I usually knit, but have given other things for a go, xxx
hı I'm from TÜRKİYE I think our yarn company known by everbody like NAKO ,ALIZE ..etc. tools ,from local shops and like yours ...but cost is different ..unfourtunetly !
Hi Jayda , I buy my supplies on Amazon . My crochet hooks are Clover they are very nice, my scissors , measuring tape and needles all on Amazon. Thank you for your tutorial very helpful.
janice Zachar I do too. I thought I would always use the Susan Bates but after using the Boye I found that I like the hook shape better. I still use both though.
I’ve purchased all kinds of crochet hooks , I have quite a collection . My all time favorite Is knitters pride dreamz. They are wood and I purchased them on amazon. They are light, smooth, have a point to them which is so helpful when the yarn can tend to split, I just adore these hooks.
I'm in Texas. Most of my crochet supplies come from Joann's, Michael's, Hobby Lobby, and Wal Mart. I seldom buy online unless I'm having trouble getting my hands on something. Congrats on your view milestone!
I like the wood crochet hooks that Erin Halvorsen makes. They are much longer than a regular hook. Doesn’t hit the palm of my hand. I like using them when working with bulky yarns. She makes rugs. Also my next favorite is Clover and then ChiaGoo circular. I love my yarn bowls from Darn Good Yarn. I have a few pairs of the foldable scissors
I usually go to Hobby Lobby (love love love Hobby Lobby) I have also shopped for yarn at the local Walmart but their selection is small, I shop at Michael's (good selection of crochet items) and online with Amazon. I'm in a small town in Texas, USA and get my supply recommendations from channels on TH-cam. I love product reviews. Thanks Jayda and keep the reviews coming, I trust your opinion.
Hi Sylvia! That's something I love about TH-cam, so many people's honest opinions of products!! It can be a real help when trying to decide what to spend your money on!
yard sales and thrift stores are my best finds! I think knit, crochet and sewing were a dying art until I found Utube. I am happy people are discovering it again. Especially internationally, because one thrift store took in items from families of deceased elders is why I used to find such treasures from all over.
Thanks for all the tips. I'm in Las Vegas and shop for yarn in Michael's and Walmart. Also online. I LOVE Caron Simply Soft. I've been crocheting about 30 years.
I just bought the fold up scissors i seen you with..thx for the tip.. great idea..im trying to get organized with the stuff i use and your hints definately help and im going to be putting my wool on shelves also..makes it easier to see ive noticed. :) hugs from australia
HI, Jayda! So wonderful to see that you're soaring above 100k subscribers. My favorite crochet hooks are the Clover Soft Touch hooks. So light weight. Very comfy for me -- I hold my hook with the pencil grip. I first bought one of these hooks at Michaels. Then got another. Then broke down and bought the whole set, with fabric case, online (Amazon, I'm pretty sure). Like you, I also use the Crystal-lite hooks for the large sizes because they're so much easier on the wrist. And, I have a Furls hook, size H, that I won in a drawing online, woo-hoo! Absolutely beautiful, well balanced, very lightweight, easy on the hands. Also, very expensive! They're for Santa, or winning the lottery. I totally love my embroidery scissors by Gingher. Got them at Michael's. Pretty pricey, but I had a 50% off coupon. They came with a little leather sleeve to protect the points, which makes them great to throw in my little zippered notions bag and hit the road. Very well made, perfectly balanced in your hand, and they make a perfect, precise little "snip" without ever snagging or needing a second try at clipping any thickness of yarn. That crisp "snip" gets me every time. Love it. I think we all gravitate toward the hooks that work best for the grip we use. The best tools are those that are easy on our hands & wrists -- and pleasing to look at (or hear). Thank you sooooo much for your delightful, inspiring, easy to follow instructional videos. Always a little bright spot in my day!
I love your laugh 💓 I just recently decided to learn ro crochet...got frustrated and gave up...and just found you today...WELL .... I am hitting the thrift stores and buying up a bunch of yarn and hooks...AGAIN (i gave them all away) I cant wait!!! 🎉💞
Hi! Welcome to the big, crafty family! Thrift stores are one of my favourite places to go hook and yarn hunting :) If you're looking for some basic videos to help get you started, we have a whole playlist - you can find it here: th-cam.com/play/PLU-tvdaf-FnfFVwIXWpeYDmReTIozN9ZF.html
Hello I have all the tools you showed and I do travel all the countries like u.s.a. And Australia end up any where in wool section and buy all the tools I have not seen . Lately I bought tools from u.s.a on line is light up crochet hooks which I have not started yet. Thanks for your ideas . Just loved it
Hi there! Thank you for sharing :) I have one light up crochet hook and I've used it a few times with darker yarn. I've found it really helps make the stitches and loops easier to see!
