I listened to this set on our balcony in the summer of 2014 in south city St,Louis and it brought me right back to home. +Charlie Wilkinson I'm all for MC's but not only is the sound (microphone) quality of the MC shit, his agressive technique doesn't fit liquid at all. He would be better off with jump up instead of liquid. People want to listen this for the chills and not to hear some angry dog barking over the audio constantly. Check out Innersoul LSB b2b Technimatic ft. Deeizm set, that's how you properly MC over a liquid mix.
I loved these guys!!! I shared with all my old school Drum n Basshead friends. Did this remind anyone else of some Ltj Bukem and Mc Conrad? If you haven't checked them out they are from the late 90's - early 2000's. Really great stuff !
I have nothing against good MC´s. I even like them - but on big stages, at festivals, in hangars filled with 10.000 people. But this mix was kinda ruined by MC. I was really looking forward this mix, because is small room, not so many people, I was expecting really melodic, chilling, freshy mix. And it was. With some bangers too. But MC was talking/rapping even over chilling, liquid parts. And this is not just my opining, really DJ´s do something about this MC-ing. Some talking/raping way too much, even the good one
Yeah the critical one the other month was ruined by the mc. I don't see the need for someone to 'big up' the crowd, surely it should be down to the DJ's selection and the way they layer and play tracks together? I'm only 17 so I've been to very few rave nights and no big ones, so maybe it works well in a big venue to get the crowd pumped, but these mixmag labs have about 20 people there, so what's the point? I'm a fan of some hip-hop and rap, but I think the music speaks for itself and a lot is intended to have no vocals so why ruin it
