      Truth is Hijab came across quite arrogant demanding he be known as an Oxford graduate. Who cares! If your there to talk about the plight and justice of the Palestinians why is your intro so important...for his ego and his own selfishness. He is by far the worst. He does not act like an academic. He insults others on twitter with such base talk about sex you would think he is a street thug. Bassem is by far the best.

      Piers is quite famous and he have to follow the script. It could be that it was a job given to him to interview pro- palestinian defenders and representors, push them to condemn Hamas and so on, cause in this war Israel have to look good in eyes for of publics opinion , so that those attrocities IDF do can be justifiable. However who represented Piers to Israels media specialists as unrelenting spokesperson and interviewer did a whacky job cause he looks like an idiot every time.. 🤣 However he gives platform to palestinian people and that's good, at least viewers can decipher where lies the truth ...

    • @jimbuyapple
      @jimbuyapple ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I agree up to a point.
      He introduces his show in long form content only to reduce pro palestine view to a fragmented section (short form) where he continually virtue checks them and prefaces them to condemn Hamas without answering the question re Israel himself. His job is not to take sides per se, but indeed SANITISE the Israeli army talking points, which to me is worse - wolf in sheep’s clothing.
      His paymasters pull his strings and he is manufacturing a narrative end of the day.

    18:00 When Piers says "it's not my job to answer your questions". If you read the description of the original video the video is described as "a heated and emotive debate". A debate is a formal discussion where both parties ask questions, so yes Piers you have to answer his questions if this is a debate as per your own description of the video.

    • @mr.kavlas
      @mr.kavlas 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The point is to demonstrate through facts, he spent more time showing his personal animosity towards Piers. The truth is he shows his hatred on tv just like he shows his contempt for the 'disbelivers' at speakers corner and his condescension does not due one iota of benefit. Bassem a non-scholar did a much better job.

      @@mr.kavlas I completely disagree in regards to Hijab. We are allowed to have our own points of view ofcourse. Hijab is a highly intelligent man who has to be given credibility for the way he is able to call upon facts, literature and evidential backing for most of what he states and says. He has no hatred for anyone whatsoever, his in live with his faith and that I think is admirable, ok he may not share the same faith as many of us but that does not mean the man is not able to live his own faith. Bassem I agree is a great character even satirically he got the main points of views across. You left out Low-key… his mesmerising through his lyrics.

      @@mr.kavlas- He destroyed the hypocrite with a much needed contempt. He exposed his deliberate attempt to denigrate him as 'controversial' setting him up before the audience that he couldn't be taken seriously; so naturally, he took that seriously.
      Your prior dislike of him dismisses your right to decide what "the truth is..." (sic) about him.
      I see, you also have denigrated Bassem as a non-scholar. Would he be 'condescending' too, if he were to identify himself as a cardiologist and a heart and lung surgeon?

    • @mr.kavlas
      @mr.kavlas 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@autumnicleaf Respectfully labelling someone controversial is not 'denigrating'. Hijiab appeared scholarly but was disingenious bc arguing about his title was so important to Hijab touts himself as historian hence the reason. If you read his twitter attacks on anyone who critisizes Islam with adhominem attacks who will see how he descends to base insults.
      Now I didnt say Bassem was ignorant. I praised him in his approach and noticed how Bassem didnt demand to be addressed as "Dr" as getting nominal titles was not the reason he came on the show. Do you see the difference?

And he was triggedered at the beginning by being called " a Palenstinian activist", wich he was right to call out but not with so much emotion. Generally I think Piers was very disrepctful in all 3 encounters, but in this one in particular. Bassem was a genius! ... the only thing he was not expecting Piers to be so unbalanced and onesided (due maybe to the fact that they could have known each other previously).

    I didn’t like Mohammad hijab’s episode that much. Being on defensive side makes you appear as a weak debater. As you said, this program is meant for entertainment but since the topics discussed are important, the guests should come with the intention to spread the truth and help the viewers see a particular issue from a brand new perspective. Once you come to Piers Morgan program to show off your muscles, you end up being embarrassed because whether we like it or not, Piers is very clever as well as incredibly obstinate.

    I think that Bassem has the best approach for the greater audience but I think it's also important to acknowledge that all these approaches are in my opinion complementary. I personally prefer Hijab's approach. I don't think his goal was necessarily to come here and speak about the plight of the Palestinians. It was to challenge the approach of these platforms regarding their coverage. A running theme throughout his whole interview is double standard, from his introduction, to the argument of self defense, to the coverage, to the air time, to the nature of the questions being asked, to the refusal to condemn, to the plausible deniability given to each side. I think he did that better than anyone else. On the contrary I find Lowekey's approach to be the weakest because he doesn't challenge Piers enough. He was a better advocate for the plight of Palestinians but he did let Piers make his points.
    EDIT: I also disagree with Hijab being on the defensive. Most of the show was actually Hijab pressing Piers. Not the other way around.

    I am sure Piers regretted inviting Hijab and Youssef, I watched both interviews and Piers was humiliated by the honestly of Hijab such as: you have been fired for fake images, why didn't introduced me as university graduate but as a controversial...etc
    Piers was also humiliated by the overwhelming sarcasm of Youssef, I didn't understand at the beginning and I had to watch it again to understand the unbelievable sarcasm of Youssef.

    Hijab's approach best fits an opponent who fights the same way. Piers is simply not an appropriate opponent for Hijab's style.
    Bassem knows Piers' wheelhouse. And he knows how to run circles around dishonest individuals by not giving them the satisfaction. Instead, he makes them realise how foolish their own position is and you cannot hold a position on a foundation of sand. In the end, as Piers did, the dishonest begin spinning lies to cover their own behinds.

    this is why, I'm telling, that the prophet Muhammad SAW once warned us, muslim, to stay away from this kind debate.
    This debate aim no in the truht. Its aim is only to beat their opponent, and in most case, it always make the truth even more hard to be seen because of how the conversation going on.
    The prophet said :
    "And whoever abandons debate, even though he is above the truth, Allah will build a house for him in heaven." (HR Tirmidhi and Ibnu Majah from Anas bin Malik).
    This hadist is not telling us to be silent, or not telling us to stop telling the truth when injustice occurs. not telling us to not open the talk, of course. We need to talk, we need telling the truht when injustice occurs. We need to open a discourse.
    But the point is, there is some kind of conversation you need to avoid. To avoid "this kind of debate". In my country, we categorize this thing as "cart driver debate". No truth can be seen from the debate. Just two guys trying to outplay each other with their strategy and technique. Their concern is always their arrogance to see who is the winner. Not to see which is the truth.
    A conversation to seek truth doesn't need gimmick, strategy or anything. When you notice your opponent using those kind of thing, you should know that the conversation is not seeking for the truth. It's just a conversation to imposing the fallacy. Just stay away from it even if you are on the right side. Because the other side came to you with their own preterminded mind, which they already accept as a fact even before the conversation start, which indicate he is not seeking for the truht. So, telling him the truht is useless, because they don't want to hear the truht from you. They already have their own predeterminded truth inside his head. So, the conversation is useless, you better stay away from it.

    Another thing, if you noticed, this tv host always starts by asking the guests the same question about how they felt on October 7th (when Hamas attacked Israel). October 7th is just one piece in a conflict that has been going on for decades. Guests should ignore that single fragment and focus on 1948, when Palestine was occupied, when the state of Israel was proclaimed and recognized by the international community. That's the crux.