I have been in the process of "learning" to knit for a few years. I know the stitches, etc. I have problems when i make a mistake. I can't seem to get the mistake corrected. BUT, I have some really nice knitting needles made by Clover. They are Takumi needles. They are wooden, and so very smooth! I have an interchangeable set, plus I have the entire set of the straight needles. They really have made a difference for me in being able to execute the stitches. As far as crochet -- I have been crocheting for years. I, too, have many hooks. :) Depends on what I am working with in terms of yarn, pattern, etc., as to which I like to use. I purchase my supplies at various places. I have bamboo double-ended crochet hooks I ordered from online. I forget the company -- sorry. Mostly I purchase from Hobby Lobby, Michael's and WalMart. I am from Louisiana, USA
Hi from California! Until I ventured into ergonomic hooks due to worsening arthritis, I only used (and loved) my steel Boye or aluminum Susan Bates hooks from the 1970's. (I also kept my Mom's hooks when she passed) I fell so much in love with the Clover Amour hooks that I'm slowly building my collection! I buy tools & yarn from Joann, Amazon, sometimes Michaels or directly from yarn companies online. Thank you for all of your wonderful videos Jayda!
I don't know if I can still buy them in the UK but all the knitting needles I've borrowed from my mother's stash are Aero. I think the same can be said for the crochet hooks too, although I don't particularly like using them that much as they hurt my hand after a while. My go to hooks are clover amor due to the ergonomic design and they allow me to crochet for ages without developing cramp. I just wish the same could be said for knitting needles!
Jayda I am new to your channel, I get my supplies at Walmart, Michaels and JoAnns. I have also been able to find at my local dollar store knitting needles and crochet hooks and surprisingly they work just fine. My favorite is by Boye. Have tried the Bamboo hooks, have to work with them more to get comfortable with them. I love the way that you are so happy and upbeat you make watching and crocheting along with you fun...thanks a lot.
I will use any crochet hook. I gravitate to Boye, but have a wide variety including all that you mentioned. I also purchase tools at Hobby Lobby here in Virginia, USA. Most of my tools are purchased at Walmart, Michaels, & Joann Fabrics. I’m currently hoping knit picks start making Marblz crochet hooks... I’d be all over that🙌🏻
i really like to use susan bates hooks. they seem easier to move through stitches for crocheting ... i am also going to purchase some bamboo hooks ... i want to try those too.
I like to get my crochet supplies at Hobby Lobby and Michael's. Sometimes Wal-Mart. I just recently re-started crocheting, so I had some plastic hooks from way back when I first started. But my career took me away from crocheting (never any time!) Now I'm retired and I have more time to get back into this hobby I love! Thank you!
I live in Jacksonville, FL. USA . I have 5 chain retailers to choose from for My crochet supplies ( Michael's , Joanns, A.C. Moore , Hobby Lobby, & Walmart of course ) 4 out of the 5 carry at least on specialty store Item I love, but my new favorite is A.C. Moore's Studio Classic By Nicole. It's a super soft 4ply medium acrylic yarn that is usually on sale most weeks for 4 for $10. Just one crafter sharing to another about lovely products I have found. I also want to thank you for your tutorials and patterns you create. I absolutely love your channel and your website.
Hola, I get most of my supplies from Michaels, JoAnns, and Amazon. My favorite crochet hooks are the Clover Hooks, they're easier for my hands. I have Lupus and my hands ache quite a bit, clovers are more comfortable for me. BTW, you ROCK!!!! Thank you
Congratulations on all the hard work. I like Micheals but also shop at Wal-mart. Red Heart yarn is my favorite. Not only because they have many beautiful colors but the help support Red Cross. an also its made in the USA. You shows inspire me to learn so much more. you're so energetic. it's never an ending learning patterns, stitches, an things being made. I learns something new about crocheting every time a watch a video. thank you for all ur hard work on teaching us a thing or to. keep up the good work.
I found a great idea to store my yarn needles. At the craft store they have glitter mixing tubes. They are 3 inches long and 1/2 inch diameter. They have a screw on lids and work great for carrying yarn needles with your craft bag.
