Another interesting hypothetical to think about is what all new _companions_ you'd give Ash for each region. Some are easier than others (Misty and Brock in particular would be difficult to replace).
Brock's Shieldon and Ash's Cranidos could have a rivalry of sort in the anime. Think of two little kids fighting and Ash and Brock breaking them up constantly.

Ive thought Serena should've gotten Rhyperior on her team. Her Mom's Rhyhorn gets sad that he no longer gets to see Serena everyday. So when the group revisits Serena's Mom, she gives her Rhyhorn that becomes a powerhouse for her. He evolves into Rhydon and a nurse you or Clemont tells Serena how to evolve Rhydon and Ash or Clemont trade a pokemon back and forth so Serena can have Rhyperior.
Now I’m getting ideas for how AZ could be introduced in the story of XY. Also, maybe connect the Giant Rock to the Ultimate Weapon of the games, with the story being that the Ultimate Weapon was fired to destroy itself to prevent its future use, but a large shard was irradiated with the energy of the life restoring and later life destroying device. At the end of the series, Floette is actually the one to be released instead of Chesnaught because of Floette’s use as the power source of the Giant Rock, making Floette the one capable of sensing the roots instead of Chesnaught. Also, Serena would interact with AZ one last time before this, with AZ thanking Serena for taking care of Floette, and later joining Floette as part of his repentance for creating the Ultimate Weapon in the first place. Absol would stay though since it has grown attached to Serena.

Misty was cripplingly afraid of Gyarados because she almost got eaten by one as a child. It took extreme circumstances for her to even train/befriend one. Misty was also aware that it wasn't a strong swimmer as a Magikarp, having grown up at the Cerulean Gym, so she'd be more likely to use literally any other of her water types during the S.S. Anne incident. I also don't like that you've made her just be inherently cruel to it as a Magikarp, since she's seen in the anime being sympathetic towards James's one. She did get irritated by Psyduck, but she did care about it, and was never just cruel for cruelty's sake. She took the tough love approach with Psyduck.
Broken heart Spinda- love it. Eelectross- didn't Ingo or Emmet have it? Excadrill's Japanese name has ryu in it, which means dragon. Maybe Bonnie could have had Princess Emolga (well, Emolga is a princess in her own mind).

Goh's is the only one I'm not that into. I like Corvinight and maybe Boltund at least but if he's focusing on catching, i know this anime style but still, he needs like a sleep or paralysis inducer, a trapper, maybe a false swiper if they wanted to explain how that would work anime wise
Yeah, he's hard to come up with a team for, since he wants to catch one of everything, and caught so many. But I appreciate the Galar representation, since the anime didn't do much for that.
These were some really great teams in the context of Ash teams even with how bloated it could feel if all of them did have full teams. The only actual gripe I had was with Iris. Now don't get me wrong, I think the team is stellar and fixed the problems I had with it (ex. the absolute stupidity of Dragonite over Hydreigon). I just feel like Excadrill feels integral to her personally. Not only do I think it's kinda funny that her first Pokemon wasn't a Dragon, I also liked her and Excadrill's little storyline and thought it was good for her character because if she has trouble with a Pokemon who isn't a Dragon, how will she fair against the hardest type to train? That's just my reasoning and with the new team in mind I don't think one non Dragon dampens the idea of Iris wanting to be a Dragon master. It'll be an exception like Misty and Togetic. I'd probably replace it with Lairon because of the type overlap. Other than that, wouldn't change a thing. Also, ignoring Chloe is based. Tracey was more of a companion.
I would suggest replacing floette with tropius because it is a hoenn pokemon so it can be a hint for ORAS and she is a sky trainer in the manga (or whatever you call it)
i think that floette could been runing away from tema flare along side squishy and it woudl make fun for these two working together because if AZ appered he would be one that made deal with zygarde to protect world

As long as there was something to differentiate them like their personalities, moves, even their gender, that would be fine.

