2022 Chevrolet TrailBlazer Activ VS 2022 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk: BEST Offroader!

- 👋 In todays comparison we take a look at two mini off-roaders! The 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer Activ and the 2022 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk! Both of these are small SUV's that offer some offroad capabilities and are also great daily drivers for a vehicle right around $30K!
The Chevy Trailblazer Activ model is designed for more rugged driving, meaning going off the pavement! Part of this trim level is skid plates, an offroad tuned suspension and the beefier all terrain tires! There is no height added, however, with around 8'' of ground clearance, that's pretty impressive for this smaller size SUV! The 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer has a great exterior design and especially finished off in this two tone orange and white, it's a bold vehicle! The black chrome adds a great touch, but there is some plastic on the exterior! The interior is nice with the leather seats and the trim accents on the front door panels! It drove very nice and tracked straight, smooth as well. I don't really have any complaints with driving it, and the gas mileage was impressive for this smaller engine and I averaged around 31mpg over around 400 miles. I have seen some V6 models do that as well, so hard to truly say how impressive it is. But for the smaller engine, it packs a punch and is economical.
The Jeep Renegade is not a hard core off-roader from Jeep like the Wrangler, but offers good ground clearance and several drive modes to handle off the pavement driving! The Jeep Renegade has a unique design to it and with the Trailhawk package, it provides this with all the red accents both on the exterior and interior! The interior of this Jeep Renegade Trailhawk has cloth seats with a neat design on the inserts and all the red accents in the front seat area! It would be cool to see more red accents for the backseat passengers though! For the size of this Jeep Renegade, it actually offers a good amount of interior storage which is really great to see and it can even tow! The 2022 Jeep Renegade is a pretty practical smaller size SUV that you can daily drive and even with the small turbo charged engine, it's pretty peppy and since it's light weight it can get up to speed just fine! This is a smooth driving vehicle and has plenty of features to make this a great daily without spending too much on technology you wouldn't want!

I have a 21 trailhawk loaded up and it's a great little do all vehicle. It's really amazing how capable these toasters are.

I drove the Fiat 500 X yesterday which is pretty much the same thing as the renegade and I really really liked it.
I’ve been in a fiat 500 and it’s cool, not as nice I feel.
I’d go for the Jeep Renegade.
Plus, it’s more accessible than the Chevy, cos the Renegade is sold in more areas like Europe, South Africa, Japan and Australia.

Interesting video! I like the looks of the TrailBlazer and have had one in the past. It was 4 wheel drive with low range as a proper TrailBlazer should be. I recently purchased a 2018 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk and it is a fantastic vehicle. One thing that gets overlooked when discussing vehicles are the physical limitations of the driver. I am 82 and have problems, even with the Trailhawk, of getting my right foot high enough to enter the vehicle. Anything with more ride height is virtually impossible. I do quite a bit of trail driving requiring 4 wheel drive and the additional clearance height. You are spot on! The Jeep is the better option!

The Trailblazer also has the front passenger seat that can fold flat.
So you did not go off road ?So how can you rate them?
I didn’t say much about off-roading. I don’t own these dealer vehicles, so that’s not something I can do with them.
I pick the Trailblazer, better mpg and just as practical; the two main points when it comes to small compact SUVs aka economy cars on stilts. 🤭
Only problem I have with the trailblazer is that it’s not seeing the trails! Even the ford Bronco sport is more focused, so that and the renegade, but if that’s not something a buyer is interested in, the trailblazer works.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Bronco Sport is definitely my favorite if you were to compare it to the Trailblazer and Renegade.
The Bronco Sport gets decent mpg and can do some offroading as well, it basically has the combination of the good features of the Trailblazer and Renegade.
Renegade Trailhawk all day, the Trailblazer is NOT for off road, it’s not a real Trailblazer
I would agree!! The trailblazer should have been more focused for off-road! Chevy went soft with that.
I bought the Jeep for my daughter, I would not recommend it. It’s ok, but driving in the rain it get very sloppy even with Michelin Defenders, so it’s the Jeep. The Jeep is ok, but definitely not an off road vehicle. If in town, I am sure either are fine, but would not pick the Renegade again.
I was cross shopping these two and went with a new 2023 renegade for 24k. Much better value, more comfortable seats, softer ride, and uconnect info system is much better.

I’m not a fan of those two cars but if I had to. I’ll get the trailblazer. Because the Jeep Renagede is not a Jeep. It’s a Re-badged four wheel drive Fiat 500. It’s an Italian brand and it’s just badged the call them Jeep Renegade
I wouldn’t say it’s a rebadged 500. That can’t even compete with the renegade. I’d take it over the trailblazer.

@@BrosFOURRSpeed because of all the comparisons I’ve watched regarding the off-road capabilities. And Sport works perfectly for on road handling and snow and ice. My point was it easily could have been part of the video.

The Jeep is the true winner here. The problem With GM they need a better ceo like the like they had in past this person that they have now is destroying the business because she was put in by Obama
I'd take the Jeep too! The Chevy isn't really an "off-roader" compared to the Renegade.

These car companies are dumb putting three cylinders in 😂 the Chevy Trailblazer don't have that good of a suspension pair to the Jeep GM needs to quit building nothing but front-wheel drive hire a actual CEO that will actually make GM a better company again