I'm canadian -yay Canada- but have lived in NZ for over a decade. we don't have all the fancy American products so I just got my new Clover hooks with the nice rubbery handle from Amazon along with the pretty pink Tulip hooks. I haven't done much with them yet but what I have done with them is great! Im a really new crocheter - a few weeks- trying your African granny square flower atm.
Hi Cheryl! (and fellow Canuck!) I've been really delighted with everyone's comments so far, there are A LOT of neat tools out there that I've never found here in Canada and will definitely be looking for on line! You're also yet another crochet to mention the Tulip hooks, I have got these on my wish list now, they sound soooo great!!
I usually purchase my crochet tools from Walmart or Michaels I love boye and bates hooks. I've used red heart yarn since I started crocheting 32 yrs ago.
I get mine from a locally owned place in minnesota usa called sew and much more. they are wonderful there. I needed specific yarn colors for making my daughter a blanket and they took the time to go through nooks with me and order the colors I needed
Oooh! I love independent yarn shops! I try to find them in every town I visit. They almost always carrying items and yarn that I haven't found or can't get anywhere else!
So glad to see a TH-camr that loves her not so fancy hooks! Nothing wrong wth a fancy hook, if it's what you like, but sometimes we get caught up in the newest nicest and forget what just works.... more money for yarn! :) I get my plain ol' Boye hooks online nowadays, because they keep changing the manufacturer and the quality isn't as good (to me) in the new ones.
Hi Randa! I haven't purchased any Boye hooks in while, in fact, I think the last hook I purchased for myself was another bamboo hook (which I now know is H.A. Kidd) and that was a few years ago now. I haven't any complaints so far...but it might be an interesting experiment to purchase a new Boye and compare it to my other ones, especially since they're all at least 10 + years old!
Jayda InStitches to me its awful. the I hook is now a 5.25mm instead of a 5.5mm, and the last one I bought was so rough I threw it away. It was awful :( I hope you have better luck than I! I immediately went on eBay and purchased a set of my normal sizes and stashed them back for "just in case".... because I lose and find hooks like nobody's business but we don't have to discuss that part lol I have a set of Susan Bates metal hooks that I *can* use but don't enjoy, but at least the quality is pretty good on them. I haven't tried much with bamboo - but I keep looking at them :)
So far I've really enjoyed the bamboo. But I must say, I still reach for those aluminum ones you see me use in our videos all the time. I see lots of people posting about ergonomic hooks with nice handles (of varying sorts) and I'm considering trying some of those on my next purchase!
Hello. I'm from Tucson Arizona. Love your channel. You're a great teacher and fun to watch and you have great tips. You were actually the first person I saw to learn to crochet(granny square). I got my first set of hooks from Wal-Mart in an I Taught Myself Crochet kit, that are aluminum from Boye. I love them. I've also gotten a few individual hooks from Michael's also Boye. All my yarn is either from Michael's or Wal-Mart (Loops& threads, Red heart, Caron, or craft smart). Haven't tried thrift stores yet but I will eventually. Again love your show can't wait to see more.
We just got Hobby Lobby here in North Platte Nebraska. It's a great place for all kinds of crafts. Most of what I have were either given to me, picked up at Walmart or yup even at the local thrift shops(Salvation Army or Goodwill stores. I enjoy watching you and will grab my tools a often as I can Thanks for the help.
I just wanted to thank you for sharing your personality and your talent to explain in great detailed steps on crochet. I get my hooks, yarns and anything else at the store I work at in Pensacola Florida, JoAnns, it seems to be one of the larger stores on the Gulf Coast. I have several brands of hooks: Susan Bates, Boye, Clover. Thanks again for the easy and friendly videos.
First and foremost congrats on 70,000!!!! That's fantastic. I'm a huge fan of yours. I live in Florida, USA and I work in the education Dept of Joann fabrics. I don't usually see a paycheck because, it goes back into the store. Yah, maybe I should think about changing jobs!!! Lol I also shop at Michael's and Walmart.
