I sat down on New Year's Eve 2014 to watch a few Moe Norman videos and it was the following year before I could tear myself away.

these videos are full of gold. I've had the good fortune to get lessons from Greg Lavern and what he's taught me, what he got from Moe, is here in these videos. Awesome! Thanks for posting.

Moe Norman is a national treasure, I would give anything to have met the man. But he changed the way I look at the game and at life,, thank you so so much for sharing this wonderful video

All us golfers look for a golf swing that is consistent in which we never find, some days we might have thought we had found it, but then loose it in our next game, that is why so many golfers chucked the game through frustration, so now I wonder how Moe felt when he eventually found the perfect consistent golf swing and how he found the adjustments he made on his own, he must have thought to himself that one of his practice days would go wrong with this/his set up, till weeks go by, maybe months, after that time he then must have knew he had the gift in finding this swing, It is not only a one plane swing, it's a Moe Norman swing/plane, his set up is what he worked on and what he found what works, so lets not take this swing of Moe's creation away from him in calling it a one plane golf swing! NO in Is little Moe's swing! Or better still a Moe Norman savour to the world frustrated golfers! RIP Moe!!!!

The secret to the golf swing was told in this tid bit. Moe gave the jewel we all chase. Hogan, Knudson, Norman, Boros they all had the same move. Listen to him and go to the range. It doesn't matter how odd he looks. He is doing the core of any solid golf swing. They all have two solid characteristics. All of these golf pros and swing aficionados are swindling the general public. At the 9 minute mark until the 9:30 mark he gave it up. He pulls like crazy and he shifts the lower body. PERIOD. Plane is such an abused term. RIP Moe, Knudson and Hogan. They gave up the goods. Just get to the range and use it.

He gets his speed from the right hand in his release when the trail side extends and straightens after impact .

As a traditional golfer who learnt the game from Jack and Ben i must say Moe makes alot of sense and i guess the ball doesnt lie, but making the switch to this method does make me nervous, buts its very tempting.

true, the quote was really just tongue and cheek on Hogan's part, I'm sure there was mutual respect between the two of them

It's a shame that the PGA had to react the way they did to Moe's style. Imagine how much more popular golf could have been if he kept playing in the PGA.

Props to LeftofMoe for letting me know and thanks maxxsee for posting!
Do you think it helps to play golf from your non-dominant side?
I'm right handed but play golf left handed, so my right hand has always been doing most of the work, leading the club. I wonder if it's harder if you are right handed and play right handed. 90% of golfers are righties, surely someone has an opinon on this?

@4JRimmer I wouldn't call him "disabled", he seems pretty able :P. But yeah, he just had confidence. And for good reason. To this day nobody's gone 7 years without missing a fairway. Or anyone else ever for that matter.

disagree, Moe admired Hogan for sure but Moe was talking about his unique swing and style which was truly his own (especially how he finishes his swing aiming at his target), Ben Hogan had a much different swing and always tried to put a bit of fade on the ball which he thought was more natural, Hogan believed that dead straight shots were accidents, one time Hogan saw Moe hitting shot after shot dead straight on a range and Hogan told Moe "you just keep hitting those accidents kid"

His swing is obviously not text book but I can see how it could work. He seems to have removed any variable which may risk his swing going off kilter.

@Ligerpride whats textbook is what the media says is textbook. every golfer must take their own swing and stop worrying abbout fix it. things go wrong then u want to fix some more. just play target golf. forget about compensating for the ball.

Here Moe says he pulls the club and the right arm is just along for the ride. In another video on youtube he was asked " Moe where do you get your power from". His answer "from the right arm....all this crap about the big muscles pulling the small muscles, like the dog wagging the tail...what a pile of crap.Women wouldn't be playing the game if that was true",

My guess is he can't hit a flop shot. You need to add loft to the club and that is not done with lag.
