    Thankyou for another great tutorial. I love the little tips you pass on, like the hand stitching of the corners. I know it should be obvious, but I’ve tended to struggle on with the machine in the past. I wanted to tell you you’ve also inspired me to do more hand basting, it’s so worth it for a much improved sewing experience. Your blazer looks fabulous on you.

    Loved constructing this garment....pocket construction was so fun. I am not getting a nice result with the back armhole design. The two jackets I made had correct stretch etc, but the armholes look like razer back tank design rather than a standard jacket design. Am I the only one who is mourning this issue???

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe tou might benefit from a slight broad back adjustment. It is a fitted sleeve so the shape is a little different to a woven jacket.

    I appreciate seeing options. I saw another creator do the neckline, sewing all layers at once without any hand stitching or basting. I knew I would not be able to make that look very neat, but with your techniques, I think I could make a satisfactory go of it.
    I remember when you got your machine just 4 or 5 years ago, wasn't it? I have the same brand, and have had a few issues, but none related to dense fabric. I hope all is smooth sewing from now on!

      My machine is 3 years old and I’d never had an issue, even with lots of layers of denim. But this specific knit was just two much there with the collar layers. I think you’ll always see me go the extra mile. It’s in my nature even if it takes a little longer :)

    Thank you SO much for this, Karina! I've seen so many people sewing this up, and they're all amazing... but everyone seems to sew the same version you did with the wide lapels. While I LOVE that look, I try to wear garments that don't add bulk to my chest because I'm quite too heavy. But I didn't realize this pattern includes the narrower lapel version. Thank you! It’s so helpful to watch your detailed techniques. Great advice for achieving beautiful faux welt pockets. Excellent tutorial for those tricky snipped corner pivots. I struggle with these when making my favorite hoodie and have also hand stitched just around the pivot area to better control the fabric. When I am close to pivot point (as I stitch toward pivot point) I try to position any excess fabric (possible puckers) toward me. Then at pivot point (with needle down and presser foot up) I try to position excess fabric (possible puckers) away from me.

    Hey thanks vor your beautiful infos, pleas look your Video Pants fitting i have a big problem,
    Hallo dear, i m from Germany and my english is bad i have a problem my pants oha,
    Hello your tips are great. I want to sew myself trousers out of woven fabric. Unfortunately I have a big bottom and the patterns are not made for it. The hips are not as pronounced but the thighs are back and the stomach is also plump. I'm small, 1.52, 70 kg. It always doesn't fit in the step curve, I've been trying on for ages but the pants don't fit right, I'm desperate. What is the reason? make step curve rounder and longer?

      You need to make different sizes for your waist and hips, not just one size from the pattern. You can blend the lines smoothly yo go from one size to the other.