Hi Carole!! I would be the same!! I'm also thankful that there aren't any crafty shops on my way home because I'd be poor before I got home every day LOL
Your cheerful personality is such a delight! In my area of the rural Midwest U.S. I usually have to shop online. My stash includes yarn ordered from Lion Brand, Craftsy, Mary Maxim and Expression Fiberarts. Different kinds of hooks work best for different projects, so I have several sets of hooks - Boye (steel and aluminum), Amour steel, Laurel Hill Nam Ok wood, and Denise interchangeable plastic hooks, plus several Furls Odyssey hooks and a Furls Candy Shop G+ hook. (I have to save up for the Furls hooks, but they are soooo comfortable and smooth to use! They are so well balanced they feel almost weightless while I'm stitching, so I can crochet much longer with far less pain : )
I'm in Scotland and I tend to get my crochet supplies from local wool shops. helps me out and it helps them out. I've bought a number of aero crochet hooks in the past plus i have my grans old hooks. great video 🖒
A friend of mine gave me her grandmother's entire collection of knitting needles when we were in highschool, I still have them, they were a huge addition to my collection and I just love them :)
I live in Florida, USA. I have in my collection of hooks an ivory, Susan Bates size 5. It was my Grandmother's. I was hoping she had a full set of the ivories, but have only found one. I also have a few of the tiny Boye stainless steel hooks used for doily making, that were hers as well. The rest are current Boye aluminium ones that I have bought at Walmart, Joann's, Micheal's and Hobby Lobby.
I'm uk, I get my yarn from the range, poundstretcher or wool warehouse. I got most of my hooks from Amazon, my favourite hook I got from the range when visiting family and forgot my hooks, I got all my books off Amazon too. I bought the large eye needles off Amazon after watching your ripple stitch tutorial, I love them, I use them to help me thread a normal needle as well :). Xx
Hi Becci! Isn't it funny how our favourite tools come to us, my favourite hook (the gold 4.25mm that I use in a lot of tutorials) came to me inside a large skein of yarn that a friend gave me (in a huge pile of other yarn that her mother no longer needed). I instantly found myself using it more than any other!
The one thing in the Susan Bates Crystallite line I'll never buy again is their stitch markers. They're the diaper-pin style, but the Crystallite plastic is so brittle in the thin bendy bits of the pin that they break easily. I've found bulk packages of soft plastic diaper-pin-style locking stitch markers on Amazon, though, and like those much better.
i would like you to make the cover for the measuring tape
Who Would Not Love Jayda? She is AWESOME. Very Knowledgeable, Interesting and Easy to Learn From. I was an extreme beginner....now I am a seasoned knitter and crochet person. Thank you Jayda.
Hi Rita! Thank you so much for watching :)
Hi Johanna, Happy New Year! Thank you for sharing :)
Hi Tina, thank you for sharing! And congratulations on the latest member of your crafty family :)

Man you should have more than 70 000 subscribers - you are fabulous Miss J!!
Yes!!!!!!!! Measuring tape cover please!!!
Thank you Miss Bee!!
I'm in Texas, i get my products from Michael's and Hobby Lobby. Takes 2min to get to Hobby Lobby, and about 10min to get to Michael's. My husband works for Walmart, and i rarely but any supplies there. I love you channel, you already make me smile!
Hi! Thank you for sharing :) It's so handy to have such great stores nearby!
I use crochet hooks (idk the brands) from Michaels and I buy my yarns from Michaels and hobby lobby and because I sell beanies and I'm 12 and I've made 10 beanies already
Michael's is a great go-to for yarn and hooks! Sounds like you've been busy :)
Matthew Sanabria Good for you!! Impressive!
Matthew Slays I just love your site! My favorite, because you are fun!
Matthew Slays Im 11 And i Think Im gonna sell beanies to🤓
wow, SELLING beanies already? I'm nine and I only know the winter-like hats and I just make them for my family :) wow
Hi Ava! Thank you for sharing! It sounds like you scored some pretty fabulous deals (and ESPECIALLY the gift from your friend...ohmygosh!!)
I knit more than crochet, but I find your tutorials easy to follow despite being used to UK terminology. couldn't resist subscribing because of your personality and infectious laugh. Thanks
Hi Elaine! Thank you :) And welcome to the big, crafty family!
Hi Alison, thank you for sharing!
I'm in NB Canada and generally buy my crochet stuff at Michaels. I love the Boye crochet hooks. aluminum hooks are the best because they hold up when they roll under you when you sit down lol.
LOL Hi Krista! Yes, and thankfully, hooks don't hurt as much as knitting needles!!!
Hi Estefany! Thank you so much! We're really delighted with how far we've come, and we're ESPECIALLY delighted with our amazing Subs!!
Congratulations!!!!!, I love your videos, you are very very good instructor, wish you the best in everything and Thanks Thanks Thanks a million..
