Not gonna lie, that inspirational speech at the beginning was at least 30% of the reason why your army dominated. That shit pumped me up and I wasn't even playing. It's 1 am here at my apartment complex and it took quite a bit of self-restraint to not cry out out loud in a fevered war cry. ^_^
TBH Joe's original ESO review was pre Tamriel Unlimited, Zenimax Online have really listened and catered to all of the complaints. It is amazing now, so fun. It has also won a Best MMO 2015 award too! There is sooo much content for money's worth too (quests alone) and no subscription either. I have even mentioned Dungeons or PVP PVE in Cyrodill either (which as you can see is awesome) JUST DON'T EXPECT SKYRIM! Haha

But in summary I have never encountered lag in my Non Vet campaign....

Any sizable keep siege will cause everyone's ping to jump to 500-999+. I read (I think from a developer's post on the official forums) that vet campaigns specifically suffer more because every character will have every passive, every skill morph, set bonuses, potion buffs, champion point bonuses, etc. Because all of these things modify abilities and character performance, it creates an exponentially increasing amount of calculations required by the game servers. Compare that to non-vet: which at times might be a zone filled with level 10's pressing only light attack and dodge roll and its night and day.

well lets take it as an example: the military which is led by a high up the ranks organization. Who leads the troops into battle? The General normally, which is a person with high authority and plenty of experience.
That's not so much the reason why they made guilds, it was more to be part of a community where you can do something to contribute and mass your numbers whether it be a trade guild or a craft guild they did it to make the game more interesting because at least in my literally view when i played i never saw one guild (except the elite guilds, of course) properly be led in to battle by a select group of leads leading their entire force.
Im with you there, and from what I have seen on Joe's stream the PvE content is quite dull to me, I will stick with GW2 for pvp WvW since its bassicly free for me now even if it does have its issues
Kinda, but I just dont think a full price plus $15 a month PLUS expansions is worth it. If they could guarantee the expansions would be free and take it down to like $10 I would concider it

***** The only problem with grouping in my opinion is the looking for group tool, it was broken for a long time so nobody used it at all, Zenimax have claimed to have fixed it, and some players have also said it works well now but not enough people use it to know for sure and if not many people use it then it doesn't work as well, so bit of a circle there because if people don't use it, it doesn't work to it's fullest potential, but people don't use it because it doesn't work to it's fullest potential. So most people just use zone chat to find groups.
If you're looking to get into video games, don't get this one. Get its predecessor, _The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim._ Either that or any of the _Mass Effect_ games.
Jerry Smith I don't think so. Most other RPGs are a lot more complex, forcing you to manage inventory more efficiently and so on, and focusing more on battle tactics. You want a bad entry point to the genre? Try Dragon Age: Origins; that's where I started with RPGs. It's not the hardest out there, but for a noob it's d*mn impossible. Combat tactics and preparation play such a huge role in that game compared to Skyrim that anyone new to the genre is going to be utterly lost as to how best to go into an encounter. In Skyrim, if you stay in the shadows and take down enemies stealthily, you've got a good shot at winning most of the encounters the first time. DA:O is an excellent game once you get it figured out, though. As a gamer, it's very... BioWare-y. Duncan McCallum You'll understand what I mean once you play a few BioWare game, I'm sure. :)

I was laughing hard when watching this because the exact same thing happened to me at the time. I love Joe's reaction though "And no one charges?" so confused haha. I knew at the time it was lock up because I'm used to it. I think it happened to everyone, must have been the server.
Its worse. They've added so much shit to the game the servers no longer can handle the load. Back when this review was made you didn't have all the Pokémon mounts with glowing shit, glowing weapons and gear, hundreds of different motifs, procs to calculate, etc.
While I did subcribe for the reviews and frankly, I'm not very interested in the Angry Army stuff, I totally watch the Angry Reviews for entertainment and not to guide my purchase of a game (Since they don't come out for every game and as they are released). Is it like that for any of you guys too? Do you need Joe's reviews to decide if you should buy a game or not, or do you watch them just for entertainment? If it's for entertainment, I guess it doesn't really matter WHEN a review comes out actually.. : P I'm just asking a question. Not complaining or anything...
I see AngryJoeShow only for reviews, i don't really give credit to his reviews on the point that it would make me buy/not buy a game, it is (just like you) for entertainment, he does buy costumes and he sure make a very detailed (Joe knows how to do his homework) and fun edit of his reviews, sometimes i watch one non-review video like this one (dah), but they feel lazy and chaotic if you put it side by side with a review video.... Remember folks, my opinion though!

Bit of both. Different reviewers like different things and different games. It's good to find a reviewer who holds the same ideas and likes/dislikes as you. I watched a ton of Angry Joes old videos about games I've already bought and played and found that I agreed with him far more often than not. Obviously I'm not just taking his word for it, but so far he's been an awesome guideline. Also yeah he's entertaining.
I shared your view and only watched AJ in the same way I would watch Nostalgia critic,he delivers the final stake in the grave or the final thumps up in a very entertaining way. But once I stopped pre-ordering as much, it now feels like his reviews are coming out more and more at the perfect time to affect my choice, so I guess its a more of a personal spending issue. I don't know wheter he uses his free time for the angry army or if it spills into his actual work, right now it just seems to co-allign so I don't mind, but for people who live in the EU, it can be frustrating to keep seeing community oriented videos we can't easily participate in.