Volpix evolving has to be important, because it did not in the eevee brothers episode. I am curious what props it to want to evolve. It probably involves some influence from its original trainer.
My reasoning: •Cinderace is his starter, his right hand man. •Grookey for comedy relief. •Scizor, it’s determination to fight and pride in its strength is a nice left hand man type of Pokémon for Goh. Plus it knows false swipe for catching Pokémon if Goh ever needs it. •Flygon, it’s the “Mystic” Pokémon and is also known as the “Spirit of the Desert” Pokémon. I can’t think of a more fitting flying transportation Pokémon for a legend catcher like Goh. •Suicune, it’s the first legendary Goh befriended and caught. Suicune trusts Goh and is very fitting for someone who wants to catch them all, legendary Pokémon included. Plus Goh can travel the water with Suicune since it can walk on water, sorry to Goh’s trusty Dewgong lmao. •Regieleki, it’s the second Legendary that Goh caught and really cements Goh as a seasoned explorer/ legendary catcher.

Solid picks with some great explanations. AZ's Floette being a main team pokemon is a great choice, it would learn to trust humans again, also how funny would it be for AZ to be Serena's rival and aim to win Floette's trust back through contests. Brock's broken heart Spinda would have been way better than Max, like why is he so concerned about Brock. Kangaskhan fits him and his Pokemon Breeder goal. The redistribution of Ash's starter is nice, but i would've kept Charizard for Ash and have Bulbasaur as Brock's counter type. Misty has great picks and the Gyarados would have been a great development for her. Giving Max Pokemon and seeing him learn from the trainers around him would have done him wonders. Dawn's team got perfected and seeing her win and not Ash would've been cool. Iris's original team is the biggest insult to a Pokemon character i've seen, it's so lacking, the Dragon Master without Dragons joke got old real quick. Seeing her and Alder's grandson get gifted their respective shinies would have been great, the pink Dratiny for Iris since Benga would prefer the stronger looking and less girly Gible. Druddigon would be a gift from Drayden at the start of her journey. Fraxure, Druddigon and an evolving Deino would have been way more in line for a champion soon to be. I'd replace Lairon with Lapras to make her a little more girly(their goal with Emolga i guess) and it would be a counter for her Dragons. Cylan's Crustle was great and i'd keep it with him, just put a pan on him on a hot sunny day and cooking's started. Maybe have him catch a Ducklett that goes near fishing spots and helps Cylan discover new spots. Clemont could have gotten Chespin, feels like it would fit him. As for Bonnie i'd let her keep the shiny Phantump, it's a beautiful shiny and it would fit a kid character, instead of Mareep. The Alolan Eevee that needs a haircut would have evolved quite well into a Sylveon, but with Lily. Lana can get a shy Mareanie instead, could even have the same ''hair'' problem, a moody Pyukumuku or a Frillish for Lana and a Dhelmise instead of Phantump for Mallow to have the ghost horror stories by the campfire trio. An addition for Lily could be a Snorunt who evolves into Froslass when it resolves itself. I'd keeep Goh's team changing, but with a heavier focus on his Galar pokemon for capture, a Toxtricity, a Cramorant that would spit out Ash's Pikachu, a SNOM would have been phenomenal, Socbunny and Corviknight are great for Goh. Having them both train their respective Kubfu unto a Urshifu would have been great. Ash and Dawn + Goh could've went in Hisui for a short time and while there, their Dewott and Quilava + a recently evolved Dartrix recently caught, would evolve in their Hisuian forms. You know the useless episodes where they meet Dialga and Palkia and reset their Pokemon's evolution up to egg, yeah none of that weak stuff, they get sent to Hisui to calm the Temporal Distortions, while there they catch or get gifted Pokemon from Hisui and it would further the Professor's research. All your picks were well chosen, favorite teams rework video i've seen yet, love the drawing style for the characters and their teams.