Thank you for watching! :)
I buy at Walmart and J.B's Variety Store (local store in N.W. corner of Georgia). I plan to shop other stores as I progress in
The craft of crochet!
My favorites are ur scissors, cute little measuring tape, big looped yarn needle n all colorful crochets.
Sandra Hall I live in Cinti! Maybe we are neighbors!
Pamela Binder I'd need to know what area you're in before I could answer that.☺
Sandra Hall west side
i'm from Belgium and i love the clover amour hooks!
I am from Jersey Baby
lol.
Hi Jennifer, thank you for sharing...and for watching!
Love your show. You show so much Glee
I get my supplies at Walmart & ebay. I live in Puerto Rico, love your videos & you remind me of a younger me, keep up your GOOD work.
Hi Lillian! Thank you for watching :)
They're also super bright and colour-coded ^_^
You were the first person who taught me to crochet, because I found your beginners videos went nice and slow and explained it really well. So, thank you!
Hi there! Thank you so much for watching, and sharing!
The knook is from Walmart by the way!!
And it’s awesome!!!
Congrats, wow 70,000 subscribers! Awesome! I love all your tutorials. I've been making a lot of things with your videos. Thanks.
Thank you! :)
Congratulations! It won't be long before you get to 100k. I love your show xx
Thank you, Trish! :)
Trish Bresolin She's over that now! And climbing steadily! Just great! Its nice to see!
Thank you so much for your help. You are very good at answering back.
So much fun to watch this old video. Thank you! 😊
congrats on the 70,000 subs! you should have WAY more 🖒😍
Thank you!!
im surprised you have never tried inline crochet hooks.
I always try to go for the sales!! Thank you for sharing, Marta :)

Wow, that's crazy! What a long time to wait on a package! Thank you for sharing :)
Here in the states I need to drive 30 min just to buy yarn. One time I surprisingly found Canadian yarn at dollar tree.
I love those Spice Sisters 😁 Thank you for watching Ramona!
sounds like you have a great mother-in-law 😁
Ohmygosh, Alanna, she is a total angel :) She's a massive knitter/crocheter too!
I'm sure she loves you very much, Jayda. Your husband seems so considerate and kind , too.
I am in Australia and i bought my Clover crochet hooks online. I love your show Jayda, you always make me smile and I have learnt so much thank you Caz
Hi Caz! Thank you so much for watching :) I hope you enjoy your hooks, I just love mine!
I'm in Michigan, USA and I usually buy my crochet tools at Joann's, Michaels or Walmart. Mostly Joann's.
Thanks for vid
Thank you for sharing, Terri!
I buy mine at Wal-Mart or Michael's. I think you are great, fun to listen to and watch. It's easy to following along with you. I think 70k subscribers is fantastic! Thank you from Jacksboro, Texas.
Hi Jeri! Thank you :)
lay your bamboo hooks flatl, as they warp standing up in a cup....
Great Tip! Thank you for sharing :)
Hi Loly! Thank you for watching and for sharing :)
Exactly. If u send me an address I would b delighted to send you some of my treats. Take care
Hi Danielle! Thank you for sharing :)
I'm in Georgia, I purchase from Michaels, Jo Anns
I love your little giggle. You sound like you belong in my family. haha... I'm so glad I was recommended this video (even though it's over a year old now). I'll be watching more "Jayda InStitches". :)
Hi Diane, welcome to the big crafty family :)
I love your videos
You have the GREATEST giggle...EVER!!!!
congratulations you r super cute and your tools are awesome and your smile ☺ is glittery love you so much from LAHORE Pakistan
I usually go to Joanne's or more rarely Michael's. Like them both but my one complaint is that they stick the yarn supplies way in the back and since it's hard for me to get around it takes forever for me to get back there.
Thank you Meena! :)
They do that at the Michaels I've visited here too. They stuff all the yarn in the back of the store!
I'm in Albany , Western Australia, and I get my stores for crochet at our local Spotlight store or Textile Traders, and I really enjoy your tutorials, you have taught me to crochet, I usually knit, but have given other things for a go, xxx
Hi Lesley, thank you for sharing :)
hı I'm from TÜRKİYE I think our yarn company known by everbody like NAKO ,ALIZE ..etc. tools ,from local shops and like yours ...but cost is different ..unfourtunetly !
Nil Ozcansen ... hey there craft friend... try eBay for crochet hooks and scissors, they are a really good price and great selection.
