“Three Days Of The Condor”(1975) is a spy thriller starring Max von Sydow, John Houseman, Cliff Robertson and Robert Redford in great performances. Redford’s character is working in an office, just to find out that after his lunch break everybody there was brutally massacred. But why…
Directed by Sydney Pollack, “Condor” contains clever writing, acting and twists that keep you busy putting the puzzle pieces to place until the very end…
Musically we get finest and contemporary accompaniment by Dave Grusin, who has a talent for smaller, jazzy scores that just do it right. While the music is “typical 70s”, it holds very well up to this very day and sounds as cool as ever. Enjoy!

Great timing: Just watched the movie three times in a row this week (with different commentaries) on 4K. What a treat, one of my all time favorites.

Groovy Grusin movie music...and this score for THREE DAYS OF THE CONDOR is full of funky pleasures mixed into the smooth and sophisticated jazz themes.

I saw the film in 1975 at the former Playboy theater in Chicago. The audience applauded at the end of the Condor/mailman fight scene. A few days later, I got the Dave Grusin vinyl soundtrack. I was very happy when the original expanded score was released on cd a few yrs ago. Excellent post Fred!!

Hello, Fred! Known for his speed, the sound of small jazz groups and his appreciation of Mancini 's style ( in the 60s ), it was in the 70s that Grusin embarked on a new path, starting with three crime films between 1974 and 1975, the last two from his new partner Sydney Pollack. In " Three Days of the Condor "Grusin is still " Mancini " but also takes on his " Lalo Schifrin " side, composing a good score, appropriate to the story. Thanks and bye!!!

'Spies of a Feather, Flocking Together' also known as the love theme from the movie, is a brilliant piece of music - and quite handy when you're on a downer. It's one of my all-time favourite movies - and what became of Joe?

    Grazie Fred❤
    Dave Grusin cool👍🏻
Robert Redford, Faye Dunaway😍, Max Von Sydow and Cliff Robertson all champions.👏🏻
Research: One of Sydney Pollack's great masterpieces with Faye Dunaway and Robert Redford, here in one of the roles that established her myth. Pollack starts from a particularly spectacular genre (the spy film) to outline a far-reaching political discourse (the individual crushed by Power). Dramatic tension, effective complexity of the characters and great sense of action make the film a classic of the 70s.