IMO Brock's Crobat is indeed important because it evolves via friendship, which shows that Brock is a good breeder. Also, wouldn't Yamper be more useful than Boltund to Goh with his Ball Fetch Ability?
Honestly in regard to Iris’s Masters 8 Champion team, I would’ve given her Hydreigon, Haxorus, Archeops, Excadrill, Dragonite, and G-Max Lapras. I feel like this is a good fusion of her anime and game teams as well as includes a reasonable regional gimmick for the Masters 8. I also would’ve turned her into a “rival” of sorts by replacing her pre-masters battle to get into the Masters 8 with Ash having a battle with Alain. I’ve always seen Iris as one of Ash’s main female rivals with them constantly being at odds and with them having similar enough goals. Ash wanting to be a Pokémon Master and Iris wanting to be a Dragon Master which helps push her to becoming Champion of Unova. I would’ve restructured the bracket with Iris vs Ash (6v6) being the final battle of one of the brackets still culminating with Cynthia vs Ash being the semi finals. I also would’ve replaced Leon with someone like Brandon and saved his battle for the finals.
Not me, because would replace one of your picks with Dracozolt since Iris was fascinated with Ash's Dracovish when he use it to battle against her Dragonite and Haxorus at the time, and besides both Drayden and Iris never saw any of the Galar fossil Pokemon in person since Drayden stated he only herd about them when he saw Ash's Dracovish

3:24 This is what I would do for Tracy's Team. 1) Marill 2) Venomoth 3) Scizor 4) Kabuto 5) Snorlax 6) Smeargle His Scyther could evolve off screen after splitting from Ash to stay at Oak, he could've learned Trade Evolution from Oak and evolve it into Scizor with a Metal Coat. Kabuto which he could have caught in the episode, Shell Shock! Tracy could have been the one to catch Snorlax in Snack Attack. And I am also giving him Smeargle cause it suits him.
For Brock's Johto team, I think Shuckle would be a good choice, both for representing his Rock type specialty and for Brock's foodie personality as Shuckle stores berries in its shell and makes fermented juices. Also, Legendary has never meant "One of a kind", both the games and anime has made it clear more than one can exist, so the whole "trainers being able to just catch a legendary" isn't a problem. And yes, Legendary does simply mean "Rare Pokemon", it doesn't have to have some special place or role in the world to qualify. Otherwise, what's so special about Heatran or Volcanion?

Unless it was a good reason and to give her a rare looking pokemon that evil teams would like to steal like the eternal flower flebebe (sorry if I miss spelled that) that would be a great acceptance to have absol on Serena team. Because I remember absol during the jirachi movie and how destructive it was to make sure a disaster doesn't happen. But I would have changed at least meowtic with a pokemon like flygon for character arc development for her and her fenniken. These were good Choices for their teams Serena should’ve has a Mega Absol since it was part of her ingame team as the rival also Lana’s Eevee should’ve become a Vaporeon since the reason she catches it was because it loves the water and also If Goh got Urshiful Single strike style then Ash should get Urshiful Rapid strike STYLE SINCE the anime still doesn’t give him a legendary even after he becomes a Champion.
I can agree with liking Iris more than Misty. Even though they’re very similar, Iris was given more agency and more interesting traits to her earlier on than Misty did. Her past with Excadrill, a rival that both talked down her success in her goal and wanted her to succeed in her goal, a sympathetic past of not managing school, and bonding with other Dragon users like Cynthia and Clair. And she brought along good personal skills for the group such as her athleticism. It wasn’t outright phenomenal stuff, but it still made her interesting.
You forgot Chloe. Also have to hard disagree with Gohs team. Its wasted on him. Galar representation should have been for the character that matters Ash. Cinderace and corvnight are perfect Ash pokemon. Goh should only get lame pokemon that he has acquired on his worldwide travels such as peliper and octillery.

