Hi Alex. The sensor maybe a Reed Switch. Which closes when in a magnetic field. If it is. To test put meter on continuity buzzy setting then put magnetic near sensor. It should buzz as magnetic passes. That is if it's a reed switch. Cheers from old George.
What a cafuffle! I wish you well with your latest problem. I recently had to replace the battery on my ebike. At least the company were British so it arrived quickly, however, it cost many English pounds to purchase. I know you'll solve the problem eventually, you always do!
Hopefully so. I think that's the issue with these things when they are a few years old, minor repairs become problematic. They will hardly be environmentally friendly if they have to be replaced while still otherwise perfectly serviceable!
Hi Alex, I agree with old George. It is unlikely to be a hall effect sensor. My guess is that it is a simple coil of wire around a ferrous core. As the magnet goes past it will generate a small electrical impulse. I have only checked them on an oscilliscope, and it produces a low voltage sine wave, in othe words, an AC voltage. So try checking it on an AC setting and very low voltage on your multimeter. (Maybe 2v scale). Another check you could do is a simple continuity check with your resistance settings on the multimeter. If it is the type I think it probably is you should get continuity, not open circuit.
I reckon you and George know more about this than me so that's probably the case 👍. I did try measuring resistance and got open circuit so possibly that confirms a fault anyway 🤔. If I manage to get a replacement that fixes the problem I'll try cutting the old one open to see what's inside.
@@ttxela Yes, if I am correct about the type of sensor, an open circuit would indicate a fault. Although if it is a reed switch not necessarily. However, I have no experience with reed switches.
I bought from Germany shipping via dhl & was charged an additional sum by them for processing the vat delivery charge the driver wouldn’t leave the parcel unless I coffee up.
I have just won a Kalkhoff pulse bike with same motor from an auction website for 30 UK pounds with only 18 miles on it and it's a 2017 model and it's spares or repair as it doesn't have power assistance. Can the motor break so soon it looks brand new? If I press the + button for three seconds I get push assist so the motor does work very slowly and quietly but offers very little help. Going to locate a UK dealer and ask if they can give me advice the manual supplied must be from a mk1 version impulse 1? as the display is totally different. Fingers crossed it's a quick cheap fix...? I have checked the speed sensor alignment and spoke magnet and seems ok as it registers bike speed. I have removed the plastic cover as you have shown in video and checked the plugs for connections and corrosion and they seem fine Motor sounds smooth and no duck quacking Wonder if I need to take the motor off and apart to see if there is any green death corrosion within the electronics ?
@@ttxela many thanks for reply stripped the motor today and it's like brand new inside only thing I cannot check is the solid state electrics in that epoxy resin all wiring loom looks fine think it will go back on ebay for spares
I just ordered some parts for my Motorhome on the 31st from Latvia £35 no extra on top and 2 weeks for delivery arrived today.. by the way did you ever sort out the head light adjusters on your Motorhome ??
The internet has gone mad since Brexit. Seems that if you can’t get it on Amazon then it’s near impossible. I wish you luck my friend. Ps, I reckon to try a Bosch one as it looks exactly the same as on mine. Worth a punt anyway
I did look at a Bosch one but I think the connector us different, could replace that of course..... we'll see if the one I've ordered arrives and works!

That's what I was thinking as well George. I would test it against magnet.
Will give this a try 👍

Bloody frustrating. Keep on keeping on! Good luck!!
We'll see what happens when/if the new sensor arrives!
Swop it with the one off nickys job done 😇
🤣 That would slow her down a bit 👍😂

😳 not good. Mind you all my brake parts for the van came from Germany with no issues 🤷♂️

You might be lucky to find a dealer that will support a 2017 model. I think your plan is good to look at the connections first.

Bulldog Spirit Alex keep at it, might be bit late to suggest order two.
Might have been tempted to order two but they were quite pricey!

Never did anything with the Headlight adjusters, it's passed 2 MOTs since 🙂 might replace them at some point though.

Hopefully they send it and it is all fixed. At least it was not the brakes 🤣🤣
Hmmm, funnily enough I think the front brake needs some attention.....
Yay .. where is my other comment then LOL ?
Did you have a comment disappear? That seems to happen sometimes, no idea why! YT is a mystery sometimes.....
@@ttxela I think so, this video popped up with a date stamp of like 3 seconds ago so I was surprised and said Hi.. only here again after our emails !
its from china ol will never figure it out 40 epis later haha
