Love this video. Really helps when choosing my grandma’s first wheelchair.

Very informative. I like the logic about having light weight chairs.
One thing I think you could have clarfied. The "transport" wheelchairs with the little wheels are impossible for the user to move unaided. I had a newly disabled friend who bought one. If something was just an inch out of reach she could do nothing about it without help.

I had a lighter chair the worker comp carrier got me and it was junk, couldn’t use it outdoors at all. I bought a whirlwind roughrider when they first started selling in the US. It weighs 45lbs but it is tough and can go lots of places outside. I now use a powerchair due to arm weakness but my manual is always my trusted backup.

no that is not the only ergonomic wheelchair, any custom ultralight rigid frame, , such as a tilite, or a ki mobility, or a quickie ridgid ultralight, can be ordered for a winning combination of support, comfort and freedom of motion, with a higher end chair you can get it set up to optimize and allow you to have all 3 o those things.

I know everyone has different needs. Maybe you have these things, but they were not mentioned.
For me, your best chair needs to get rid of the arm rests and make clothing protector in their place, or at lease an option.
Also, having adjustable handles would be helpful. When feeling strong, I like to wheel myself, but when tired, it would be helpful to have adjustable height push bars that people could use to help me when I am tired.
I also like a much lower back too, and a tilted seat because I kept sliding out of the chair much like the one here.
Is the weight of the chair weight of the frame or does it include the wheels. I've heard that the light weight mentioned is the frame only. true or false?
It would be really great to see a wheelchair user grade your chair. Can it do wheelies to get over curbs? How easy it is to roll? What kind of caster do they have, etc.?
Thank you. I hope you can answer some of these questions.

Joseph are there any big rear wheel chairs that was a wheel base of around 22 inches my family member needs a slimmer chair can prob use a 18” seat but need access to smaller doorways at 23” so a 22” wheel to wheel is ideal what could you recommend?

Problem with wheelchairs is you dont get a chance and most time no choice to test or changing wheelchairs. Pretty much, what you get is what you live with for a looooong time. Well, unless you are really rich. Luckily, I got a chair that worked perfectly for me for 20 years. My chair is the older quicker gpv. I'm to hard on chairs to use a folding chair. No chair is worth spit unless it has spinergy rims and tires.

I think offer good info. I see all these sights that say you can easily fold our 50lb. wheelchair and put it in your trunk. I will have surgery and have a no load bearing cast on my left foot. (Crack Smokers).
I also see that nobody really addresses a single person making a hot meal and the having to transport it. I have a large transition bump from my kitchen to my living room. I eat all my meals on my lift coffee table in the living room.
I have scorched myself 3 times already because of bad chair design and because I live alone.
I go from "A" to "B" in my ranch and can't get their safely in any chair moving something other than my body. Please tell me how your wonderful chair will fly my food from the car to the kitchen and then my soup to my table.
1: I need a chair to get into small doorways.
2: I need a chair that can transport items. Groceries, liquids, Hot and cold fluids or meals.
3: I need a chair that I can get out of bed and get to the bathroom without a crutch exchange of once or twice. (I don't have that many crutches).
I might be in a chair / crutches for over 12 weeks. I've seen no manufacture think of this handicap nor address it.
ANY Wheelchair mfg. or seller should have a one legged person endorse or design their product. You people assume too much of non reality.
I can't remember a single person ever pulling any wheelchair out of their trunk. Nor any body brining the scooter with them.
The major stores have power scooters for shopping but in winter using crutches just to get a scooter, then having to somehow get those back to the car before I can shop is just stupid. I have fallen on my ass several times and it hurts!

I hate when these scammers try to rip off and cheat by saying the weight is 13.5 while this is the weight of the frame only, no wheels no foot rests no arm rests included !!!!! Can't you live straight and make money without cheating!?!?!?!?

The evolution of this product may help put things into perspective: after selling wheelchairs for 20 years our customers needed a light wheelchair, and most wheelchairs weigh over 35 lbs. making them super heavy. the FEATHER wheelchair we designed to weigh 19 lbs. all in, but our customers needed it lighter! so we designed easy pop-off wheels making the chair lighter to 13 lbs and the wheels 3 lbs each - this makes the chair easier to lift in and out of a car

@@1800wheelchairI tried it at one of the stores and found it not comfortable at all! Low quality material, for someone like me, using wheelchairs over 44 yrs, this kind of wheelchair won't resist more than a year! Lighter than some other wheelchairs yet in terms of weight yet heavier to move around, tbh!
Sorry to be sharp here, but I am the one who is using them, you make it but never used it for more than 10 seconds! So, guys you need to employ a group of wheelchair users (with long term disability) to tell you how they feel!
And No, not asking you to hire me Lol, I'm an EE and have a job.

Very bad customer service at this company. The reviews posted on their website are filtered and only positive reviews are posted. That is how they get 4.9 rating. You don’t get what you pay for. Shameful. Bad experience.
