Ok can I just say that your dinner looked amazing? I think you're moving cause y'all bought a house. I love your wifey vlogs even though God had me go through some pretty deep valleys that made me get a divorce twice with ligament reasons for leaving like SA & abuse in the worst ways. I've been married for 4 years to my best friend & I finally feel safe & home when I'm with him. I thank God everyday for him, my 2 daughters from those first 2 marriages & I've gotten to where I think him for those valleys. Something I learned for both your channels. I don't think I could have gotten to this point without you and your sister & the grace of God from just stumbling across Coffee and Bible Time. May God continue to bless you, your marriage & your family.

Hi Ashley, first I want to commend and encourage you on not only being so faithful as a new wife (I'm in the same season as you, only three months behind and also had to move states to where my husband is), but the fact that you are also SO DEDICATED to learning a new culture and language! It really shows how much you respect your husband! Hopefully these words can be helpful when newly married life is difficult at moments. I'm going to think with you trying to go more natural and paying attention to hormone balance, y'all are moving because your family is growing, or y'all are moving towards those steps! OR you may just be moving because Johnny got a new pastor job. Love your videos! Please do more cooking videos, as a wife myself always looking for more gluten-free and dairy-free recipes for hormonal balance myself.

I used to watch a homesteading channel on TH-cam where this lady has a huge garden at her new house. She has stated that you're not really born with a green thumb. It’s really through research & trial & error where you learn. Although she has sucesses in her garden, she has killed her house plants too so no worries.

I always killed plants. For years any plant that was mine had a death sentence. But then... But then... I bought gardening gloves and my plant curse lol was lifted.
There is something about my body chemistry that kills plants. Gardening gloves are not expensive. It is worth a try. All the best! God Bless!

You CAN do it!!! Cleaning while you cook will become second nature soon!!
With the tofu sticking, try canola oil (it's a high heat oil, olive is not and I know nothing about ghee) and let it go until it forms a sort of "crust." Cast iron shouldn't stick, but as others have said, it might be time to re-season it. Or just make a TON of pancakes and re-oil/butter inbetween each cake. That's what my husband does lol. Also, I like to fry potatoes to help it re-season a bit. 😊

My grandma has these pans that everything sticks to it. I finally learned that the pans have to be hot before I add food and it won’t stick. Not sure if are the same type of pans.

I have not been the best at taking care of plants lol, but the best advice I've gotten is to water deeply less often... Instead of watering often and a small amount.
Another good one is to buy from your local plant nursery instead of Lowe's, home depot, Walmart because those plants are imported and not acclimated to your climate. Also compost instead of only miracle grow.
Also "full sun" doesnt mean "full sun" in new mexico. Im not sure about the midwest, but it'd be good to look up your uv indexes to get a better idea.

If you coat your tofu cubes with cornstarch before frying they will get crispy. I love them that way.

Cast iron needs a little love. After you’re done cooking, clean it with warm water only. Then dry really well and then coat it with a little bit of coconut oil. That’s it! Also a metal spatula helps a lot!

If you want to be a bit gentler (metal can scratch/scrape off the seasoning), another method is to pour salt in it (ideally kosher salt) and scrub the salt around with a clean (soap-free!) rag and warm water. The salt gives the abrasion you need to get stuff off without scratching it.
And she needs to cure it in the oven 500 degrees 45 min 🎉😅😅

Is one of those a snake plant? Be careful those are toxic to cats. I’m guessing that your moving into a house to be closer to your family. @@lovelygirl8315 if it is a baby, it's not always that you plan for it. Sometimes you might be on contraceptives or take protective means but still have a baby. It's better to look at it as a gift from God rather than an inconvenience due to age. Johnny and Ashley are prayerful christians, they can do all things through Christ who strengthens them.

Been wanting to try that detergent. I use Ecos right now and the simple truth organic (kroger brand) ones. I also don't like dyes or harsh chemicals since im very sensitive.
Also, that is my favorite smoked paprika!!! Lol

THAT is outrageous. Lol the best substitute my husband and I have found is actually the Sprout's brand one. I'm not sure if you have that grocery store as I believe it's regional... But if you do, give it a shot. The consistency is a bit more liquidly, but it has pretty good flavor. I miss my siracha too 😢

Is that a diffenbachia (spelling)? If so it's toxic to animals. Don't let the kitties bite it because it can make them sick or kill them. I'm going to try the tofu recipe. I always struggle as to how to cook it, etc. I don't know...are you moving to make room for a nursery or is Johnny maybe getting a church of his own? Did you let the oil properly heat up in the pan to “season the pan” before you added the tofu? Sometimes if I don’t wait it makes stuff stick ! Maybe try letting it heat up longer

I just gasped. No soap in your cast iron, Ashley!!! It's a cast iron sin unless you know exactly what you're doing. Dont do that.
What is the reasoning for that? I use hot water and soap every day on mine, and have never had any problems.
@@Julia-lg2onhi there, you must use a lot of oil then or it's still new or you're really lucky!! The soapy water can ruin the seasoning over time. It's best to get the ick off with water only, dry it completely, then wipe it with a bit of oil. It's also good to periodically season the pan. There's a lot of good videos on that and there's a whole subreddit for cast iron too! 😊