Mallow - Tsareena, Shaymin, Meganium, Lurantis (Totem), Shiinotic, Comfey
Lana - Primarina, Eevee, Wishiwashi (Totem), Araquanid, Lapras, Mantine
Sophocles - Vikavolt, Togedemaru, Golem (Alolan), Magneton, Ampharos, Elekid
Lillie - Vulpix (Alolan), Clefable, Magearna, Sandshrew (Alolan), Ribombee, Altaria
Goh has a nice collection, I’d give him Cinderace, Grookey, Flygon, Scizor, Suicune, and Regieleki
My reasoning:
•Cinderace is his starter, his right hand man.
•Grookey for comedy relief.
•Scizor, it’s determination to fight and pride in its strength is a nice left hand man type of Pokémon for Goh. Plus it knows false swipe for catching Pokémon if Goh ever needs it.
•Flygon, it’s the “Mystic” Pokémon and is also known as the “Spirit of the Desert” Pokémon. I can’t think of a more fitting flying transportation Pokémon for a legend catcher like Goh.
•Suicune, it’s the first legendary Goh befriended and caught. Suicune trusts Goh and is very fitting for someone who wants to catch them all, legendary Pokémon included. Plus Goh can travel the water with Suicune since it can walk on water, sorry to Goh’s trusty Dewgong lmao.
•Regieleki, it’s the second Legendary that Goh caught and really cements Goh as a seasoned explorer/ legendary catcher.

Solid picks with some great explanations. AZ's Floette being a main team pokemon is a great choice, it would learn to trust humans again, also how funny would it be for AZ to be Serena's rival and aim to win Floette's trust back through contests.
Brock's broken heart Spinda would have been way better than Max, like why is he so concerned about Brock. Kangaskhan fits him and his Pokemon Breeder goal. The redistribution of Ash's starter is nice, but i would've kept Charizard for Ash and have Bulbasaur as Brock's counter type.
Misty has great picks and the Gyarados would have been a great development for her.
Giving Max Pokemon and seeing him learn from the trainers around him would have done him wonders.
Dawn's team got perfected and seeing her win and not Ash would've been cool.
Iris's original team is the biggest insult to a Pokemon character i've seen, it's so lacking, the Dragon Master without Dragons joke got old real quick. Seeing her and Alder's grandson get gifted their respective shinies would have been great, the pink Dratiny for Iris since Benga would prefer the stronger looking and less girly Gible. Druddigon would be a gift from Drayden at the start of her journey.
Fraxure, Druddigon and an evolving Deino would have been way more in line for a champion soon to be. I'd replace Lairon with Lapras to make her a little more girly(their goal with Emolga i guess) and it would be a counter for her Dragons.
Cylan's Crustle was great and i'd keep it with him, just put a pan on him on a hot sunny day and cooking's started. Maybe have him catch a Ducklett that goes near fishing spots and helps Cylan discover new spots.
Clemont could have gotten Chespin, feels like it would fit him.
As for Bonnie i'd let her keep the shiny Phantump, it's a beautiful shiny and it would fit a kid character, instead of Mareep.
The Alolan Eevee that needs a haircut would have evolved quite well into a Sylveon, but with Lily. Lana can get a shy Mareanie instead, could even have the same ''hair'' problem, a moody Pyukumuku or a Frillish for Lana and a Dhelmise instead of Phantump for Mallow to have the ghost horror stories by the campfire trio.
An addition for Lily could be a Snorunt who evolves into Froslass when it resolves itself.
I'd keeep Goh's team changing, but with a heavier focus on his Galar pokemon for capture, a Toxtricity, a Cramorant that would spit out Ash's Pikachu, a SNOM would have been phenomenal, Socbunny and Corviknight are great for Goh.
Having them both train their respective Kubfu unto a Urshifu would have been great.
Ash and Dawn + Goh could've went in Hisui for a short time and while there, their Dewott and Quilava + a recently evolved Dartrix recently caught, would evolve in their Hisuian forms. You know the useless episodes where they meet Dialga and Palkia and reset their Pokemon's evolution up to egg, yeah none of that weak stuff, they get sent to Hisui to calm the Temporal Distortions, while there they catch or get gifted Pokemon from Hisui and it would further the Professor's research.