Hi Nil! Thank you for sharing :)
Hi Jayda , I buy my supplies on Amazon . My crochet hooks are Clover they are very nice, my scissors , measuring tape and needles all on Amazon. Thank you for your tutorial very helpful.
Walmart. I like Boye. the Bates? hooks drive me nuts. the hook is weird. from omaha Nebraska
Every hook I've come across, even the ones made by the same brand, all have little differences! I definitely prefer some over others!
janice Zachar I do too. I thought I would always use the Susan Bates but after using the Boye I found that I like the hook shape better. I still use both though.
Congrats! Thanks for all your great video's and great talent of teaching crochet!
Thank you Theresa :)!
I love A.C.Moore's for my craft supplies........love your tutorials!!!!!
Thank you Lorraine!
I’ve purchased all kinds of crochet hooks , I have quite a collection . My all time favorite Is knitters pride dreamz. They are wood and I purchased them on amazon. They are light, smooth, have a point to them which is so helpful when the yarn can tend to split, I just adore these hooks.
Hi Gail, thank you for sharing! Those sound like beautiful hooks!
I'm in Texas. Most of my crochet supplies come from Joann's, Michael's, Hobby Lobby, and Wal Mart. I seldom buy online unless I'm having trouble getting my hands on something.
Congrats on your view milestone!
Hi Becky! Thank you for sharing :)
Hello from Canada, Sarah! Thank you for watching :)
Love your show, super easy patterns send excellent info. I tune in from Fife, Scotland and recommend you to all my knitting & crochet clubs.
Hello Jayne in Scotland (and to all your crafty friends :)!! Thank you for watching and sharing!
Your the best Jayda!!! I look forward to all your new videos !!
Thank you Alisha! :)
Hi Patrice, thank you so much for sharing! I love your description of your scissors :) I agree, the pleasing sound of a nice "snip" is hard to resist!
Glad to hear you are planning more knitting videos! I love to knit as well as crochet!
Hi Rosemary! When I developed worsening arthritis symptoms, my Clover Amour hooks were a total game changer for me 😊 They're still my favorite!
I also would life to see some of your knitting projects that are done.😁
Hi Janice, welcome to our big, crafty family and thank you for watching!
Thank you!
Hi Belle, thank you for sharing! I'm so glad to hear you have time for such a fun hobby again :)
Hi Desirey, thank you so much for sharing and watching!
Hola,
I get most of my supplies from Michaels, JoAnns, and Amazon. My favorite crochet hooks are the Clover Hooks, they're easier for my hands. I have Lupus and my hands ache quite a bit, clovers are more comfortable for me.
BTW, you ROCK!!!! Thank you
Thank you for sharing, Brenda!! :)
You are just awesome!Really enjoyed seeing your tools collection Thanks a lot and keep going!!!
Thank you Meena! :)
My favorite cutting tool is my Clover snipper. I picked it up at Wal-Mart. I also love Susan Bates aluminum hooks.
Hi Tammy, thank you for watching and sharing!
I found a great idea to store my yarn needles. At the craft store they have glitter mixing tubes. They are 3 inches long and 1/2 inch diameter. They have a screw on lids and work great for carrying yarn needles with your craft bag.
Hi Janet! That does sound like a great way to store (and carry) your needles! Super tip, thank you!
I would LOVE to try making a cover for my tape measure!
Jo Anne’s does not currently have anything cute like yours.
Thank you for sharing, Paulette :)
I'm in New Zealand and just learning so watching all your video's
Hello from Canada, Jude! Thank you for watching :)
Hi Margarita, welcome to the big, crafty family! Thank you for sharing :)
I usually get my supplies at AC Moore or Joann fabrics and once in a while at Michael's
Hi Valerie! Thank you for sharing and for watching :) Oh boy! If I worked at a Joanns I think my paychecks would barely leave the store * giggle *
I use alot of diffrent hooks but my fav is boyde with handles that i make for them to reduce cramping in my hands.
Hi Teresa, thank you for sharing! Hand cramping can take the fun out of crafting, for sure!
Hi Abby, that sounds like a great collection! I'll have to check out the Furls hooks :)
Jayda InStitches i love my grans old hooks. nothing nicer 😍 knowing she's crocheted with them and remembering how she taught me.
Hi Heather! What a lovely thing to have gotten from your grandmother! Thank you for sharing :)
Thank you!learning how to crochet with you. I live in Ottawa Ontario.
