Another excellent video, I remember this stretch of I-95 quite well running back and forth from Philly to Florida. One caveat: I do believe that six lane section was done sometime in the early 2000's, I can distinctly remember driving it and thanking God for that 6 lane section, short as it is. SC, can we have more please?
Oh yeah,I always stop at the TV Road exit to eat and gas up at this exit,169 at Pedro. I love the 6 lanes through here, but I wish they would 6 lane it all the way up through I-95 up through NC where I go to though.
Great video! Seeing the amount of traffic on I-95 south of Florence, I can't see why you think I-95 should be 6-lane all across the state. Although, I'm not against the idea of the interstate being 6-lane across the state. Maybe it's because I don't drive on I-95 past Hardeeville.
+Caleb Harper The problem is that I-95 is the main north-south route on the Eastern Seaboard. It can get scary when passing thru traffic encounters the antiquated 4-lane stretches in South Carolina. Some of the most honorific accidents that occur in this state happen along these 4-lane stretches. Glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for watching.
Ahh, I-95 in Florence. I go through this area everytime im on I-95 going from Savannah to New York City (I live in Savannah, born in Charleston). I also agree that I-95 should be 6 lanes through the entire state of South Carolina. Everytime I take I-95 through South Carolina, Myrtle beach traffic backs up the highway so bad. And in Savannah, at the SC/GA border where I-95 turns into 4 lanes at the bridge, it bottlenecks traffic here in Savannah and it's annoying as hell. SCDOT needs to be like Georgia for once and make I-95 6 lanes through the entire state. Here in Georgia, when the traffic gets heavy heading toward Florida, it flows pretty well due to I-95 being 6 lanes through Georgia, and Florida also keeping I-95 at 6 lanes. I-95 in Florence is like a relief due to it being 6 lanes.
Thank's man...Is Beautiful road...
+Edir Welter Thank you glad you enjoyed
I've been through here back and forth from NC to GA numerous times over the past 40 years. Very interesting ride. Thanks!!
1-95 through Florence was widened in 2002 not 2014. SCDOT will soon begin a 33 mile section coming out of Georgia but it won’t be finished until 2032.

+DeaconG1959 Absolutely, SC needs to make I-95 6-lanes border to border. Glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching
