Yes, she has the right to get any cosmetic surgery she wants- but I remember when she was first casted as Katniss, she was very open and vocal about all the negativity she received from the industry about her appearance. She has also stated multiple times that she’s always thought she looked great, but was constantly told otherwise. I can’t help but think that these procedures were less about what she wanted, and more about what was expected of her.
She was criticized specifically for that part because she looked nothing like the character and the character was supposed to be starving, which was not her body type. There was a lot of controversy about whether she would lose weight for the part and she refused, which made fans of the book confused and annoyed as it made no sense to the storyline. Why was she cast in the part if she wasn't going to reflect the character.

@@kp4911I thought so too in the beginning, but she encapsulated the role perfectly and the movies turned out amazing, so ultimately it didn't matter. Looking back at her now, she was actually quite thin already. I don't think her losing more weight was necessary, she made the right call.
Her new face is very “perfect,” it hits all of our conventional beauty standards. Yet, she looks very generic. What was left of her unique features were removed, along with the artificial features that she had from previous surgeries. What’s left is very bland tbh, it may be “perfect” but honestly perfection is pretty boring. It really goes to show what an impact our facial features have on our uniqueness, I hope the people who watch this video can come out of it with some appreciation for their own features. Even the features we might see as flaws. Because those flaws keep us unique.

As someone with hooded eyes myself, it makes me sad to see the few celebs who kept their hooded eyes getting rid of them. Not to blame J'Law in any way, I can't imagine what it must feel like if everyone around you sees the beauty doc more often then their mother, but J'Law has always been a great example for a gorgeous face with hooded eyes. Now she looks like all these Kims Megans and Arianas: beautiful but cold and sharp.

This!! I was always so self-conscious of my hooded eyes. I remember seeing a magazine - Glamour or Vogue or something - having a headline saying she had the year's sexiest eyes and I was so excited to finally see someone's hooded eyes be agreed upon by people whose job it is to critique beauty as being beautiful. It sounds silly, but for a teenager who really looked at her as someone I wanted to be like and related to, it was huge for me.

I thought maybe she had some small stuff done. She had her nose done a long time ago, but it wasn't obvious. Filler here and there wasn't obvious, but when I saw her recently she seemed like a live example of a Photoshopped version.

@@marieb5251Lorry mentioned in another video that what she does is find before and after photos with similar angles, overlay them over one another, and adjust the transparency to see if there’s changes to the features that can’t be explained by natural causes. Sure she probably gets it wrong sometimes, but she’s also not shooting darts blindly.

As a huge hunger games fan, I’ve been keeping an eye on J’Law over the years. I think her plastic surgery looks good, but at the same time it is disappointing to see her unique features fade over the years, especially with the upper facelift and her most recent changes. I hope she knows when to stop and to not erase everything. I was also surprised at the amount of procedures
I agree. She used to be my idol because I did some acting as a child, and her natural, effortless talent and bubbly personality really inspired me. It's really depressing to see her change her appearance so much, I wish she stopped because her face was truly fine. IMO she kind of aged up her face, it doesn't look more youthful to me. She's still absolutely beautiful I just think she aged her face. She'll keep going and going just like the other celebrities do.

I’ve always thought she was so gorgeous, and while crazy beautiful she seemed accessible. Her look now is now so far towards ‘perfect’ that it changes her vibe. Which is what I think so many people loved about her. I’m sure the pressure is immense, I’d probably cave too.

I think she's now lost that girl-next-door vibe which was made her look so youthful and accessible. Megan Fox had the same look in Transformers but had work done which changed that vibe.

The change between 18-21 is really drastic, the before doesn’t even look like her. I guess because she made that change so young, the after is what’s recognizable. And I honestly thought she was so beautiful and even with plastic surgery had a unique look. I liked that her face was rounder, it made her look youthful. Now I think she followed the plastic surgery trends in Hollywood and now every celebrity is starting to look the same and have the same features - prominent cheekbones, buccal fat removal, slim jaw, full lips, eyebrows high on the face, no more hooded eyes, and more
Edit: I was looking at pictures the other day after reading her interview with Kylie and I think the makeup in the thumbnail did make it seem like she had more plastic surgery than she has. Her eyes are still hooded though the makeup is done well to make them not look so. And she talked about her makeup artist over-lining her lips. It's probable she has some lip filler but not as drastic as the photos show. You can really see the over-lining at 13:43

It's sad and disappointing. IMO she made herself look older than what she actually is -- still gorgeous, but older. And it's kind of scary to think about these celebrities all slowly just turning into clones of each other with the same faces. Someone new and natural shows up, and next thing you know, they become a clone. Kind of disturbing in a way.

Oh my god, I just recently saw a picture of her right now and I almost didn‘t recognize her, I was pretty sure she got significant plastic surgery so very excited to see what you think she has had done
she had such unique features and was the only actress that has came so far in her career with her features. now she has perfected everything, and her unique eyes are turned into almost almond eyes. I genuinely gasped at where she has come to. whatever the reason, it's somehow saddening to see someone leave most of the features she had behind.

It's interesting to me, how the more surgery done, the more celebrities begin to look like one another. I am far from perfect but know my imperfections have been passed down gentically from my parents and ancestors which reminds me to honor them by remaining me. I hope that whatever the reasoning Jennifer had this done, it wasnt because she felt she had to, to be loved. She was beautiful at all stages.
My family made fun of my nose so on bad days I have dysphoria. I remind myself this is a nose of South East Asia and from my ancestors.

@@puffball4484 I am 54 and got my cheek fillers dissolved after having them for 4 years. Yes they were still there, as I had an ultra sound to prove it. My face looks tons better and I had no drooping. It was a concern of mine, but the doctor said it won't happen and he was correct!

She is almost unrecognisable, she looks like everyone else now. It's a shame because she was always so distinctive physically and quirky in her personality and this latest change is so generic.
Thanks Lorry for this video because what I thought was Jennifer's original face was actually already plastic surgery! She was, and is gorgeous, but it's funny to me that the changes she made at first that were the least attractive to me, like the overfilled cheeks and the very pulled eyes, were her tweaked features.
However that face was her trademark, this not so much. She now looks like dozens of other people I could name off the top of my head. It doesn't take away from her talent or her beauty but it has removed her distinctiveness.
personally i think she should have kept the hooded eyes. they were practically her signature. she looks so strange without them- like a constant surprised face. shame everyone is starting to look the same and hooded eyes are not considered beautiful. i think they're alluring and very pretty.

Jennifer Lawrence IMO now looks like Ivanka Trump who had a similar natural face so I can see how the result of plastic surgery would end up creating a resemblance.
I don't think they actually look identical. I just think their faces have become so cohesive and symmetrical, that any prominant features have blended in. It's like a trick of the eye and probably confusing for our evolutionary way of identifying faces 😂 I'm actually bad with remembering faces, but I don't really confuse celebs with other celebs. (Unless it's a weird photoshopped image).

I had a weird attachment to her and for some reason it's sad to see her now! We can't know that we wouldn't make the same choices under the same pressures. Makeup only explains so much. I had no idea she'd done so much starting so young.

@@JayneNicoletti because it was making her lower face sag. Fat IS NOT ALWAYS YOUTHFUL. It can drag the face down as well. She did not have ideal fat placement in her face to begin with, hence the early mid face lift and cheek implants. She was a good candidate for buccal fat removal.

Thank you for this video! I recently saw No Hard Feelings in the theatre. I actually gasped the first time I saw her face on the big screen because she looked so different! Not in a bad way, just not how I remember her looking in prior films. I think she has lost a bit of her unique look, but I think it's hard for us "normal" people to understand the enormous pressure on actresses to stay looking youthful.

That's just wild to me! My first exposure to her was in Winter's Bone and I always thought she was one of the more natural celebrities. At the end of the day, it's her face so I can only hope that she's healthy and happy. Now, I'm curious about other celebrities who I thought are more natural like Gal Gadot, Kirsten Dunst, and Daniel Craig.

Let's be honest, Jennifer has always done a remarkable job of looking subtle and natural. In contrast, her recent procedures are very apparent, but she looks absolutely incredible. I would say one of the most remarkable plastic surgery transformations I've seen.

I think she is very pretty, almost perfect...but she does not look like her self and definitely looks older than she is. She took it a bit too far in my opinion. Despite all that almost perfection: I think she looked better before. Imperfection is the true perfection. However , if she is happy with it, that's the most important thing.

What's so sad about this is that she must have had these procedures shortly after her pregnancy (or maybe during?) I mean becoming a mother is already a lot. But getting these procedures done at the same time... 😳

Thank you for mentioning the possible effects of fillers in the long run! It's not talked about enough, even doctors encourage fillers like it's nothing and goes away. But if even Jennifer's very young skin couldn't bounce back, it's something to think about.

Yeah I feel like fillers in the face can really just make things worse. I’d rather just get a little filler in my lips so I can keep wearing my lipsticks! But facial fillers I feel like they do more harm than good in my opinion. I’m all for upkeep believe me but I’ve seen the effects on actors who over fill.

@@Exorcist364xs exactly, just look at simon cowell his face is literally melting and after so many fillers you are in need of a facelift because of the excess skin. Filler in the face is really a hard gamble as it doesnt stay. I would be very cautious of filler in the upper lip as well, as it also spreads.

Jennifer's talent as an actor is impeccable. It is sad how women are pressured to conform so much to this standard of beauty. If society demands the same of men, would people have more empathy?

men are pressured in Hollywood too, not just women. Part of their job is to look beautiful (more beautiful than a normal human being), so logically if they want to continue in that industry they will have to get surgeries. Nobody is forcing them, they could always refuse and leave, get another job or just enjoy the millions they have already made haha

I have a chin implant, you can't feel it at all and of course it doesn't move
The change in her eyes makes her look like a completely different person, there's almost no trace of her original features.
I, too, have noticed how these women are all beginning to look alike. I first saw Jennifer in "Silver Linings Playbook" and liked her non-perfect features! It fit her character so well. She still is recognizable and beautiful; however, she does have "that look" they all have: high wide cheekbones; slim nose; pouty lips; and raised eyebrows. Add to that, the light straight hair; light eyes; tan, glowing skin, and so on. There was a time when plastic surgery was intended to give a refreshed look(like you have had a restful vacation), but still keeping a unique look. Now, it is very obvious that celebrities from all walks of life look like clones of each other. 😮😢 Thank you for explaining the procedures. 🙏✌️❤️

I’ve been following a plastic surgeon out of NY on IG and I saw a customer who did a consult comment that it STARTS AT 100k!😮. I was shook. In zero need but will start saving my coins now bc his patients look phenomenal and somehow exactly like themselves after. Even being in their 60s.

Her hooded eyes actually made her look very unique. Around the time that she won the Oscar she was looking really good. I don't think anything was necessary
Her eyes were the most iconic thing about her, eyes and eyebrows are the two most recognisable regions on a face. If she'd have gone more subtle so as not to totally change those two things, people would not have been so shocked
She was perfect before the last/recent work. Her beauty was very unique and now she's looking more regular.
Lorry, have you given more thought to becoming a cosmetic surgery consultant? Your deep knowledge of each procedure done to achieve a specific look would really help people receive an unbiased opinion when it comes to which procedures will help them achieve a certain look without the added pressure from cosmetic surgeons to have additional procedures done that may deviate from the look they are aiming for.

She was just on the show "Hot Ones" doing an interview with Sean. Her face is so close to the camera, she's eating the hot chicken wings crying, sniffing and screaming, you can get a really good look at her face.
I also noticed the changes especially recently.. her jaw and face shape is sooo different and pointy and her lips shape is soo different as well 😂