IMO Brock's Crobat is indeed important because it evolves via friendship, which shows that Brock is a good breeder.
Also, wouldn't Yamper be more useful than Boltund to Goh with his Ball Fetch Ability?

Honestly in regard to Iris’s Masters 8 Champion team, I would’ve given her Hydreigon, Haxorus, Archeops, Excadrill, Dragonite, and G-Max Lapras. I feel like this is a good fusion of her anime and game teams as well as includes a reasonable regional gimmick for the Masters 8. I also would’ve turned her into a “rival” of sorts by replacing her pre-masters battle to get into the Masters 8 with Ash having a battle with Alain. I’ve always seen Iris as one of Ash’s main female rivals with them constantly being at odds and with them having similar enough goals. Ash wanting to be a Pokémon Master and Iris wanting to be a Dragon Master which helps push her to becoming Champion of Unova. I would’ve restructured the bracket with Iris vs Ash (6v6) being the final battle of one of the brackets still culminating with Cynthia vs Ash being the semi finals. I also would’ve replaced Leon with someone like Brandon and saved his battle for the finals.

Not me, because would replace one of your picks with Dracozolt since Iris was fascinated with Ash's Dracovish when he use it to battle against her Dragonite and Haxorus at the time, and besides both Drayden and Iris never saw any of the Galar fossil Pokemon in person since Drayden stated he only herd about them when he saw Ash's Dracovish

For Brock's Johto team, I think Shuckle would be a good choice, both for representing his Rock type specialty and for Brock's foodie personality as Shuckle stores berries in its shell and makes fermented juices.
Also, Legendary has never meant "One of a kind", both the games and anime has made it clear more than one can exist, so the whole "trainers being able to just catch a legendary" isn't a problem. And yes, Legendary does simply mean "Rare Pokemon", it doesn't have to have some special place or role in the world to qualify. Otherwise, what's so special about Heatran or Volcanion?

Also I understand why you didn’t because they technically weren’t companions but I’d love to have seen your randitions of sawyer and gladion because I believe they did travel with ash for a short while and gladeon played a role in helping ash save gladeons mom

I love that you let misty keep togetic, also dawn I like the team, but I rather have her keep mamothswine he was her tank on the team and is one if my favorites. Serena team, I will be OK with what you did for her pokemon team of giving her an absol. I was never fond or like the idea of giving her an serious pokemon like absol. Unless it was a good reason and to give her a rare looking pokemon that evil teams would like to steal like the eternal flower flebebe (sorry if I miss spelled that) that would be a great acceptance to have absol on Serena team. Because I remember absol during the jirachi movie and how destructive it was to make sure a disaster doesn't happen. But I would have changed at least meowtic with a pokemon like flygon for character arc development for her and her fenniken. I noticed you ignore chloe, but I believe you have an understandable reason, especially since she didn't oddly travel with ash enough. Do you plan to make a video with her in it at some point, or do you already have one?

These were good Choices for their teams Serena should’ve has a Mega Absol since it was part of her ingame team as the rival also Lana’s Eevee should’ve become a Vaporeon since the reason she catches it was because it loves the water and also If Goh got Urshiful Single strike style then Ash should get Urshiful Rapid strike STYLE SINCE the anime still doesn’t give him a legendary even after he becomes a Champion.

I can agree with liking Iris more than Misty. Even though they’re very similar, Iris was given more agency and more interesting traits to her earlier on than Misty did. Her past with Excadrill, a rival that both talked down her success in her goal and wanted her to succeed in her goal, a sympathetic past of not managing school, and bonding with other Dragon users like Cynthia and Clair. And she brought along good personal skills for the group such as her athleticism. It wasn’t outright phenomenal stuff, but it still made her interesting.