Doesnt lag or chop at all for me, thats on my old ass i5 2500k and 560gtx, with the game maxed out. The old myth that mmo's grind to a halt with 100 players on screen isn't applicable anymore. Aion could handle it, Planetside 2 can handle it, Archage can handle it, Guild Wars 2 can handle it, Tera can handle it, ESO can handle it. When you're spending 1mb/s or more upload to streaming in 1080p, you'll have lag. Definetly.

I miss this kind of pvp. Large group on large group. BIG FUCKING BATTLES Not ball groups talking behind closed doors about which faction to emp in next or who or which faction to constantly harass next campaign. Just play the game
This pvp would be much better if they could add in collision effects. Imagine having soldiers line up and hold their shields as one, holding back an invasion as a group of archers help them by firing from behind. Unfortunately coordination as that won't work, simply because of the fact that people can walk right through you. At the moment it just looks like a large mass of uncoordinated people. You should depressed your people into groups, the warriors, the mages, the archers. Specifically tell your members what weapons and what class to play as.
Damn I'm torn lol cuz I got 2 characters most are ebon heart pact but I also have an aldemeri dominion kahjitt and one in the pact & a few dagger fall covenant who I never played with much. My highest character is the pact but after a year off the game and all my characters got reset or rerolled so I just started over cuz I forgot all my abilities and am realizing how much I missed this game purely for the pvp & I didn't find the pve to bbe as bad as the reviews gave it I kinda enjoy it and want to see where the story takes me I'm having more fun in this game than eveything else on console right now! Till BF 1 comes out. It was a bad timed release from a play time stand but not sales. They should have a sale on this game to bring players in new ones who have nothing to do now & missed out on the release or didn't want to pay to play or full price or w/e the biggest gripe about it is the class skills being kinda shit and any class can almost do any roll except heals but like a NB Mage who uses a staff for example I like the freedom of it at the same time tho. But the class skill trees are what's not fun and more mmorpg seem to be heDed in this dumbed down combat system as well. Also with so many skills to choose from the grind can be tedious w/o power levelling. But damn the pvp in this is probably the most epic mid evil pvp ever seen in any game ever!

***** you obviously haven't seen the PS4 beta play lol. The UI is exactly like Skyrim. Also you must not play console if you think it has too many hot keys. Devs have been playing on controllers since alpha, PS4 UI is alot better and smoother than the PC version. In fact most of the videos that streamed beta had alot of PC players who even admitted the console UI and controllers made it so much easier since it was just like the UI from Skyrim.

if you dont stream its not choppy... if u have a decent machine and wont stream... it will be pretty smooth.

The old myth that mmo's grind to a halt with 100 players on screen isn't applicable anymore. Aion could handle it, Planetside 2 can handle it, Archage can handle it, Guild Wars 2 can handle it, Tera can handle it, ESO can handle it.
When you're spending 1mb/s or more upload to streaming in 1080p, you'll have lag. Definetly.

This pvp would be much better if they could add in collision effects.
Imagine having soldiers line up and hold their shields as one, holding back an invasion as a group of archers help them by firing from behind.
Unfortunately coordination as that won't work, simply because of the fact that people can walk right through you.
At the moment it just looks like a large mass of uncoordinated people.
You should depressed your people into groups, the warriors, the mages, the archers.
Specifically tell your members what weapons and what class to play as.
The game doesn't look bad, but it doesn't look like it would be worth the $15/month price tag. I just hope TES6 will be good :)

Damn I'm torn lol cuz I got 2 characters most are ebon heart pact but I also have an aldemeri dominion kahjitt and one in the pact & a few dagger fall covenant who I never played with much. My highest character is the pact but after a year off the game and all my characters got reset or rerolled so I just started over cuz I forgot all my abilities and am realizing how much I missed this game purely for the pvp & I didn't find the pve to bbe as bad as the reviews gave it I kinda enjoy it and want to see where the story takes me I'm having more fun in this game than eveything else on console right now! Till BF 1 comes out. It was a bad timed release from a play time stand but not sales. They should have a sale on this game to bring players in new ones who have nothing to do now & missed out on the release or didn't want to pay to play or full price or w/e the biggest gripe about it is the class skills being kinda shit and any class can almost do any roll except heals but like a NB Mage who uses a staff for example I like the freedom of it at the same time tho. But the class skill trees are what's not fun and more mmorpg seem to be heDed in this dumbed down combat system as well. Also with so many skills to choose from the grind can be tedious w/o power levelling. But damn the pvp in this is probably the most epic mid evil pvp ever seen in any game ever!

***** you obviously haven't seen the PS4 beta play lol. The UI is exactly like Skyrim. Also you must not play console if you think it has too many hot keys. Devs have been playing on controllers since alpha, PS4 UI is alot better and smoother than the PC version. In fact most of the videos that streamed beta had alot of PC players who even admitted the console UI and controllers made it so much easier since it was just like the UI from Skyrim.
