They say; Don't use them direct into the flame. Just Clean and heat the weldingspot. After heating touch it and the tip of the rod will get liquid for welding. Otherwise the material rod will cumble and be not at maximum strength.
Good little job Mark. In India they would have drilled it and bolted it with washers like they fix the truck tyres, you are a man of the times with your modern technology. Keep up the good work. Love your vids and have learnt alot from them. Cheers, Ian
Defo supposed to heat the metal and let the heat of it melt the rod, but some of the problems with these rods could be quality, seems they are not all made equal - maybe check out this video: "Best "No Welder" Aluminum Welding Rods? Alumiweld vs Bernzomatic vs Hobart"
Thanks for sharing, cause I was really suspicious about those rods. Just by curiosity, you have used an aluminum rod or a stainless steel rod? Because, you said at the end of the vid that it is stainless steel and English is not my native language so I didn't know if you were talking about the rod or the flask. Thank you very much.
It's a wonder this worked at all because the man is using it completely incorrectly! He didn't prepare or clean the area with a wire brush and used the brazing rod in direct flame! You are supposed to heat the repair area but keep the rod OUT of the flame or it just blobs!

Thanks Ian means a lot 👍
Always good to rub with eg alcohol to get greasy finger marks off repair point. Plus rub with clean stainless wire brush.
YES, THEY WORK !!! I wouldn't use it for water though.
Good vid, but your link to the ebay item is not working !. cheers
Where did you buy the rods from ?, as I can't find any advertised that are not just a scam
The instructions on mine said not to torch the rod itself, rather the piece and rub the rod on it. Never worked so ill try it this way
Same here ..and DIDNT FUCKING MELT
@@cliveswabs9365 pretty sure i never came remotely close to it melting. Even after buying MAP gas
@@nateb4543 i just managed to melt it ...didnt stick
you burn very strong...😁...just slow heat...slow and nice clean
